i can deal with the other stuff eventually but theres 1 thing i dont want this game to have an thats cencorship that ruins it for me and most likely many others as well
@@Kage57 There hasn’t been pvp announced. Closest thing is killing monsters as a team and trying to kill them faster than another team. Like Gambit in Destiny without invasions active.
Yeah if there's a gacha system for cosmetics they should at least implement a market where you can sell the gear you don't want like PSO2. Or at least maybe having a guild storage to trade amongst members. At the very least be able to break it down into mats or currency.
@@inou2222 damn..hmmmm 🤔 then maybe breakdown the gear you don't want for some sort of material then? But that would feel as though you're throwing away money lmao
There is a serious amount of detail you left out that was in the live stream. They have mentioned many times there is no P2W and they confirmed that in the live stream. Also, they are multiple store you can get mounts and cosmetics from in the game including the gotcha store. They also stated they will be plenty of cosmetics and mounts you can get in game, separate from the stores. Is their cause for concern maybe a little, but this was just and over exaggeration and a little click baity. Some people will watch this and get the wrong idea about the game. Weird he usually does more research.
I definitely agree it’s a little gross how it’s playing on people’s fears. I understand a different perspective makes for an interesting video but at least give it a fair shake and directly quote the devs he reworded and misdirected what they said big time smh
yeah its just pay to progress faster which is like the fairest u can be in a f2p game like u can spend 800$ and a f2p player can still be stornger then u depending on builds and other stuff (kind of like pso2)
Honestly no sane company is gonna say "our game is P2W". Just look at Lost Ark and how it got hyped just to become yet another ultra predatory game in the hands of both Smilegate and Amazon.
You seem to miss the part on their website where it says the Gasha/Gacha system will also sell "Utilities, etc". It's not just cosmetics. This is why I am worried. I am so tired of this. Was hoping for a game I could purchase flat out without any gasha/gacha and battle pass crap in it. I am so tired of seeing that in games. It's why I am not playing Genshin Impact and Smite.
Oof the moment you said that the rose orbs can be used to upgrade your gears I inwardly groaned. I'm all for paying to look good. So many games do that and that's perfectly fine and profitable. But pay to get better gear worries me. The gacha sucks for cosmetics but it would be better than pay to win... I hope they figure this out soon...
@Alricx well for one thats just rude. and for two, i doubt stix is going to be looking through replies to comments he hasnt even liked or replied to. don't you think you would be more noticeable to make it its own comment? and you call me the dumbass XD
@Alricx that's not even what I'm talking about 😐 if this is true then stix is misinformed and is saying something that isn't true. If you want to let him know that then make it it's own comment instead of posting on mine that way it has more of a chance to get read...
Tbf Amazon's handling of new world money wise was pretty good, there's still no pay to win even after the scare the game had on launch, and following the last patch trust seems to be building in the quality and content now...
@@gamingtemplar9893 not really. lost ark is p2w by definition thanks to smilegate. BP's monetization stands and falls with Bamco's decisions, not Amazon's.
@@ZeroSilicium In the context of lost ark it's pretty synonymous. You speed up progression and by speeding it up you gain an advantage over players who don't pay. Whether or not someone cares about others having higher GS, better gems, better engravings and easier access to new content is a different story altogether.
tbh the only problem I have is that the games going to be "adjusted" to western culture. that's never a good thing usually makes things worse. never been one to care about monetization much, but I do not like censorship and changing of the core product. for example changing how armor look cause its "overly sexual" to them because they are allergic to tiddy, or a tower on fantasy where packs don't give the same things because they want more for less i guess. and usually when people go "we're changing this to fit the western audience", that means "we're censoring everything" and I have yet to see a game that says that and does not do exactly that. so not to hopeful on this one.
I get where you're coming from. As far as cosmetic goes, that is just at the surface level but i'm not too concerned. I'm more concerned with Amazon's political leaning and specific social idealogy. I prefer not to have a current version of the sims in blue protocol. I won't hold my breath but until the game releases, i'll give Amazon the benefit of the doubt.
