Profiling is how loss prevention works. Their job is to profile and try to figure out who are potential criminals and keep an eye on them. Nothing wrong with profiling.
@@abikeanditsboy3449yes and know like if the profiling is based in practicality sure there’s no problem. But if it’s based on something as ambiguous as gender or race it’s extremely problematic and potentially harmful for innocent people
Theyre not, theyre just being manipulative. You know the type. The second they would have ever gotten away, they would be laughing and acting like tough guys sayin "F the pigs" and stuff.
In all fairness, they're not the only ones lol. I'm just as amazed as them when they get arrested, particularly with the progressive DAs & prosecutors taking a page out of the Commifornia handbook of not arresting & charging theft crimes that don't exceed above the retail value of $1,000, and that's per crime, not accumulatively over several theft crimes. And judging by their discussions about the value total her thefts came to, it seemed to apply her as the officer when informed of the 988 dollars retail theft value, he scrunched up his face saying "ooooh" as if to indicate that's just below the 1,000 dollar minimum before legal action can be enacted.
If she had just talked to the officers normally & calmly & told them she planned on buying all that merchandise, maybe she could have gotten away with it. But then there was the other possibility, once the cops found she had only bus fair in her wallet & a photo of her boyfriend & his pet tarantula, all bets were off.

That is kind of strange on it's face, but it is different for addicts. They hate the idea of not being able to use for any length of time. I am actually being serious. Addiction is so strong when a person is in it's grip, that it is panic inducing to realize you will be confined with no ability to satisfy the craving.

Haha what is funny is that she is technically right. She was guilty of theft. You are only shoplifting if you leave the store. It's like how people use burglary and robbery interchangeable when they are actually 2 separate things. The fact that she knows that distinction (that almost nobody would) shows how many times she's been in trouble for both shoplifting and theft in the past.

