    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  6 років тому

      Blade compatibility is very important do consider if you have a ton of blades already. Not so much if you plan on getting all new blades with the new tool.

    • @BuDWiskey
      @BuDWiskey 6 років тому

      FYI - just order the kit. Couldn't resist. I think I'll be standardizing on the "starlock" system now - they're good blades anyhow. Thx again!

    great review with all good relevant information. Diablo (Freud) now makes some great looking blades for this tool. The Starlock feature is one of the main reasons I will buy this tool.

    good review and I just bought the tool...very good tool and excellent design. I am surprised that you didn't mention the almost 14' cord on this machine which is quite considerable compared to Bosch's competitors.

      Thanks, it is mentioned in the beginning at the start of the video in the specs list and yes it is a very long cord, good point!

    Always like your reviews Javier. I’m on the verge of getting the EC 18v version. I’m not in Bosch but I picked up some battery/charger packs on clearance at Lowes knowing I’m interested in the cordless multitool. I’ve had the Ridgid Jobmax for some time now and I’m not all that happy with it. I also know that dewalt’s brushless version is one of the best, but I’m kinda thinking I’d like to get away from a trigger switch, and I am interested in vibration dampering qualities. I’m also not in Dewalt but at this point I don’t mind buying into new platforms since I’m already in Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid, and Ryobi. Any feedback on this matter? I haven’t considered Milwaukee or Makita because I want to stick brushless and many options are old technology. Thank you.

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  6 років тому

      I reviewed the new Bosch 18V cordless version with starlock here: toolcraze.net/bosch-18v-ec-brushless-multitool-gop18v-28-starlock-mount-review/ and it's as good as this corded version.
      I also reviewed the Makita 18V as well as Milwaukee m12 here on youtube, check out my channel for those videos if interested.
      Personally I don't like triggers on multitools, hate it. I think it's the stupidest idea for a multitool and yes I've tried the ridgid corded version and hated having to press the trigger the entire time, so I would not like the one on the Dewalt. But that's my personal opinion on triggers for multitools, if you've tried it and liked it, go for it.

    • @82camino96
      @82camino96 6 років тому

      Tool Craze thanks brother. Yeah I’m not a fan either. The only upside is that usually the triggered tools have more compact grips. I see that kobalt has one out that actually seems to be a darn well designed multi tool. Switch and dial style but with a more ergonomic grip, but there’s not much user feedback out there on it. I’m pretty sure I’ll get the Bosch. I wouldn’t mind being in the platform anyway so I can open up my options. I did notice recently that you put up a couple quick videos showing the EC Bosch, but I’ll have to check out your review. Thanks again, much appreciated.

    I'm wondering how much the led adds to the functionality of this, or any multi-tool? I often find myself kneeling in dim light cutting something, and my current older Bosch doesn't have a light. I just threw away my first Rockwell multi-tool I bought in 2009, because I had to tap it with a hammer at the gear area to get it started. I bought the Bosch in 2011, and I love the OIS blade holding system, but the allen wrench blade changing is a real pain.

      Your old multiool likely had worn brushes if you had to tap it at the gear area to get it started. Often times these can be replaced. Something to keep in mind with your new multitool and other electrical tools.

    Yea get ready to pay 10 plus dollars per blade. It does not take long for the price of the tool to be paid for just in a few blades. I own one and bought a Craftsman for 80 dollars and attached a 2 dollars after market blade and it works fine.

    • @ToolCraze

      Only Star lock and star lock plus blades will work. Any brand that makes those works because the Star lock Mount is a standard. So far only companies making Star lock Mount blades are Bosch, Fein, and Frued Diablo

    I'm a lifelong Bosch fan.....but as all businesses do some products are made in Malaysia (fail) they try to keep the quality high to be fair but Bosch isn't what it used to be. I live in Germany and work in Stuttgart Bosch offices there in Weilimdorf...all good, but when its made in Malaysia? common former W germnany. People buy expensive well engineered gear that works. look at Dyson! is cheap plastic shit now, even sharp bits of flimsy plastic that will break (operations moved abroad for more profit) safe shit happens ALL the time.
    Stihl (I think they are doing well...hmmmm I wonder why)

    • @ccmogs5757
      @ccmogs5757 5 років тому +1

      True - a true British company DYSON , gone abroad but the (now) owners still expect that massive profit the name carries - as for my GOP40-30 i"d gladly pay a little- bit more to see "germany" on it :)

    • @grahamnumber7123
      @grahamnumber7123 5 років тому

      me too CC MOGS. I got the 55 in the end and it's decent - that unit is made in Hungary! haha the box can stack onto some other bosch tool box but it's way over sized for he contents.

    • @ccmogs5757
      @ccmogs5757 5 років тому

      Yep , plus as you know the 40-30 is "Hungary" also & my gsb18V-EC is "malaysia" wish they were "germany" like my gbh2-20 & older tools - most people think because its bosch its automatically german made but sadly its not true , plus as you know the 2-20 is now made in russia ! :)

    • @grahamnumber7123
      @grahamnumber7123 5 років тому

      Russia! haha ok...Hey don't knock the Russians - remember they see the 1% capital rich own 85% of the words money - crazy but worryingly true - just watch shit on tv, be happy u HAVE work and be quiet. My CEO earns 66K Euro a day - a genius of course that needed other CEO buddies to say "We should listen to our customers more" - took him 5 years to figure they pay HIS wages too but actually that's where it goes wrong even here in Germany sadly becoming more "Global" There must be something between socialism and Greed gone man
      I say keep everything in house.. food, industry, manufacturing, of course some resources we don't have in Germany, but manage Germany could!
      I'm British and from an old Europe where everyone watched the problems (yes France I am taking about YOU after WW1 - had it coming) in Germany and did nothing to help the people.. no wonder a passionate guy with a an odd moustache ended up in power but with other ideas beyond some payback for German people.. meanwhile old empire haha lost its wallet to the US while who NOW have a shot at empire (nice job in the middle east boys - come on don't do another Vietnam) while the Brits look towards the commonwealth (lets face it Brussels doesn't work - Good luck Germany wanting a vignette (u need to pay for to even pass through Austria EACH TIME) and tax your roads like ever other driver from france spain Italy the Netherlands, Slovenia .. bla bla coming for free (I pay to drive in ALL those countries but the refugees want to settle here haha of course they do!
      Anyway meanwhile while the uk is dependant on taking the warm pointy pink stiff part about waist level of the US into its mouth, Germany can still say no wait a minute - we say what happened to the British SHIT that's a LOT of history..and WHAT happened to America! great people! hard working (sure a lot of stupid tv educated far left left social justice head in the sand idiots demanding everything they should have and quoting ammendments) I think Trump is doing something well if the media hate him because they ARE the 1% wanting everyone has NO balanced view and the Russians are eveil scum and how do we get to 30 trillion in debt before we trigger a BIG reset button and start again with the next BS war.
      I digress. America is NOT her people and the democrats are not really that at all.
      Hillary Clinton? she's a joke to anyone who's not a main stream media junkie with....
      Yes great tools -we'll see for how long. All the best to you and family, wherever u are from CC MOGS! Paul

    This is a nice piece of shit! The cutter works fine, but in use with sanding the sandpaper constantly loosens. The sanding dust push the paper of the sole. At today's GOP machines it resembles a cheap plastic plate. This is similar in both green and blue (professional) line of Bosch. The older machines were better at this.

    • @ToolCraze

      Lol at the first sentence!!

    • @ToolCraze

      Hook and loop and paper works best when the felt side is new. After you take it off and reapply it, it never sticks the same as a new pad. But this is something all brands and models suffer from in my experience
