  • "There is only one kind of a life that truly wins, and that is the one that places faith in the hands of the Savior. Until that is done, we are on an aimless course that runs in circles and goes nowhere." -- John Wooden
Honored for his legendary success as a coach and greatly admired by all who knew him, John Wooden demonstrated what it means to live a Christian life. He never considered himself an evangelist, but he certainly knew how to honestly express his faith in a humble and humorous way.
This captivating biography provides a view of not only his remarkable career in the world of sports, but also a behind-the-scenes look at his personal life and the values upon which he built it. Including interviews with his daughter, Nan Wooden, and players he coached at South Bend Central High School, Indiana State University, and UCLA, this inspiring presentation focused on his integrity, Christian faith, and concern for others--principles of living that can be observed by all.

Many similarities between he and Vince Lombardi. Vince Lombardi coached and was also a high school teacher. In my humble opinion the two greatest coaches of their respective sports.

I attended UCLA's first NCAA championship game in Kansas City in 1964. They crushed Duke even though they had no player taller than 6 ft. 5 and Duke had two players 6 ft
    10 and 6 ft.11

This is an excellent documentary and it truly captures the essence of the man, but in addition to Bill Walton, it bothers me that the great Muslim players that he coached, such as Walt Hazzard, Kareem, and Jamaal Wilkes whom he admired and had such a significant relationship with, weren't included. To be honest that's also an undeniable and unavoidable part of his legacy too.

How do u love a myth. Nobody has seen God.

    • @stephenskinner4857

I understand your logic. But the principles in the Bible that try to TEACH against the obvious EVIL and ME
culture that have always existed on Earth, we need some understanding to bring out the best in MAN. There
are many words of wisdom and COMPASSION in this book that are worth considering whether we see the
God refereed to. I haven't seen a miracle or WITNESSED one, but we human need a lot of work to be OUR best.
Maybe this simple saying whether you think what's written in this book is a myth, "Do onto others as you wish
then do unto YOU". EVIL has been winning far to long.