Rose orbs does not relate to upgrading gears, instead relates to chances of crafting. Devs already mentioned this a while ago that upgrading of gear from the initial test is removed. As for the cosmetics, players can still buy the cosmetic they want. The cosmetic gacha is just a side thing. Also, the Devs mentioned that the publishers can't do anything unless Bamco approves it first, so the final say for anything will depend on Bamco. For more info, watch Aethersong's eng translated of the livestream
PSO2NGS has a cosmetic gacha system. After a number of 'rolls', you get an item that allows you to select any one thing from the pack. Sounds annoying but it also has a player market. So items you don't want can be sold off to anybody with enough in-game currency to pay the price you put it up for. That includes f2p players. F2p players also get access to the shop 3 days a month basically so they can sell things as well. If you play the market correctly then you can get pretty much anything you want which I honestly feel is a good system that allows everybody to get what they want. The only issue is depending on how much in-game currency is necessary for different activities in the game it may make the disparity between p2w and f2p players really big. I don't care though if I'm still able to do what I want without holding back my group and I can have all the premium stuff I want then that disparity doesn't matter to me.
i tried that game once, im by no means casual when it comes to mmo's but the PSO2 system felt too agresive and overly complex i wouldn't want it on blue protocol.
I think people unreasonably expect a lot from a f2p game. If everything is cosmetic based then why complain when you’ve spent 0 dollars on a subscription.
To be honest, i would rather have a game allowing me to grind my gear for hours, than a game that would ruin all the fun by limiting players, to do 2-3 dungeon runs per day. Every mmo nowadays has a pay2win or pay2advance type of shop, even some of the games that are pay to play have those options. So as a free to play mmo, i would say that it doesn't bother most players, as long as they can run dungeons as many times as they would like to.
Yes, in BP you can run dungeon unlimited amount of times. The ticket system are only for getting extra reward that you got from the dungeon (1 ticket per run)
The socket system just seems like it saves time grinding for weapon effects. We aren’t really sure how everything will be but hopefully it turns out alright. Hopefully Amazon/Banco doesn’t mess up.
@@quis398 Didn't see people mentioning it. They usually mention they quit because of bugs and that the game isn't polished. Never saw anybody that quit because it's P2W, ppl just say "it's gacha so it's normal".
@@alreawon1212 Well I mean why not blue protocol make a subscription that you'll pay monthly for benefits but not giving to much of an advantage to them so that p2w and f2p players are equally balanced.
Speak for yourself, besides the bots Amazon has done an okay job handeling their new mmorpgs. Bandai is super greedy and if the game is less pay to win the global will be the superior version
nah, bruh, all my friends are quitting even before the game launched. but they play japanese server managed by bandai namco. and how did you forget that jeff bezos as richest man on earth literally greedy? they should just focus on logistics not gaming industry.
The one thing I find out about calling it P2W is…who am I winning against? The dude I am raiding with? Since pvp aint a thing in the game I won’t be getting stomped by people in that mode. So even if there are whales who boost their levels with tickets and whatnot, who are they winning against besides the computer mobs?
so you like being babysitted by "whales" ? you don't like doing good in a raid? and what if the "whales" only want to play with other whales? you gonna run dungeons and raids with your current gear you upgraded and grinded for hours to get the mats...while a spender can not only do that in less time than you but jump way ahead? you really like having your time wasted...you can fun in a bunch of different ways...grinding can be tedious...and boring some times...that's why people complain...
@@Shinikins The core concept of most rpgs is leveling up, otherwise known as grinding. As for babysitting, if in a 30 man raid I see some players that spent cash to level up faster, I won’t honestly care. Whoop de whoop, they spent money while it still takes 30 people to do the raid. If the “whales” form pods (freakin love the terms for this) I won’t care since non whale players still exist and play the game. This whale problem only matters if you care about comparing your game time to someone else, and since it is a heavily pve game then comparing yourself to others is silly. It’s like getting mad at Destiny streamers who make the game their living while most play a couple hours a day at best.
@@travistirey8579 I remember this old mmo I used to play back in the day, it was really pve focused and whenever whales joined a raid no one could kill anything because the whale just one-shotted everything so it was pretty boring since before the boss or the other players could do anything the whale would just 1-shot the boss.
As someone that’s looked forward to this game for a few years now, this is concerning to say the least. Hopefully it won’t be too bad and this game lives up to the hype 🤞🏻
@@anatoli1234567890 I hated PSO2's actually so now I'm even MORE worried xD, if you mean the buffs and features locked behind paywalls not just about the cosmetics thing that is.
