This "integrity of the spirit of trials" stuff has got to stop. If trials for you is jumping in with two friends, there's still going to be non-matchmade available for you. Anytime I've introduced friends to D2, they've left the game not long after and I have no interest in making friends (that also have to be in the top percentage of D2 pvp, specifically for one game mode). As far as D2 is concerned, the "spirit of trials" is paying someone to play the game for you (recovs or carries) and cheating. Seeing someone with the flawless title in pvp elicits an eyeroll, not awe. PC player, to be clear.
There is no "integrity of the spirit of trials" at this point. When cheating is rampant and people "win trade" in order to go to the Lighthouse integrity no longer exists. Additionally, I don't agree with the take that matchmaking shouldn't be a part of raids or Trials, why in the hell do LFG sites exist and are used so much if the "team communications and team development" are so important? Teams that have that are likely to do better I agree, but so many people have to look for fireteams that it just makes sense to have some sort of matchmade matches and raids. Oh and another thing... let me run the strike playlist solo if I want to.
Could not agree more. The fact that people will campaign against matchmaking when it would have zero effect on them. Like you don’t HAVE to use it, so why is Travis dying on this hill about being against it. I have when I see people not want something that won’t effect them. It drives me insane. If someone want’s to use it, so be it. All I can say is thank god Travis doesn’t work at Bungie. His philosophy is awful. Put an exotic behind the lighthouse? Awful.
As a Team Monster member, I feel tricked, backstabbed, and quite possibly bamboozled.
I got the unbroken title by solo queuing comp with no mic. If they do that level up system with trials I would play the shit out of trials. There is a huge solo community because LFG doesn’t exist in game, and I hate using outsourced apps and discord to find people. So I don’t bother.
The entire levelling structure needs an overhaul. I’m happy it’s only 10 levels, everyone is burnt out on this levelling system.
All of the things Travis says as solutions for Trials are exactly what's wrong with the game mod. Exotic behind trials, Trials being the equivalent of PvP Raiding... Damn, these are the trains of thought that have ruined the game mode. Travis, Rewards do not matter if people a) can't get them or b) feel impossible to get. Elements on primary were a thing from other sources, people did not play Trials for those. Going Flawless feels like climbing the Everest for most. That needs to change.
Exactly, I am a solo player. Why can’t I just jump in a solo queue for trials like we can do for comp. If your team whens you keep going. Raids are different because you are learning a mechanic.

Travis, about Trials Rewards: I can guarantee when the best Loot is in the Chest, the Revovery/Streamer/Carry crew basically increases and so does the difficulty in ever getting there, thus an increase in Potential Revenue for Recov/Carry.
There HAS to be a skill-based system because I rarely see sweats vs sweats on cards,(currently player base is so low this is less of a thing, but that would change) usually sweats get 6 win runs against 1.0KDs.

Bungie said Ikora will be more involved in the game for the next few seasons. In the whisper mission there was a portal to Vog. Ikora had a strong connection to Io, so seeing her potentially trying to get back to Io from Vog would be very cool especially if Hive turn it into a War moon.
After the Light/Darkness saga, they should focus on the Nine. We haven't explored what they really want besides becoming a part of our reality. Maybe all the conflict between the Light an Darkness feeds them power to enter and control our reality.
It could introduce a new type of corruption like Revenant's of the Nine as a new enemy type. Just a thought.

I don’t know if (or how deep) in the minority I am here, but I’ll say it: This is the best trio I’ve seen on Fireteam Chat in a VERY long time.
In regards to the subclasses: would you rather see a rework to all the current subclasses or a new one with Witch Queen??
Damn... If I had to choose I'd say a rework to all existing subclasses. Seeing what has gone down with stasis, people love it or hate it. Adding another new subclass on top of it might just add to the fire.
I wish that both could happen, I won't hold too much hope. Good question🤙
If we get a new dark subclass in witch queen it'd probably be some like the damage thorn does and the titan will probably have a smash tied to it causing damage overtime

