The two greatest musical heroes for me are Will Oldham and Townes van Zandt. It was always a dream of mine to hear and see both of them singing together.
I find it incredible how similar Andrew looks to the young Townes, except for the hair color (obviously). Andrew looks almost like a reincarnation of Townes van Zandt. And this great Greatful Dead cover does its part to make me almost believe I can see and hear my two heroes singing together. Well done Andrew!

@@AndrewCharmhart in all seriousness I was brought up with listening to the Grateful Dead here in the U.K. Sadly my father now has late stage Alzheimer’s so in trying to remember what he was like before we dug out some old photos from a holiday in Northern Spain around 1995. We were both wearing Grateful Dead tie die T-shirts including the spiral bears, Space your face, a rollercoaster with bears n skeletons and a really cool Garcia Band one that drew the attention of an American chic on the same holiday. Truly sucks seeing him like he is, so seeing the brilliant Will Oldham and yourself do such a respectful cover and video was the catalyst for digging out those photos

You have my respect and empathy for also having seen your grandma go through it. Tell you what though, whenever we feel down or feel like complaining about our lot it’s worth reminding ourselves that they didn’t have a choice in the Matter to put things into perspective👍
One thing that this video has done imo, has shown the brilliant Will Oldham in a light hearted fashion. How much of Bonnie Prince Billy is Will Oldham or a genius character is something I’ve never been able to work out.
