    I'm in the first months with the IO5. The App / Brush communications are terrible. The brush itself does a wonderful job. Using the App for position tracking is spotty at best with the upper right section being the default position detected. It takes at least 3 minutes to get 100% coverage in all of the six zones. Some times I get a scolding for brushing past 4 minutes trying to get the coverage. Additionally, although the session indicates 100% coverage with all the flashing lights, the session may or not be recorded and may show-up on the previous day. The support website lists these as being a problem they are working on????🤐🤐

    Thank you for the reviews!
    I wanted to replace my Oral B Vitality to a quiter model and found your research regarding the noise rate. I knew that the budget models are always louder, but I was surprised to know that my model is really that loud. Then I decided to check io4 and io5, and I like the way you review products. Thank you for that.
    I wanted to purchase io4 as I expected it to be cheaper, but didn't find it. So, I will buy io5 for around 85$. Then I will share my experience regarding the noise rate comparison and other things.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  5 місяців тому

      You could look at the iO3 too. That's generally the cheapest iO model. It's just as loud as the iO4 and 5, but quieter than the Vitality. It does not have Bluetooth though.
      I'm glad you've found the videos helpful.

      How is it going?

    • @ryukusu_luminarius
      @ryukusu_luminarius 3 місяці тому

      @@Carol263Zim I would say iO5 is really quieter than Oral B Vitality. The pressure sensor is nice. However, now, there is more vibration for teeth, especially the front ones. The feeling for the front teeth is like I'm playing several teeth vargans at the same time.
      I had to find a way to make it better by holding the brush a certain way (hold it by the end, not by the center). Also, there are different cleaning modes, and gentle mode is bearable. If you switch from Vitality or similar brushes, it is better to use that mode at the beginning of using that brush.
      Also, I learned that Oral B Vitality can be even louder because of the cheaper brush heads! After the original one expired, I bought a cheaper replacement. And after some time I noticed that the brush is too loud for my ears. But I didn't realize that until a relative showed me a similar model with the original head.
      If I knew that I could buy the original brush heads and that iO5 vibrates the teeth too much, probably, I wouldn't buy iO5.
      Anyway, I will stick to the brush I bought. Most likely, I will use the gentle mode and sometimes switch to the normal mode as it cleans better than the gentle mode and than Vitality.

    Thanks for all the info... after watching many of videos of Electric Teeth and others I have placed and order for a i05. I have been using manual toothbrushes all my life and well I always brush in the morning I find myself from time to time skipping the brush before bed after a long day so I hope the now getting a electric brush I can just hold and move around with out a lot of back and forth will get me brushing more before bed. I'm happy to hear about it saving the last cleaning mode used and the fact it will tell me when to replace the brush heads. I think I will like the images for the menu as well and well the brush heads are like $30 give or take a few bucks that for 12 months so after looking at the 1500 I just got the i05 as I think this will be the best for my wants and use case but, I do think you're right that the 1500 is a great bang for buck.

    Hello! I have a question- I have sensitive gums and my dentist recommends using a soft toothbrush head. Since this toothbrush has 2 modes for sensitivity (Sensitive and Super sensitive) would you suggest keeping the current brush head that comes with the toothbrush and clean in those modes or get a sensitive toothbrush head and continue using the sensitive modes? Thanks!

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Рік тому +1

      To be honest there is no completely correct answer here, because there are many variables. But, our preference would be the soft brush head (Gentle Care) and then one of the sensitive cleaning modes.
      If you are already using the supplied Ultimate clean brush head, as long as you are happy, you might as well get the usable life out of that head (3 months) before switching.

      It is entirely up to you. Most dentists prefer/recommend the softer head. But, if you have a CrossAction head at the moment, and find it a bit hard, then use the sensitive mode with this head. When it is time to swap replace it with a Sensi UltraThin /Pro GumCare head and change the cleaning mode back to daily clean.

    Hi Jon, good morning and happy Sunday! I want to ask kindly you a question about this particular model. I just bought via Amazon as a replacement of a Philips Sonicare 5100 that I had, because sadly the metal end broke internally. I was very surprised with the first use of the Oral-B iO Series 5 (before first using it, I left it charged for +16 hours, as instructed), but the thing that I noticed was that the battery drained very quickly after each session (my usual time of use is between 2 to 2:20 minutes, and I do brush my teeth 3 times per day), and after 5 days of usage, the battery was at 22% and the “Low Power” notification appeared on the app. So my question is it is normal that battery life lasts that short in accordance to my usage or is something wrong with the device? Also, I asked you this because with the Sonicare, the battery lasted for 10 days, with the same usage as I mentioned before. As a parenthesis I’m a huge fan from Mexico of your channel and it has been very helpful and informative your videos; thank you in advance for your kind support and I will remain attentive to your comments 😊

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  6 місяців тому +1

      Hey. So, I achieved up to 17 days based on 2 cleans per day, each 2 minutes in length. If you brush 3 times a day, then in theory you should expect around 11 days, maybe 9-10 when you consider you might be brushing for 2.20 seconds.
      So, on this basis 5 days use and 22% does seem a bit odd.
      I would give it a bit more time. Perhaps recharge the battery fully and then see how the next week or two weeks of use compares. It may improve.