My counter to Travis’s statement at 55:00; I play rocket league a lot, yesterday I played a tournament with randoms, we won our first game, but in the second game one of our team left, we continued playing 2v3 until we reached the semi finals we lost and it was hella fun throughout, and I had the option to party with the person I was playing with to play other mods. I know rocket league isn’t a first person shooter, my point is just implement it, don’t overthink destiny, this will help destiny in the long term, make the priority to solo players who are matchmaking to match each other, then if no one is playing match them with teams.
Trials is a great mod, but it stayed the same since D1 with no evolutions literally this would help it a little to make it feel different and more enjoyable.
Sunsetting never made sense to me. They increased the recommended level of *everything*. Not just end game content. I couldn't even take my favorite gun into a public event without feeling significantly weaker. And they still never explained how sunsetting armor, which is just a skin with RNG stats, helped anyone.
I think the reason for only 10 levels per season is to not have to recode the gear power caps that are currently in the game. I think the gear that was gonna be sunset (3010) is considered to have reached its cap.

Elemental damage shouldn't automatically have effects, but there should be legendary perks that are specific to certain elements.

The thing about matchmaking and the spirit of trials... I don't play trials. I have most of the trials guns I want and I now I don't touch it. It's a pain in my neck to even approach the mode. Better for it to adapt and live then to die hated by a majority

For trails, better loot at the end of trails only leads to more recofs. think there must be more players. and you only get that when you start looking at trails from the 80% who can never get 7 wins. understand that the top 20% don't like it. but as long as you don't, only the top 20% percent will continue to play.
When I hear 10 power grind, I have PTSD from grinding Vault Of Glass to level up “1” at a time.

Bungie could try to add a new "black market" vendor in the Tower. A place where you can get upgrade materials in exchange for useless resources (Weapon Telemetries, Pure Matterglass Lenses, Finest Matterweaves, Rainmakers, Mod Components...)

Dinos have better helmets, but the monsters have the better body armor. Except for the Titan Megazord. That alone is worth the vote :)
In light of trials currently being canceled until further notice; I’d like to make some suggestions, on what I think “*Might*” improve the experience, & encourage new & lesser skilled players to jump into the playlist & earn their way to flawless.
(Unofficial Concepts & should be received as such)
*CARD SYSTEM:*
• Trials of Osiris no longer functions as a card based system.
*POINT SYSTEM:*
• Trials now functions from a point based system.
• Reach a score of 1,000 to go flawless
• Access the lighthouse when your score reaches 1,000
• Claiming your loot will reset your score back to 0
• Players will be unable to join matchmaking until their flawless rewards have been claimed
• Matches won award 100 points
• Matches lost award 50 points
*MATCHMAKING SKILL TIER SYSTEM:*
• Resetting your score increases your skill tier by +1
• Resetting your score at tier +1 increases to tier +2
• Resetting your score at tier +2 increases to tier +3
• You only match against equal or lesser tier players
• You can only earn tier +3 for that week
• Each flawless reset awards loot from the chest
• Lower tier players that teamup with higher tier players, will be placed in the higher tier matchmaking
As you climb higher through each tier, your loses become less rewarding, & can result in point depletion while in tier +3.
• “Tier 1”
rewards 50 points for each loss until your score reaches 300. When defeated You’ll never sink below 300. Wins will always award score 100 points. Defeats deducts 0 score points
• “Tier 2”
no score points will be awarded upon defeat. Wins will always award 100 score points. Defeats deduct 50 points
• “Tier 3”
Wins will always award 100 score points. 100 score points will be deducted upon defeat
*SAINT-14 PASSAGE SYSTEM:*
• Mercy forgives 1 loss & deducts 0 score points
• Ferocity grants an additional 100 on your 3rd win
• Confidence grants an additional flawless reward
• Wealth Increases your flawless tokens from 150 to 260
• Wisdom rewards more XP, scaling as you win matches
*SAINT-14 BOUNTY SYSTEM:*
• Bounties award 1 weekly weapon
• Bounties award 1 weekly armor
• Bounties award tokens
*LOOT SYSTEM:*
• Score points of 300 award 1st loot drop
• Score points of 500 award 2nd loot drop
• Score points of 700 award 3rd loot drop
• Score points of 1,000 award the lighthouse
• Score points reset to 0, at the end of the week
• Score Points Start at 0, at the start of the week
• Matches won award 5 tokens
• Matches lost award 1 token
• Matches lost after reaching 500 will not award/deduct points
*GUARANTEED FLAWLESS CHEST REWARDS:*
• 1 Adept weapon
• 1 Adept weapon mod
• 1 Masterworked high stat armor piece

