It's great to see more people going out on a limp and having support for their decision to buy a Tesla even though they are not officially in the country. I remember one of your guest who was one of the earliest Tesla owners in Malaysia. Your channel was so new then! I look forward to Tesla coming to Malaysia and I hope Singapore owners as they grow will encourage Tesla to create Super Charging Stations in Malaysia since there is so much boarder crossing between the two countries.
I currently stay in a very old condo and was super surprised to see a plug-in hybrid parked here. I presume the owner had gotten permission from the JMB to install a charger for his/her PHEV. The cable and charging box is kept inside an electronic safe that was customised with little holes in the back and at the corner of the safe door for the cables to go thru. IMO this is an ingenious solution for high rise residents to charge their EV. This is provided the JMB allows. That said, new high rise developments are coming with charging stations now.
Agree, Raaj! It’s important for other OEMs like Proton and Perodua to introduce more affordable EVs at prices below RM150k. Until that happens, the smaller luxury segment will help spur the initial EV charging infrastructure in Malaysia.
Hi Daren, I believe you aware that some of the China EV car have lifetime warranty for battery, why Tesla have lifetime warranty for battery? may I know what time the price of the battery in Ringgit? Thank you
I think the deal breaker is after 8 years , when the battery is out of warranty, do the EV car still have 2nd hand value ? If the market can solve this issue , it will be more and more people willing to change to EV ..
We already have Tesla's that are out of warranty that still have value, just check the used car prices if you can find one for sale. People keep these cars well pass the warranty period. The battery is still great even after the warranty period so, it's not been an issue.
I'm curious if tesla can do autopilot in Malaysia, I heard that the Malaysian law doesn't allow autopilot or car self driving in Malaysia, is that true?
Hi Daren, love your video! May I know where to repair for tesla if encountered serious issue relating to battery, mcu and motor? Anywhere in Malaysia can handle this or we need to send back to the origin country to handle?
Thanks Kingsley! It’s best to speak with the distributor on what’s the best approach. Major issues may require sending back to origin country (I understand many distributors in Malaysia allow for 1 trip), and smaller issues can be managed in KL. The local Tesla Owners community or MyEVOC club on Facebook can help too. All the best!
Hey Daren make some video on current market situations and topics, no one wants to see this kind of videos now as all are worried about market situation.
There’s a very different world between TSLA owners and Tesla owners. Demand for Tesla is very high now. There are many good channels covering the latest TSLA news (Tesla Daily and Dave Lee on Investing). I believe it’s also helpful for long-term investors to also truly understand why Tesla’s products and services resonate so much. Will have a new video tonight on TSLA stock in a bear market.
The battery pack of an EV is so heavy that it's equal to the weight of six adults that's before the real passengers sit in. The US government will "surprisingly" announce later the repair cost of roads and bridges have tripled because of the impact the millions of EVs have had on the infrastructure not to mention ecological disaster that is involved in making and dumping the EV batteries. FUN FACT: If we take curb weight to be 25% extra for Telsa Model S compared to Toyota Camry thats 550 kilograms or 1200 lb which is the weight of SIX Americans on diet 🤣🤣🤣
FUD! Batteries are too precious to be dumped, they have so much value that recycling of batteries is what is already happening IF you can get your hands on one since they are often salvaged for 2nd life use as battery back up for homes storage for solar.
They are the EV Champion in Malaysia 🇲🇾

Agree, D R-K! I believe it’s a matter of when, and not if.
Daren, two more Tesla ambassadors!! Great guys, fun to watch. You're killing it! Congrats... SoCal Freddy
So happy to see Malaysia is adopting alternate fuel vehicles
Great info - suggest making onsite videos on the various charging stations throughout the country that would be helpful too in trip planning. Syabas!

The main problem is that, Tesla is not affordable in Malaysia. A model 3 instalment per month is around rm3k. If it’s affordable surely we will buy it

Can we get a tesla without sun roof?
Gr8 review! I wonder the cost of buying one
RM285k+ in Malaysia for a Tesla Model 3: www.mudah.my/malaysia/cars/tesla/model-3
@@DarenYoong which better, tesla or volvo xc or c40?🥹😉
Just wondering what is a "great importer", if that's the correct word I kept hearing.. And any example companies? Thanks!
It’s grey importers (or some call it parallel importers), and an example company would be Zaibar Automobile in Malaysia.
I have a question. If map is not available in malaysia, can tesla still do full self driving?
I believe Full Self-Driving doesn't work in Malaysia yet, only Autopilot.
@@DarenYoong what can autopilot do? Do we need to pay extra for it?
Tesla boleh la la bro
