- Bone Shaker is a downhill double black diamond trail in the Cowboy Trails system west of Las Vegas. Some say its some of the most challenging riding around the entire area so I had to check it out. They were not lying! To get there, you must climb up! It is a very challenging climb but the reward for being on top of the mesa and feeling like you're riding down off the edge of a cliff that never comes is something other-wordly! I definitely recommend this trail if you're visiting Las Vegas. There are also a couple other double blacks that go the same direction, so once you're on top you have your choice of pain :) I took Bunny trail to Fossil Canyon then SARS (with a few pieces of other trails sprinkled in) to get to the top. Chunky SHARP rocks here, but the views and feelings of being in the middle of nowhere are worth it. Enjoy!

Bone Shaker was one of my favorite trails when I used to live in Vegas. It's not joke. You did really well for a blind first run.
Thank you, definitely a trail that needs to be ridden more than once
I was pretty close to Cowboy Trails when I lived there in '05-'10. Boneshaker was one of those trails that was mostly a black with some double black gnar you can always walk. I didn't see it on the vid but I remember about a 4 foot drop to a steep gravely runout. Pretty ridiculous stuff, props for dropping in and riding it blind!
Thank you, and I did see that huge drop onto the cliff side covered in loose gravel, I walked down around that and didn’t include it on the vid. I should have showed it!
Vegas is so under rated for everything, especially the riding. Boneshaker is a good time, such good riding in Vegas
It was so good!
@@Sara.Jo. Did you ride Ebb n Flow, Break it Till you Make it, Trail mix, or the trails at the Burbs? like No dabs, Wicked Garden, Shared Delusion or Supply Chain?
No I did not, but I will definitely ride those when I go back!
@@Sara.Jo. Maybe we will roll!
You are doing great super chill. I like it.
Thank you 😁
Nothing like waking up with a cup of coffee and one of your soothing😂 videos, let's see how we do today. Thanx for all the info
No problem, thanks for watching!
Solid Ride.
I’m off tomorrow for the west coast and can’t wait to get some climb on my rides.
Fla is great but it’s all XC.
Cheers.
I love FL riding, but I agree…no real grueling climbs. Thanks for the watch 😊
Thanks!
Wow, thank you! 😊
That is a nice trail, I was out there last year. I got lost a few time and the weather kept me off of Bone Shaker lol. I still had a blast! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks!
I think you are getting faster. 👍
Haha, I feel a little faster 😬
I really enjoyed Ebb’n Flow when I rode there recently.
Nice I’ll have to check that out next time I’m there
1. Collaboration with April Zastrow?
2. Can we call them Jo-Laborations?
Great riding again!!
1. I don’t know who that is, I’ll have to look it up.
2. Sure 😂
Thanks!
Stop by in Kingman and ride the Whitecliffs if you're looking for tech riding.
Thank you for the recommendation, ill check it out next time I’m that way
I used to live in Summerlin, These trails are my favorite. your riding is awesome.
If you need a good bike shop visit Las Vegas Cyclery. also some good trails out of Blue Diamond. Enjoy L.V.
Thank you, and thanks for the recommendations!
If you're still in the area, go back to the parking lot and climb Kibbles-n-bits (techy climb) to Goat Roper (climbing but not as techy) to Flow Job, which has theeee best flow anywhere around there. You can do a reverse route out or roll along the highway back to your truck afterward. Southwest Ridge is also really cool. It has spectacular views of the Vegas Valley. I was just there riding a few weeks ago. Just missed you, lol!
Damnit, I’ll have to make a point and go back. Definitely will ride there again!
Awesome video and riding. The blue trail you were riding would definitely be a double black diamond here in middle Georgia if we had double black diamond trails 😂. The view from the mesa was beautiful. Pedal safe
Haha right…it’s crazy how some regions vary. I can’t wait to ride the east coast again and see how I stack up after being out here
Nice ride. If you pass through St. George UT, the Zen trail is worth a look.
Funny, I just did that and I’m making a video very soon on it!
Good job once again. Have you done a bike check ?
Thank you! No…keep thinking about it though, eventually I will
🤜🤛
😁
Nice! I was just there. Now head over to bootleg canyon. Really steep and chunky. It will destroy your tires. Haha
Awesome, thanks for the tip. I just got new tires and my back one’s already starting to get eaten 😑
@@Sara.Jo. You're welcome. Same. Put a new back tire on when I came to the desert. Seems about 70% gone. Be safe out there.
I watch it just for your breathing
Creepy and hilarious 😐
so i rode cowboy trails recently. i was planning to ride bone shaker as well. unfortunately my derailleur broke as i was 90% of the way up kibbles n bits. as the derailleur broke it took out 2 spokes and the broken spokes let all the air out of the tire. i had to walk 3.5 miles back to the van 😂 btw lots of ebikes out there … maybe they know something
Hahah no way, that sounds terrible to walk the bike down that trail for that far! Tempting not to just lay down and wait for the vultures during something like that 😅
@@Sara.Jo. right!? i feel like no one understood my despair at the time! 😂
Like it 5:18
Every UA-camr should run an Onyx rear hub. LOL
Yeah. I know it’s loud, I’ll may look into something more quiet!
@@Sara.Jo. i got sick of the load hubs years ago. I looked at something Shimano was supposed to come out with but never did. Then I found Onyx Racing Hubs.
They are quiet, strong, and instant engagement. I run them on all of my bikes.
Going up kipples n bits is the best option.
Damnit, I debated that. Next time!
@@Sara.Jo. it’s a tough climb but maybe the best climb in southern Nevada. Next time you could check out the burbs another great trail network!
You could of went to bootleg canyon and tried. Lon as your riding that's all that matters anyway lol
Yeah I’ll go back and ride bootleg. There’s not real good boondocking that way, so it’s more logistical.