    There are few things that needs to be fixed.
    1- It doesn't quite detect where I'm brushing. It takes 3-4 minutes to reach 100% coverage even though I brush 100%
    2- It splashes everywhere. You have to keep your mouth closed and it’s hard to brush some areas with closed mouth.
    3- After 2 minutes you can’t pause toothbrush to spit. It stops your brushing session and gives you low brushing point.
    4- Toothpaste disappears after first area and you continue your brushing without toothpaste or little toothpaste

      I switched to the IO 5 from the oral b 3500. I've always use sensitive head brushes on both. I barely feel the IO on my teeth and gums yet my teeth feel much cleaner. If you keep your mouth open with the IO toothpaste will splash violently out your mouth and make a mess this was not an issue with the older 3500. The IO models is 100% worth it even if you do not plan on using the app. @@edekker1625

      Hi David. It is in theory fine to leave on the charger all the time, because the brush stops charging once the battery is full.
      Personally I tend not to, or at least unplug the charger as you get a couple of weeks from it on a full charge. There is little evidence to say conclusively but I think you will get better long term life from the battery, if it isn't always being topped up. hi @ElectricTeeth i own the IO 6 for couple years now, and realised that when i travel, since the brush has gyroscope it gets the display turned on constantly so if i travel for many hours i get to destination with almost no battery, that makes it impossible for me to take it without the charging cable. A great question. I have to be honest this is a tricky one for me to answer conclusively. The iO5 will turn on the lights on the handle when picked/moved with some force. However, light touches and less vigorous movement doesn't activate it. It has the gyroscope etc to make the real-time tracking work. However, I would say the sensitivity is less than the iO6. Thanks, currently a new Professional 1000 is 50$ CAD and a iO3 is 80$, i wouldn't mind paying 80$ but it's the price of the brush that are hefty, does the whitening feature of the iO 3 work well because that and the 2 min light ring pulse is what perhaps would make me go with a iO 3. @@ElectricTeeth

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  6 місяців тому

      You are not going to achieve much better whitening or cleaning results with the iO3 compared to the Pro 1000. If whitening is your aim, you are better off looking at whitening strips etc.
      As a rough guide, iO brush heads cost twice as much as the heads for the Pro 1000.

    Should i get this or the oral b 7500? Which do you think is better?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  7 місяців тому +1

      'Better' depends on your personal needs/wants. They clean comparably. The iO5 has some advantages, including be a bit quieter and a touch more gentle on the teeth and gums. But, the brush heads are usually twice the price.

    How to know we have completed 2mins? Does the colour changes?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Рік тому +3

      At 2 minutes the brush head pauses briefly 3 times and the sound and brushing sensation changes as a result.
      Once you turn the brush off, the coloured ring around the top will run through a rainbow sequence to confirm you have brushed for the right time.

    Genius x or 5ios? I need it for the cleaning not features

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  4 місяці тому

      Cleaning results are comparable. iO heads are 2x the cost of those for the Genius. So the Genius is likely going to work out better value.

    Can you turn off the Bluetooth if not needed whilst the brush is on?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  11 місяців тому

      Yes.
      Bluetooth is enabled on the iO5 toothbrush by default. You may enable/ disable Bluetooth at any time by pressing the on/off button for 5 seconds. Deactivation is indicated by a blue fade-out illumination.

      Yes, I think so (without double checking the manual for each). But , it kind of defeats one of the main selling points for the iO in the first palce.

    • @ElectricTeeth

      The icons relate to the cleaning modes. We didn't feel it was necessary to be quite so specific about this in the video. Nonetheless.
      Daily Clean - Tooth
      Sensitive - Feather
      Super Sensitive - Feather and the Plus (+) icon beneath the feather
      Whitening - Diamond

    In my opinion, Pro3 is highly noisy and it makes your skull shake like an earthquake whilst io5 does not do any of those.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  6 місяців тому +2

      Fair enough. We do comment on the noise, but for many people this is not a big issue and the cost savings of the Pro 3 are beneficial.
