I have a Bio degree and NYS is not accepting any of my course work and I also went to medical technology school for associate and took all required courses except the internship so I didn’t graduate because they wanted me to repeat courses that I completed in my Bachelors degree. I’m asking the state for information and help and they wont even speak on the phone. I was misled by my colleges, its a waste of time!!! I cant even get accurate information , the NYS website is not clear and they need to specifically clarify to people that they need a degree from a medical technology school. I hope the MLT shortage continues because they make it impossible. I refuse to repeat courses I paid for. I worked as a Lab Processor then I just gave up. NYS is missing out on quality people that are seeking employment with education. Great video, thanks!!!
Excellent! What does it mean if I see a job through Indeed that shows "certification is required within 6 months of hire "? I have applied to some places, and they indicated that I should pick 3 dates for the time they are likely to conduct interview for me. I am so curious about the period they will conduct the interview, e.g., night or day or midnight. I hope it will not fall into odds times in my country.
As a Indian medical Laboratory Technologist who has done a bachelor degree like Bachelor of science in Medical Laboratory Technology, a 3 year and 6 month course, how can he/she get a job as medical Laboratory technologist in USA??
Hey! Just curious, what was your lab experience coming out of undergrad? Did you volunteer in a lab, do distinguished undergrad research, TA lab courses, or was it solely from your coursework? I majored in bio and am seriously looking into MLS, but I only have minimal lab experience outside of my courses.
Hi! This video goes into more detail (ua-cam.com/video/PlV35RKcyWQ/v-deo.html) but the only lab experience that I had was that from my biology major courses. That’s it!

Oh wow, I reside in DC as a technologist as well with a bio degree. Glad the DMV are welcoming to non-cert lab professionals.
Yes 🙌🏾 So far I've had great experiences! Do you mind me asking what setting you work in (hospital, clinic, reference lab, etc.) ?
@@RisaB of course! I’ve only worked in a hospital setting so far previously and currently.
@@RisaB I meant to ask what about u lol? Also, what department do u have experience in? I’ve worked in Core lab & moved on to be a generalist.
I've only worked in reference labs lol. Specifically in the cancer sector. How's the hospital ? I would love to connect outside of YT! Are you on IG ?
Glad to see you back!
Thank you ! ☺️