*SYSTEM EXPLOIT CONCERNS:*
• “Jumping off the maps”
Punishable by applying a 20 minute account restriction if a common pattern is repeated, via jumping off the map, or killing yourself. No points are award for the individual player in question. Multiples infractions will result in a playlist ban for 24 hours.
• “Leaving or Disconnecting”
If your account shows a pattern of multi infractions, much like other game modes (gambit in particular) you’ll face a warning, which will lead to a playlist ban. More aggressive actions will be taken, if your account persists. No points will be award to your account.
• “AFK farming”
Standing idle in game will get you removed from the playlist & sent into orbit. You will not be award any points or loot. Repeated offenses will get you banned for the week.
• “Win trading”
Systematic flaw, currently being corrected by Bungie
• “Cheaters”
New accounts cannot enter trials matchmaking until a 72 hour bypass. In addition, your account will have to meet the current seasonal soft cap requirement. Furthermore; Trials will no longer be accessible for free to play accounts. Players will need to own “Shadowkeep | Beyond light” in order to access the playlist.
the "cover system" in outriders isn't for the player, its for the enemies you are fighting.
In Battleground, my Nightwatch does something similar to suppressing a combatant., Mr. Tie Guy. Sundering Glare is sooo good! It’s an Artifact mod. You may have missed it since Passive Guard is the thing. 🤗
As a solo pvp player, I would play a rumble version of trials 24/7. Also, I hope Bungie decides to address or remove the flawed team balancing algorithm from quickplay and gambit. It's the main reason why no longer play crucible. For some weird reason, the algorithm expects above average players to carry a team of lower skilled/new players against stacked teams every single match. It's a very frustrating experience to end every single match with 40+ kills, a positive kd, and still lose the match between my teammates appear to be new to the game and struggle to get more than 5 kills and go positive...It was difficult enough before beyond light but the introduction of Stasis makes it almost impossible because it lowers the skill gap. How is this fair to anyone? Quickplay should be connection based without any form of team balancing. I've tried playing on a friends account and the experience is completely different in quickplay and gambit - finding a match is extremely fast because it isn't trying to find new players to fill my time. Lastly, I really have no idea why the same team balancing algorithm is being used for gambit...

Outriders: I’m not interested in a game with no jumping. I love Destiny’s movement and I’m not interested in a game where you can’t jump.
Trials should not be farmable. The reason it's so bad right now is because the sweats enter and the sweats don't leave, get to the lighthouse once a weekend per character. If I can't run raids repeatedly and farm them why should Trials?

As someone who has every ornament set in the game there's no way I'm spending money or bright dust on the dino sets.
If they're earn-able of course, but silver or materials? No way!!!
I agree with Paul on Destiny’s future. If/when a Destiny rebrand and/or Destiny 3 comes I fully expected us to leave the Sol system. We get a new game, new engine, and all the new things they brought into D2: transmog, seasons, new ornaments, new weapons, mods, new/modified light & dark subclasses, cross play/cross save and whatever else new stuff they come up with.

Not only maps, PVP needs new modes. Iron Banner sucks because it is essentially the same as the Control that they push you to play as the main more of PVP.
Bungie should give us more legendary shards upon dismantling gear or increase the shard drop in the seasonpass.
Only sunset pinnacles and rituals but make them busted for the year they're out. That's such a small percent of the sandbox so that shouldn't be huge impact.

I think they planned this from the beginning regarding sunsetting. That's why they ended it so quickly. Enough people were asking for it, they knew it would be bad, they probably purposefully made it bad and then ended it and they are the heroes. They were never really invested in sunsetting to begin with. Wasn't hard to make that big of a decision that quickly when it was the plan all along.
I mean that trex was pretty great but team monster has deviljho which is basically a trex in monster form and green.... I dont know who to choose?!
During world's first, you should be able to get the Atheons Epilogue as a random drop for the first encounter but make it the only weapon that can take out the oracles. If it doesn't drop than you have to restart the raid until one of your firewall members have it lol

we need to go back to character leveling, with VERY heavy xp drops on completeting end game things.
let us choose the rewards sites instead of telling us with yellow flashing icons, its gettting old.
i miss the rpg charatcer leveling from 1-50, it was nearly perfect they just needed the xp payout from completing activities
Even going back on sunsetting now it still feels like it served its intended purpose, the problematic weapons still got hit, so I imagine Bungie were feeling ok about not going ahead with it

