For me the most important decoration of Christmas is the Nativity Scene of the birth of Jesus. It reminds me the real meaning of Christmas: Jesus ♥️

Reminds me of my decor in my apartment days, simple and classy. Now that we own a home, I have accumulated more decor as gifts and usually pick up 1 item each year for our home. This year it was a pair of glittery doves to freshen up a wreath I made years ago to give it more life. We decorate our outside with white lights, a pair of wooden deer (come apart and lay flat for storage) with their spot lights along with a wreath on the door and decorate my own 2 urns flanking our doors. I use fresh greenery and use the planter picks to make it christmas each year. Saves money on the prebought urns, and the greenery are off cuttings from christmas trees from our local nursery that get composted in the spring.
As a Mom, I do give my son a new ornament each year to remind him of his favourite thing that year and he has his own 3ft tree (from our apartment days) to decorate with plastic bulbs and handmade ornaments he makes at school. HE LOVES IT and redecorates it almost daily. My tree is like yours and filled with lots of bulbs to fill in the sparseness and make it feel more real. I have a few large bulbs that I nestle deep into the tree to give it depth and sparkle. It really is my favourite time of year and as a Canadian girl myself, I get the woodsy wreath 100%. The past few years I haven't put out our fragile decor and ornaments and just bought some inexpensive bulbs while my lil guy is little and will pass them on when he is older. So I do have more decor in storage than I care to admit, but it will be used in a few years when little hands aren't so rough. I am tempted to get a third *cough* tree for our basement family room one day, so Christmas is definitely not where I am a minimalist but the other holidays I am - so kind of a balance? lol

I decorate just after Remembrance Day here in Canada. My favourite decorations are the ones I had originally gave my grandparents growing up. When they downsized their house they offered them back to me for my own house. They have a special place in my heart and are packed nice a safety each year.

We put up a tree, and our stocking for each person. And one light-up topiary on the front porch. That is about it the past few years, we decluttered a lot of decorations. It got far too out of hand, and became a major source of stress after we both lost our fathers. Simple is best, and more enjoyable. :)

I live in Australia and grew up on a farm. No-one got real pine trees, Christmas is summer here, and Dad would go into the bush and cut down a small Eucalyptus tree. A young Eucalypt is scrawny, untidy, and not dense. We'd throw tinsel and baubles on it and it was the saddest looking thing you'd ever seen. When hubby and I were dating, I said that I'd always wanted a beautiful big Christmas tree like they have in America with all the trimmings. My birthday is the week before Christmas and the year we were married, that is exactly what I got (fake, 'cos we don't cut down pines). It was thick and glorious and there was one beautiful, big red bauble to put on the tree. He said that every year we'd add one more special bauble for each of us, and one for each of our future kids. I cried like a baby. We still have the tree 31 years later, and it is filled with baubles. Our eldest daughter is getting married and she can take whichever baubles are special to her to start her own tree with.
My partner and I are massive travelers. I love the keepsakes in the way of ornaments! Love love love!!

I love Christmas and my favourite ornaments are the ones that kids have made, I don't have any kids of my own but my friends kids make sure I'm well looked after with homemade ornaments and gifts xxxxxxxx

My mum and I started buying Christmas ornaments on our various trips over the years and they are some of my favourites! My boyfriend and I now have our own small collection from our adventures but one of my favourites on my mum’s tree is a glass alligator with Christmas lights strung all around it’s tail and mouth from a trip to Florida and a super sparkly conch shell with a pearl inside from a Caribbean cruise. It’s always fun to reminisce about the great trips and memories when decorating the tree each year 🎄🤶🏻🎅🏻
I love everything and the ornaments thats nice when you guys travel you guys get one .I brought everything on clearence last year and my first christmas with christmas tree.

I love having a real tree this time of year. It’s smaller this year so I have decluttered some decorations. Most years we will buy a new ornament for the tree. This year was a sheep and a tractor with a little tree on top. My fav decoration are these little knitted stockings that hang off the tree. Along with some gold bells and red velvet apples.
Sit with an open fire and chill.

We did very minimal decor indoors, just a tree with some homemade ornaments and a couple signs. Then we went all out outdoors. It's a big thing in our small town to drive around and look at Christmas lights and with covid we wanted to make it extra special for the kids and parents in our area since schools have been closed due to covid. We all needed some extra cheer this year.

I love the wrapping paper you use at the end. And to answer your question, yes, I definitely decorate! I’ve become much more minimal in recent years, but I still go all out for Christmas 😁

My family has decided to not put up a tree this year, but our place is still decorated with all of our stocking hung up by the mantel, plus a few other pieces that were placed in our living room and kitchen. I think my favorite thing about this season in particular is the music. I'm not a religious person, but for some reason, I just find a lot of comfort in playing some of my favorite tunes on the piano, or just having them played in the background on Spotify or UA-cam 😊❄☃️

I am getting a slow start to decorating this year, re-purposing some of my hubby’s old shirts into stockings for the kids. I love that Chris has dog ornaments from his mom! I have angel ornaments that my mom got me every year!