@@ArnnFrost yes. We know they will sell more that cosmetics. There is a hint of buff for weapons upgrade . We know for fact there will be extra dungeon rewards tickets. So you get more each run and I bet the drop rates won't be too good.
Sadge. I had a feeling this would happen though. It's looking like the kind of game that'll feel like a fantastic $60 title or $15/month sub based game if one spends $100 -> $1,000 a month on it.
I hope the game doesn’t do that bad.. it’s an MMO so I’m HOPING it won’t feel to different.. we’ve all waited a very long time so.. let’s give it a chance..
Bro, imagine you already spent so much money just to make a game, then you make it free to play and your game have very little monetization. How can you even feed your employee?? GO AHEAD AND MAKE UR OWN GAME FOR FREE
As long as I can get cosmetic attire and so on by just playing the game, I don’t care how long it takes as long as I can do that. Like wow with the playing for more game time.
fashion is the true endgame i like the gacha cuz f2p players can look good and not be the same 10 free outfits with different colors...just like an npc
Thos who actually didn't check their post, nothing is P2W atm in blue protocol, all of the gacha items are cosmetics, all consumables are just xp potions and etc, just to speed up your process, nothing else. I watch 99% of styx's videos, he is doing a great job reviewing games or all the news infos he gives us, but sometimes Styx, do a better job at reading news, cause this is a misinformation you are giving in this video atm. But also I must note that I said "atm". In those news they haven't implied that any item there will be pay to win, everything are cosmetics and xp potions are just meh, nothing serious. for example, there is consumable to get more gold. you can farm gold any time. There is a consumable for more xp, dude just patience and farm as f2p. These kind of items don't change anything.
I listed all of the items were cosmetic, mounts, emotes etc. I said what was p2w were the tickets, providing significant advantage to paying customers. And potentially Red Orbs if they allow you to upgrade your gear faster than players that don’t purchase them. Even despite them being earnable ingame.
@@MMOByte as for Red Orbs we have to see what the in game store is like no? it could be another p2w but it also couldn't...guess we'll have to wait and see
@@Shinikins As far as i am aware, atm nothing is p2w. So yeah we have to wait. But video title and the way everything is described at the beginning is very misleading, some people will even stop mid-way and when some people in my community watched it as well, most of them got confused and mislead information made them think that this is a completely pay to win game.
@@MMOByte Sure but title and begining of the video was very misleading for most people probably. my community judged that this is a pay to win game by watching the video only till mid-way. at 0:10 it already seems like a a pay to win. while watching the video only somewhere in the middle you explain things what is payed content and what is not, which is very misleading, BCS some people might not even watch it till than. in some comments bellow I noticed that they also assumed that this is pay to win game. I'd assume the same until I watched the video till you mentioned battle pass. So please. do a short overview of the whole video at the beginning first. or information is very misleading. and the name "Blue Protocol Players are TERRIFIED of Predatory Pay to Win Monetization" , it already states that game will be pay to win.
ah yes alterations for that mythical "modern audience"... what they really mean is the western release will be tweaked for the rabid twitterati that plague games like Genshin who whine endlessly because characters are "too white". localization is just a nicer word than bastardization.
No complaints here. We just need this on console asap. I’m used to Gacha cosmetics since I play PSO2NGS. If you want a certain hairstyle better get some AC or pay 7million Meseta(in game currency)for that hairstyle.
Yeah. At least you don't need to unlock skills, equipment or classes through gacha. I take midly expensive cosmetics any time, takes like a week of grinding to buy the most expensive items anyways.
Pretty much all of the players who are complaining must not of watched the livestream because they specifically said Amazon cant do anything with the game unless Bandai said they could and Bandai would be building the game around japanese players so it should be fine seeing the main thing we can buy in BP is just cosmetics
The problem is most of them NEVER watched the livestreams. They just recycle each other’s flatulence and regurgitate it back out in the form of an echo chamber by neckbeards and bigots. The last livestream should have ENDED this nonsense. They literally addressed it. “Amazon can do NOTHING to their game without the approval of BANDAI NAMCO. They will be keeping the game Japanese focused as they are a Japanese company and they know their global players want that too”......
