Even if tithing were practiced before the law, it is NEVER commanded in any part of scripture to any people in scripture, except to the Jewish people under the Law. To assume that God commands something just because it happened, is an error of hermeneutics. This is the difference between something "descriptive" and something "prescriptive." Abraham also sacrificed animals. Should we assume that God commands you and me to sacrifice animals?

My brother told me this a long time ago and I didn’t believe him because I was always taught in Church that we are robbing God if we don’t pay our tithe, which is 10% of our income, salary, and/or whatever monetary blessing we received. So I always paid tithes, then there was a time where I got injured on my job and I could no longer work. I did receive Workmans Compensation and I stayed home. And for some reason I don’t why I did this but I wasn’t paying tithe on my checks for 9 months. And I felt guilty I should’ve paid my tithe all that time and I didn’t. I repented before the Lord. The Lord knows I am a servant, and he knows I am a giver. I learned something new today, 😁 Thank You ! and God Bless You ! Pastor Samuel Patta 😊

Not going to dispute or speak against tithing but just amazes me jow people can only feel guilty not to disappoint God with thithing 0but can so easily justify sins ..you can never buy your way into the Kingdom

The "fivefold ministry" is not intended to be a bridge between God and "laymen." There is no hierarchy in the true church. If there's someone else between you and God, besides His Son, then you have something called an "idol." This includes "ministers." Tithe is INDEED limited to COVENANT. We are NOT in the old covenant but the new.
Indeed tithe is for the old covenant. Tithe is paid with agricultural products Deuteronomy 14:22--. Tithe is a law because it carries a curse if you don't pay it to God. But christians are no longer under curse. Christians are love creatures and give by love, as we purpose in our heart, not by compulsion...... for God loves cheerful givers.