Let me start by saying that I do NOT condone any illegal activity, nor do I support any type of blatant fuckery. That being said, your comment reads like it was written by an individual who knows very little, if anything, about American jurisprudence… For starters, just because someone is charged with something doesn’t mean that there’s the requisite evidence to convict. Furthermore, you’re failing to consider any mitigating factors, plea agreements, sentencing considerations, etc. As an attorney with over 20 years of litigation experience, I struggle to wade through the lunacy of the bootlicking community. The cops aren’t always right, quite the opposite actually. I couldn’t even begin to list the number of cases I’ve encountered where officers tampered with body/dash cam footage, planted/fabricated evidence, perjured themselves, intimidated suspects/witnesses, solicited charges, offered leniency in exchange for sexual favors, committed assault/battery/murder and on and on. This community insists that the focus and scrutiny remain ONLY on the “criminals” without ever seeing the irony of it all. The truth (and this is supported by facts compiled from across the country by the DOJ, FBI, DHS and other governmental agencies) is that the most dangerous criminal organization in America today is law enforcement. I won’t take up more time explaining the myriad criminal enterprises law enforcement is involved in or how we know about them, but if anyone is curious, I am more than happy to walk you through the entirety of the reports and explain some of the more complicated legal concepts in plain English.
I used to work in a grocery store and had to let so many shop lifters go. As a Manager is enraged me so much... So seeing the lady tackled the ground with two big bags of stolen goods... Gave me a sense of justice.
Our store can legally detain them. I work near the door and get to witness this drama often! The best part is when they say "you can't touch me!" because they're misinformed about the laws and are led off in handcuffs after being wrestled to the floor. Sometimes I act as a witness and listen to them go on and on with their lies and sob stories. Whoever they're with always takes off. We detained someone once who failed to scan one of their Kool-aids at the self checkout. They had warrants and were detained for police....Kool-aid theft was not what got them arrested. It's kind of amazing how many people can't make it in life. Don't want to work to take care of themselves. Its so easy, boredom is the main problem at work!! Just my opinion.
I love it when characters from previous episodes return. It just gives so much more depth to the cinametic universe and really makes it seem as if Wisconsin was a real place. Kudos to the writers of this show.
I want to agree with you but for the most part their crimes have not been inherently violent (though clearly Dakota is getting there with the threats). Sending them to prison, with the state that the corrections system is in right now? They'd be out in a year or two having learned to be better criminals.
I think you still don't get it. What a wonderful mental health system. In other words, there isn't one. Why should the criminal justice system be in the business of treating drug addiction? Seems like a very inefficient, wasteful and expensive solution for a problem largely being ignored. I still can't figure out why Americans want to solve all of our nation's problems with jail? Most civilized countries actually have mental health treatment available for people like this. You really think jail will change them, treat them, stop them from committing the same crimes when they get out? All the while you're paying huge taxes to imprison them. Great solution.
@@Tryst1982 Their main "crime" is getting addicted to meth, heroin, fentanyl and everything else. If you haven't noticed, many people can't control themselves when they have access to these kinds of drugs and prison isn't going to change that and likely will only make it worse since there's so many drugs and crime in prison. @@MichaelSheffield-ox8yd . The political leadership in Wisconsin that passed the laws making it so easy for criminals was during Republican Governor Scott Walkers 8 years in Office. During those 8 years and even as of today the Wisconsin state government is led by Republicans in both the State Senate and the State General Assembly. Democrats have been the minority party ruling the state government for the last 25 years since there was a Democratic controlled state Senate. It was your G.O.P. elected governor, and state senators and state assemblymen that passed the criminal reform act that allows these criminals to walk in and out of jail every week with new charges. So if you are gonna just say dumb things to sound cool and try to make a political point at least make sure you check your facts. See I could say that Republicans are the biggest supporters of child se*ual abuse being that former G.O.P speaker of the House ( and 3rd in line for the Presidency ) Dennis Haystert was convicted of abusing young boys that he coached in wrestling in high school. Or Florida Rep Matt Gaetz who was investigated for having relationships with females under the age of 18 during drug fueled parties while pumping these teen girls full of cocaine and ecstacy... And speaking of Republicans and your "tough on crime fascade" look back to every federal government conviction since Reagan's Presidency. There have been 41% more elected and appointed republicans that have pled guilty or been convicted of federal crimes then Democrats. And the high crime Democrat controlled areas myth was busted several years ago when Trump ( the biggest criminal of all ) ordered his justice department with his hand picked leader to assemble a national crime report to prove how much "safer" GOP governed areas are. He did that ahead of the expected Blue Wave in the mid terms because hia advisors warned him the only way to try to win House seats was by showing Democrats are soft on crime. Well, the report came back and he tried to bury it due to the results but a major newspaper received a copy and it showed that out of the top 10 most violent states per Capita that bright red states with long term Republican Control ( at least 3 consecutive G.O.P. Governors and 3 consecutive GOP Senate and assembly control ) that 8 of the top 10 states were red, G.O.P. strongholds. The most dangerous of the Democratic areas didn't even show up until 7th place and that was Illinois due to Chicago ). So based on population you are more likely to be a victim of violent crime in places like Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, Indiana, Alabama, and several other GOP strongholds then your idea of the most lawless, liberal run cesspool. I'm sure things like the facts I just told you won't change your mind and you will ignore the data and truth and just continue to stick your head in the sand while yelling about the "crime supporting Democrats" but at least now you have been educated.

Over 20 charges for theft total, just unbelievable. As someone who has never been arrested, it’s truly unfathomable. That’s JUST for retail theft 😳, not the litany of other charges you know she has had previously (most likely drug possession, trespassing, DUI, public intoxication). Astounding how these states make so many daily arrests, but it leads to truly nothing. Not a single jail sentence, just a wag of the finger & “don’t do that again”, only to see the exact same person mere hours later.
Maybe because that doesn’t solve the problem either. The underline causes need to be addressed. Addiction services, education reform, more serious action taken against abusive and neglectful parents, foster system reform, making for profit prisons and “recovery” centers illegal, decriminalizing the drugs themselves, cracking down on the dealers and traffickers in a more effective way, making it easier for people to seek help, more job placement funding, and universal healthcare that covers everything including mental health services….would be a start. Along with that, people have to stop caring about “parties” and obligation to support certain people because of pride and ignorance. People need to learn to research their politicians and officials, and vote for the ones that demand action. Yelling that they need to imprison everyone when there are clear causes for those behaviors does nothing but perpetuate recidivism. If anything has caused the problems we have today, it’s corruption, willful ignorance, and profit. Yet, those that are the angriest tend to vote against their own cause. 🤷🏼♀️ Nothing will change until we do.

See I could say that Republicans are the biggest supporters of child se*ual abuse being that former G.O.P

Yep, you got it. Sickening, isn't it.