"they specifically said Amazon cant do anything with the game unless Bandai said they could" so does this change anything? no, it doesnt. Amazon couldn't change anything in Lost Ark before asking a permission from Smilegate too yet you know what happened. There is no real reason to tell amazon "No you cant do this." they will agree with almost anything amazon would insist on. Also i did watch the stream and they clearly stated that there will be changes between versions.
@@miavelvet they did say that they don't want to change too much because it aimed towards japanese players and don't want to have it too westernized since they are allowed to say no to the feedback that the publisher wanted added to the game
Paying for a chance to get a skin sucks big time. I would prefer to buy the skin straight up but if they did this it, may be over priced like most skins are in games imo.
This sounds like a pay to fast, not p2w system, right? I mean, as far as I know, there wont be any pvp in the game. But I also dont know what advanteges could a paying player get from progressing faster than a non paying player.
It's like a mobile game that has an energy limit. If you want to play more then you'll need to pony up the cash. The exact way they implement this in BP will likely be less obvious.
Battle passes in free to play games are healthy. They're usually an affordable way to help support the game you're playing without worrying about things like Gacha etc. Just consider a Battle pass the equivalent of a FFXIV subscription. I also think the term "Pay to Win" is being used incorrectly here. This from my understanding is a purely PVE game. Purchasing progress is a very large difference to purchasing an outright advantage. If people want to support the game by whaling and maxing their character in a week, let them. That doesn't affect me or my character in a negative way. They didn't purchase an advantage. They purchased being bored and having nothing to do. My only concern is if cosmetics will be locked purely behind Gacha like in Maplestory, or if they'll have certain outfit rotations available for instant purchase outside of Gacha as well.
If we think about it, its monetization is kinda similar to PSO2 as far as I understand, which is good, you know in PSO2 you can purchase Items and outfits with that diamond currency, and also there are gacha machines that give emots, costumes and accessories by using some tickets. I haven't played PSO2 in ages but as far as I remember it was not p2w and as f2p I was still able to get tons of cool outfits. and since they're both Japanese this could be the case with BlueProtocol! let's just hope for the best!
This game is dead to me. I hope it crashes and burns so horribly that every soulless dev, publisher, CEO avoids making these kinds of monetization choices ever again.

It's about finding the balance. No matter what the game will need to have some monetization (obviously cosmetics or convivences would be the more agreed way to go), even then there always has to be a balance. Enough content and f2p materials for f2p players ways to enjoy the game, while also giving those who love spending money something worst spending money on.
I actually prefer f2p game with some microtransactions because personally I would never play this game if this cost $60 + monthly $15 sub. There are too many alternatives that are f2p, I don't want to buy subscription for this. I'm not THAT interested. Obviously you can't have a completely free game, that makes no financial sense so I'm willing to compromise with microtransactions as long as the base game (dungeons, quests and zones) are free.
@@sten260 how about 5 us per month but you have access to everything. this would be enough revenu given its a mmo and in need of 5 million people playing all the time. 5 mil * 60 a year is more than 250 millions a year, which is ample enough to sustain such a game. but no company will do this... they all prefer the easy MTX way.
@@sten260 theres more than 10 millions playing ff14 right now, there was an exode from wow because that game lost a lot of quality. basically, if you trust in your product and dont try to nickle and dime them, maybe indeed it could be well worth it for everyone.
I dont know that much about BP but I was interested in it. However everything ive seen from trailers in the last 6 months.... it looks "good" and "fun" but it also looks generic and uninspired. It looks too much like many other anime action rpgs that have been around the last few years. I can excuse average looking characters and environments if theres unique gameplay features/mechanics/depth.... but I've not seen that. Hearing about P2W is really not helping convince me to play. Honestly, P2W in MMOs does disturb me deeply and I wish it didnt exist, HOWEVER its never been the actual deal breaker that makes me quit a game, at the end of the day, what matters is the gameplay, IS IT GOOD OR NOT? For now.... I can't tell, so I'm getting less and less hyped.
If it's like Warframe, which by definition is a P2W game, where spending money gives an incomparable advantage over not spending, but is still 100% playable and the most F2P friendly game with optional P2W elements I can think of, then I don't see much of an issue. though if we're being technical, Ithink it's f2p friendly due to players being able to trade gear to other players for the premium currency used for buying anything in the game, (mainly additional weapon/warframe slots) which creates a massive in-game economy that benefits all players.
half of the info in this video was wrong though, and very exaggerated lol. He made it sound a lot more pay 2 win than what they showed in the stream, all the paid items were mostly for cosmetics with a tiny bit of pay to progress. Most items that are in the shops are also available in game to get by just playing and grinding.