Loved your ornament stories. Biltmore engagement ornament is beautiful! I love the idea of collecting new ornaments as a couple each year. Then we started for my daughter when she was born. ( 27 years later she had a good little collection). I figure if I can get everything except the tree into one bin... I have achieved my goal of minimizing after 2 years. Should have started when I was young like you. It accumulates fast. I think your holiday touches are all meaningful and they spark joy for you. That is what’s important. Thanks for the tour. I put up keychains and charms from my time living in Japan on my tree (mixed with other ornaments), we put stockings up, and I hang a few ornaments from the chandelier over our dining table. We also have a nativity scene which I will sometimes put up on a shelf or the piano. Otherwise I haven't been decorating, since we live in an apartment and don't have a lot of space to store seasonal decor. This year we might buy a wreath from a fundraiser, though.
My favourite ornament has to be this little plastic+velvet Santa Claus ornament that my sister selected when she was two (she’s twenty-two now). Time had its way with it and it has no face anymore so it’s just a tiny Santa with a black hole for a face and it’s positively creepy 😂

i put some things out a nativity scene and a snowman. No tree. Needles got everywhere and i have no storage for a fake one

Christmas is my favorite holiday so I go all with the decorations ☺️ I’m still picking things up almost daily...it’s a problem I know lol but I can’t help myself. Especially after how this year went I think Christmas cheer is what the doctor ordered 👍

I have a small wood nativity that was my dads that I love to put up each year. My favorite ornaments are hand painted name ornaments for each one of us and the little hand ornament of my first son. His hand was so small! 🥺💙💙

One of our favorite Christmas time traditions is joining the Jeep club on a Jeep run in the mountains to get our live Christmas tree. There is always a great deal of getting stuck in the snow, and winching one another out etc. And the permit to get the tree is way less expensive than buying a real tree plus you get all the adventure and fun of choosing it yourself during a beautiful day in the mountains!

Chrstmas 🎁is always festive, especially with family. Lights✨ and ornaments brings it all together. Nice how Christopher puts out his little dog ornaments. Always nice to keep ornaments from childhood. Your tree🎄 looks very pretty too. Thank you for this.
Love the tree, that star is brilliant especially because it lights up, I decorated yesterday and am feeling very festive :) :) We have some special ornaments but not as many as you guys :) :)

I decorate very little as I get older I have x4 Xmas stockings and a few other decorations and I have a tree very small and a tree out side my door with a cool Mickey sign. Simple but cute for my life style
I totally agree with the thought about decorating being treasurable memories! In my family we've got some USSR ornaments, my grandparents bought them ages ago, and they still look great on Christmas tree, reminding us about the bound between generations))))
It’s also my favorite time of the year and yes to lighting a candle and decorating while listening to Christmas songs! ❤️ I set up a very small tree and put some Santa and snowman ornaments here and there.

We bought our first home this year and recently decorated it for Christmas... I was able to put up garland around my kitchen sink window and it fulfilled all my Christmas decorating dreams to have that simple addition in my kitchen.

So cosy & beautiful. Don’t you guys have the 4 'Advent Candles'? It’s a tradition here in Germany. I love decorating my tree, we do it traditionally on the 24th of December in the afternoon & wait for Santa to show up with the gifts. My fave ornaments are the ones made by my kids in Kindergarten, they are now 11 & 6 & always get so excited when we take them out every year.

I'm so not who you asked haha, BUT I have a Capresso and it has temp gauges on it with an explanation of the type of tea you'd use it for (160- green, 175-white, ect)
It was a wedding gift and a bit pricier But It's five years old now, in great shape, and I love the settings.

Yay. We live in Asheville. Shoot me a message if you’re ever in town. Love your channel. I love winter hiking and gathering greenery, etc I find to make into decorations when I get home. I have a few sets of antique silver balls that I love because they go with everything and I can mix them up each year. Still struggle what to do with childhood keepsakes my mom has given me!! Your Christmas decoration is truly beautiful and meaningful, I love it! Ours is quite similar, personal with a traditional xmas touch, warm and joyful. (I am not a fan of 'superproduction' decorations: to me, they tend to look too industrial and commercial).

There’s only two things I don’t go minimal on and that is my husband’s warhammer hobby and our Christmas decor. Christmas decor is more enjoyable then any present I could get or give.

While I know real trees are more romantic, fake trees can actually be more environmentally friendly when kept for at least 10 years (minimally better but still) they are also a fraction of the price. Where I live a small real tree is more then a fake tree

I love your tradition of both making ornaments, and collecting them from the places you've traveled to! I hosted a Christmas in July with an ornament activity, and it was by far my favorite ornament to hang this year because of the memories attached to the activity and the trip itself! This is only my husband and I's second Christmas so I'm so excited to create these traditions with him! One quick note, "hygee" is pronounced "hoo-gah" like "who-ga". I hate correcting others, but I know if it was me, I'd want someone to let me know. Love the concept though, and the hygee that you've introduced to your channel recently!

Also I humbly advise you to keep your artificial Xmas tree as long as you can. It may not be natural but it looks lovely and since you have it, it is probably more ecological to keep it for years. We've had ours for about 35 years and it's still beautiful and in great condition. It is almost like a member of our family, we're so happy to have it againt with us every year for the holidays :) My parents had theirs for at least 4 decades. This saves a lot of natural trees, money and resources! And when you don't want it anymore, please donate it to a person or family who cannot afford one, will adopt and enjoy it for more years. :)
We definitely wouldn’t throw it out! We actually have friends who have said they would want it if we ever decided to get a real tree, so it would go to a new home 🥰🤍

I'm not a fan of decor but I like using some decorations my mother makes for me every year... and is not easy to have a Christmas tree full of "attractive" objects when you have a cat 😅