In my opinion, solo queue for Trials would be nice so I dont have to play Trials with my friends, who are terrible, and I wouldn't have to use LFG, which I dislike tremendously. That being said, though, I don't think that would solve the biggest part of the problem, which is that the reward structure is simply bad for most players. I think, at the very least, players should be able to get a bounty for a random weapon and a random armor piece every week, and there should also be occasional random Trials gear drops at the end of matches, which would further incentivise players to remain in the playlist. This would still allow for good teams to get to the lighthouse and have a more direct path to Trials gear, but bad teams would have a path to non-adept gear by persevering long enough to complete the two weekly bounties and maybe get lucky enough to get a random drop or two. I feel like these small changes would go a long way toward making the mode more palatable for non pvp players, and those of us already going flawless don't lose anything.
10 is better than grinding 50 then the 10 after.

it takes the whole season to do the pinnicale for solo players, GMs have been out of reach since the 50s grind came in.
Why not both the armor sets? They both look good.
To the elemental dmg discussion, what if they applied it to exotics? In D1 there was an exotic Arc Auto Rifle that chained arc dmg to nearby enemies. Add that elemental dmg to exotics at least, maybe the pinnacle/adept weapons, but to add it to all weapons seems like too much.
Same with Exotic Armor, make those pieces more resilient to the corresponding dmg type.
Also, my Bungie please, matchmaking for Dungeons. Please!
Does anyone know is Y1 (now sunset) armours will be able to be used for transmog? Will I be able to adopt the look of my Y1 prestige leviathon or Solstice armours again?
Remember that trials only needed 5 Wins in D1 (you got 3 Wins for the first one with boons.)
They should probably bring back all weapons for dreaming city, moon, and tangled shore if sunsetting is gone
Trials match making should allow 1 back out per weekend to account for say a powercut, internet going out or a life situation that needs to be attended to. If you back out a 2nd time in a weekend your locked out of Trials for that weekend, so if you select solo match making your commited to the card win or lose.
I told my fire team the same thing about the warlock being a pterodactyl since the "fly" around! LoL
A fourth element (stasis) might make osmosis perk on kinetic weapons meta (or at least finally useful) for solo players.
For me personally I would like to see the XP taken out of bounties and let us level up by playing the way we want to play. I hate having to go into activities I don't like and have to use weapons I don't want to use. Bounties also force us to play badly. We have to compete with each other instead of cooperate.
As far as the power grind goes, I'm one of the minority that really enjoys grinding power level. So keeping at least a +10 grind is fine for me. Keeps me focused on a goal for 4-6 weeks.

Best way to fix trials stuff. Have the rejoining work like comp. If you alt f4 or shut the game down. It will auto load you in whatever character was in the match. Unless you manually returned to orbit then you cant rejoin period. That's simple
My clan leader had an interesting take on the armors. Since they ask you which class you main she's thinking they may give us the armor that wins for each class. Like Titan Dino is going to win obviously, but what if monster Hunter beats out Hunter Dino? Maybe they'd release them like that instead of sets.
Announcing the delay now takes any possible annoyance away, as 12 months is basically the same as 9 months to our monkey brains

Not gonna lie,I think if they're gonna have solo trials playlist the flawless reward should be the same weapon as the normal flawless weapon but have a pinnacle and adept perk on it like pinnacle on first slot then adept perk on the second slot would be interesting and more rewarding for having to deal with going flawless in the solo playlist. PS. I miss pinnacle perks and another thing because we have the token system they should keep all trials weapons even from older seasons in case some people aren't able to play a season in the loot pool sense sunsetting is going away.
I hope Destiny becomes like WoW in that it becomes a game that gets updates after aa decade of being out
Levelling up just seems like an arbitrary barrier to play now. It never feels like you are actually progressing in power like it did in early D1.
I could kill a hive god but I can somehow be taken out by a Minotaur? The story doesn't help with that, but it could at least be something that makes sense with the lore somehow.
Also, how about a Vault update. While viewing Vault to equip something: Hold A.