“A tiny bit of pay to progress,” so still “pay to progress.” Which is my point. There is pay to advance present - which I noted in the video. The tickets alone are proof of that. Everything else is just unnecessary greed.
The tickets aren’t there to boost rates, it’s just more mats of the same drop, literally like monster hunter. There isn’t even a limit to farming, so you can farm non-stop, the tickets are there to help you farm a bit faster cause you get more of the SAME drop, there’s a limit to how much you can use and buy as well. it’s convenient at best but not enough to call it “p2w”. Also, you can get the tickets for free too.
This news easily took my anticipation for the game from maybe an 8/10 down to a 3/10. The combination of gatcha cosmetics and accelerator passes for power are almost enough to completely sink any interest I had in the game. Honestly, the whole accelerator pass thing just makes me think of Diablo Immortal. Sure it's technically possible for a F2P player to get the same stuff a whale does but it will literally take them years to do so.. so, sure, F2P players in Blue Protocol might technically be able to "earn everything in game" but is that truly going to be realistic. And even if it's realistic to accomplish, is it going to be fun? If I have to run a dungeon 30 times to get a reasonable reward as a F2P, chances are I'm not going to be having fun with the game by the time I'm done.
Amazon is involved ? RIP server load LUL they didnt even have enough capacity for the New World preorders on launch... Still gonna sit in queue for it however : MMORPG enjoyers can't be chosers.
There are 3 major questions that come to mind. 1. What will be the aquisition rate of premium currency for f2p players? Is it going to be sufficient to get at least spotlight items of the season pass or is it going to be a token amount you'll never have use for, being there for the safe of devs being able to brag about it being a feature? 2. Gear upgrades being RNG. How much RNG and how oppressive is it going to be? Is this going to be a BDO style upgrading, where even grinding for months will not guarantee you an upgrade that you want/need? 3. Drop tickets. Immediately recognising it as a time-gating feature, how much of an inconvenience is it going to be? Is it going to be just a loot booster or you will need it to get certain items at all? This imo is the most critical question as it has a potential to make or break the game. Assuming the former it'd boil down to gameplay being engaging enough to keep the players going. Assuming the latter is true, it would generate player disparity so large that free players will not be able to reach anything within reasonable time frame.
Are there any battle pass game that allow you to complete a battle pass with out paying ? no ... theres your answer , you will have to pay to get the better and best items.
So long as I can grind/farm my way to Pay2Win progression I'm fine with it. Warframe did a great job giving everyone the ability to either buy what you want or grind/farm the parts needed to craft that exact piece for free all knowing you could spend 1-5-10hrs for 1 part of the blueprint. Options are always weclome.
Warframe's not a very good example there, seeing as its biggest criticism is how heavily inconvenient they intentionally made crafting specifically to push monetization in a very unsubtle and aggressive manner.
@@KaleidosXXI I played many years ago. Everything was obtainable through grinding and farming albeit inconvenient. Jumping from level to level, crafting parts to get other parts to get others parts. It was always tedious, but nothing was unobtainable when I played years ago. All Premium Frames were farmable and all Prime weapons were farmable. I'm not up to date on how they halted the ability to grind or farm as a F2P.
Don’t mind if it’s only fashion like pso2 but pso2 ngs has spoiled me on how you can always get the item you want after a certain amount of pulls so I hope bp has the same. Also there better be a tales of gacha
I dont really mind the battle pass system and the gacha system i've played similar games but didnt mind it since it didnt effect the game experience that much, just increasing grinds in some cases. W/c is why im not that terrified as i've played through some of amazon games servers and to say that they did a good job making them still alive till this day. im still very excited to this game to a fault. I don't really care if other people dont like it because of those features as people have there own opinion on what game they like. its just try not to bash a company too harshly as they're trying there best to make a game great for there future player base.
These kinds of monetization only cultivate a short-term mindset for the longevity for the game. I fear they're only focused on making as much money as possible before players give up and move on. Over time the game will feel empty because all the f2p players have left and only the paid players will remain because of sunk-cost fallacy.
Sad news. i will NOT play blue protocol. Knowing how bad AGS are handling new world and lost ark just tells me...." Don't play this game, You will regret it " and yes you get it right, i am more worried about how the game going to be handled than the P2W aspect
And that is the reason why I always prefer MMOs with a subscription model. Loved Tera for several years, hated it when it went F2P. It just got so much worse that the shut down was only a matter of time. If Blue Protocol will have those P2W aspects, this game will die within weeks after launch, just like so many others did before. I had hope and love for this game, but that information ruined it completely. Bamco is king in producing low quality anime games within a short develepmont time (with a few exceptions that are amazing), tons of overpriced DLCs and P2W mobile games with life periods of 1 year or less. Now they want to smell the scent of fast money through an anime MMO only to let it fade away into neverland after max profit was earned. Sorry but I am considering to no longer support this company, just like I do it with Koei Tecmo.
If it was pvp I probably would be nervous about this monetization scheme, but PvE it doesn't bother me as much and I don't mind gacha mechanics as badly as others. I'll still will play this, but I doubt I'll buy tickets. Grinding can be fun if the combat is good to me. Though I wouldn't mind a tweaked monetization scheme if it is better than what is described. I understand they need to bring in money as a f2p title, but there have been worse monetization in paid titles.
I personally don't mind if people want to pay to progress faster, what I do care about is if they have some form of unequalised pvp, where there is something you need to obtain locked behind it.
no pvp in bp...but it's more pay to brag and stuff ( like at the end of raids you can see who dealt the most dmg and stuff... people might be casuals and not care about stuff like this...but a lot more people care...is there for a reason people want to be strong and brag... )
Well guess thats it... They could make the game buy to play and run cosmetic shop the only reason to make a free to play mmo with battlepast and gacha like system is money its that simple and when the main focus of a company of games is making money instead of making a great game (which by definition would actually get them more money), but they dont seem to understand that, then its nothing but a slowly sinking ship
I'm more of "we shall wait and see" mindset. While this news are quite worrying, there's no need to taking stance before we'll see the final product here, in the west.
Overwatch 2: "BRING BACK THE GACHA! WE WON'T PAY $20 FOR SKINS!" Blue Protocol: "TAKE AWAY THE GACHA! LET US PAY FOR SKINS!" Not shilling, just think it's a funny comparison lol. And to be fair, I haven't heard a lot of people complaining too much about the gacha.
I get what you're saying but Overwatch isn't an MMO, so it's not really a good comparison. The whole point of MMOs for many is collecting pixels so having the better part of it put behind gacha is less than ideal
@@ZehSkweegy yeah, for sure. And I think what people REALLY want back in Overwatch is more of the in-game currency, not actually the loot boxes themselves. People just forget when they're in a rage.
If it's just pure cosmetics like Apex Legends gacha system and battlepass, it's best case scenario since it's not P2W. Together with some skins/cosmetics being exclusively behind paywall and not behind gacha system is reasonable.
If they later reveal outfits have stats that are factored in on top of your gear it will make me very upset. I was looking forward to this game, but if it's just another "If you're not rich, you're my bitch" kind of game. Count me out. I choose dignity please.
I hate gacha system. What happened to cosmetic stuff from like Grand Fantasia or Aura Kingdom, where u can atleast grind some and get the cosmetic stuff
It's so crazy that this entire "pay to win" aspect has spun out of control like this. Like literally people just need to grow up. There are people who quite literally shit on a better toilet. eat better food, even sleep better than you on a better bed. Life is pay to win. Video games is just a hobby out of life. If I want my quality of my video game to be better then I'll do that by any means necessary including RMT. It's just so crazy to me that people really care so much about how others spend their money when it comes to video games. But if I was tuning some race car, or off in a strip club. I'm just living life. Senseless. If I can complete a dungeon 3 times to get the max rewards because I work a JOB and don't have time to play all day then so fucking be it. We are all mostly adults in mmos from my personal experience. Yeah some kids can play but for the most part everyone of age with responsibility. If you don't make enough to put some extra income into a video game then video games shouldn't be what you invest so much time into. Learn a skill and be better. Come back when you have the extra money. Complaining solves absolutely nothing. If you subject yourself to being completely free to play. You are either completing some challenge that isn't necessary but you like to personally achieve. Or you are broke and spend your time unwisely. like playing 2k hours free to play.
@@nightguardianx-chris They can also make it like gw2 where you can trade in-game currency to paid currency. Remember It's a free game and they do have to make money somehow. That's why I'd rather spend money on cosmetics than them adding p2w items.

I want to hope but every F2P MMO is a P2W mess with predatory monetization. Maybe Riot can change that but until it happens I'm just going to stick to sub MMO's.

These systems at late end game is extremely p2w if there's no weekly or monthly limit. Imagine crafting or farming end game gear and pay player having more chance for bis cause they put x money in.
Well, in genshin impact they have all of that but you can get everything from the paid store by playing normally, except for 5 weapons that are not even 5stars, and the game it's doing amazing...so as long as they don't pull a Diablo inmortal we should be okay...maybe

So many games do that and that's perfectly fine and profitable. tbh the only problem I have is that the games going to be "adjusted" to western culture. that's never a good thing usually makes things worse. never been one to care about monetization much, but I do not like censorship and changing of the core product. for example changing how armor look cause its "overly sexual" to them because they are allergic to tiddy, or a tower on fantasy where packs don't give the same things because they want more for less i guess. and usually when people go "we're changing this to fit the western audience", that means "we're censoring everything" and I have yet to see a game that says that and does not do exactly that.

You're absolutely right
Yes, in BP you can run dungeon unlimited amount of times.
That could be the case! Bamco were fairly vague with some of the system explanations.

This whale problem only matters if you care about comparing your game time to someone else, and since it is a heavily pve game then comparing yourself to others is silly. this monetization seriously puts a damper on my hype, W O W
Hope its not as bad as it sounds.

There are too many alternatives that are f2p, I don't want to buy subscription for this. I'm not THAT interested. If it's like Warframe, which by definition is a P2W game, where spending money gives an incomparable advantage over not spending,
but is still 100% playable and the most F2P friendly game with optional P2W elements I can think of, then I don't see much of an issue.
though if we're being technical, Ithink it's f2p friendly due to players being able to trade gear to other players for the premium currency used for buying anything in the game, (mainly additional weapon/warframe slots)
which creates a massive in-game economy that benefits all players.

If I have to run a dungeon 30 times to get a reasonable reward as a F2P, chances are I'm not going to be having fun with the game by the time I'm done.
no , no they wont. as of now there no trade so you will have no way as a f2p to get the cosmetic items.
@Louve Waver i see some one never played "f2p" games before.
I am really disappointed been waiting for this game for years.
Amazon is involved ? RIP server load LUL they didnt even have enough capacity for the New World preorders on launch...
Still gonna sit in queue for it however : MMORPG enjoyers can't be chosers.
Oh yeah, totally. Who cares if people are more powerful than me. I'm gonna enjoy the hell outta the game haha.
Welp....so much for Blue Protocol. RIP... :-(
grueling years of waiting and hope to play just to break all that much hype in 1 announcement wow
Is it true that one can change any class that they want. Example you started a warrior and then you can switch to other class anytime?
Yes!
More concerning is that there is no cross play
Are you sure?
@@rafal2675 yeah they said it will not be there by release. They plan to maybe do it later on
If they doin all this i would have preferred to pay $30-40 and deal with no pay to win at all
And some people worry about subscriptions XD! Just wait until someone offers you something for "free"...
If they have a monetization system like PSO2 then I’d say it’s perfect for free to play players
These kinds of monetization only cultivate a short-term mindset for the longevity for the game. I fear they're only focused on making as much money as possible before players give up and move on. Over time the game will feel empty because all the f2p players have left and only the paid players will remain because of sunk-cost fallacy.
so pso2 ngs.
@mike chance I did not say like pso2 in a good way. And pd2 ngs looks good. Plays is a different thing.
I was excited for Blue Protocol but now that Amazon publishes it I won't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
I'm fine with the Gacha as long they do it like Pso2 and make it so F2p players can buy the cosmetics with the in game currency.
6:55 Just when I thought I could play a real mmorpg.. And they through Gacha in there... FFFFFFFFFFF
Well, time to scratch this game off my list.
Sad news. i will NOT play blue protocol. Knowing how bad AGS are handling new world and lost ark just tells me...." Don't play this game, You will regret it " and yes you get it right, i am more worried about how the game going to be handled than the P2W aspect
No... No we're not....
I think you can earn tickets too, so at least if there isn’t a big reason to use them often it won’t be a problem.
Somehow never got the news that blue protocol was going f2p. rip years of hype that's a hard pass f2p mmos never go well
I personally don't mind if people want to pay to progress faster, what I do care about is if they have some form of unequalised pvp, where there is something you need to obtain locked behind it.
no pvp in bp...but it's more pay to brag and stuff ( like at the end of raids you can see who dealt the most dmg and stuff... people might be casuals and not care about stuff like this...but a lot more people care...is there for a reason people want to be strong and brag... )
This is what pay to win is, but 90% people dont understand this.
Preach.
I'm more of "we shall wait and see" mindset. While this news are quite worrying, there's no need to taking stance before we'll see the final product here, in the west.
Overwatch 2: "BRING BACK THE GACHA! WE WON'T PAY $20 FOR SKINS!"
Blue Protocol: "TAKE AWAY THE GACHA! LET US PAY FOR SKINS!"
Not shilling, just think it's a funny comparison lol.
Lol
no stats on outfits...at least till amazon changes it
I hate gacha system. What happened to cosmetic stuff from like Grand Fantasia or Aura Kingdom, where u can atleast grind some and get the cosmetic stuff
Is it literally the same Cosmetics Gacha system like in PSO and stuff?
Or you are broke and spend your time unwisely. like playing 2k hours free to play.
having p2w in any mmo that has some sort of competitive content usually won't end well
Don’t tell me this game is going to turn into another Cyberpunk where we waited years for a most anticipated game to get a shit game… 😔
Really hope it doesn't end up being p2w. I don't mind battle pass since it's a free game and I will definitely spend money on cosmetics
I would rather in-game currency be used for cosmetics than some bullshit like paying real money for 'em. It's predatory and will drain ya dry.
@@nightguardianx-chris They can also make it like gw2 where you can trade in-game currency to paid currency. Remember It's a free game and they do have to make money somehow. That's why I'd rather spend money on cosmetics than them adding p2w items.
Played FF14 for a little over 7 years > (Monthly Subscription + Purchases at the Online Store) Mounts, Costumes, Glamour's Etc.
Played PSO2:NGS since Launch > Subscription + Tickets for Costumes and Accessories (Cosmetic's)
Played Genshin Impact > Battle Pass + Blessing every single month since Launch. (Never Purchase Primos but you can definitely can.)
and Soon will be Playing BlueProtocol.
There is no such thing as "Free to Play" either by Subscription, Online Store, Gatcha, Passes, buyng a console game for $70, etc, etc....
The Company Develops a Game to Make Money! I honestly like this options... More Accy's more Mounts, more Customization, etc.
That's it guys, put all your hopes into the upcoming Riot MMO, anything else before that is irrelevant
as if this dont have monetisation 🤭like unique skin gear like in league of legends
I'm not going to play a game from a company with idiotic "dudebro" mentality and environment.... lol
Sincerely,
NECKBEARD
I want to hope but every F2P MMO is a P2W mess with predatory monetization. Maybe Riot can change that but until it happens I'm just going to stick to sub MMO's.
Like I understand they need to make money as a f2p mmo but I hate how they include increase crafting chances for pay player and so chance for extra loot in dungeon. These systems at late end game is extremely p2w if there's no weekly or monthly limit. Imagine crafting or farming end game gear and pay player having more chance for bis cause they put x money in.
if thats all true then im skipping this game in a heartbeat
Well, in genshin impact they have all of that but you can get everything from the paid store by playing normally, except for 5 weapons that are not even 5stars, and the game it's doing amazing...so as long as they don't pull a Diablo inmortal we should be okay...maybe
That game is trash
@@rafal2675 wow tell me about fornite too
@@Yasviele Fornite is FTP without any kind of pay to win whatsoever
@@rafal2675 Wait, genshin is ftp too and there's nothing in the game that you can't complete without paying... Is like... you're talking without knowing, odd.
But I get it, hating genshin is more like a meme at this point
@@Yasviele You could have better gatcha weapons, characters constellations and more farming time by paying with real money. It's pay to win Sherlock.
I wonder how someone can defend "pay to progress" (we all know it's p2w no matter how you call it) then i remember in which era we live.
People defend publicly confirmed abusers. Who knows what goes through the minds.
