As of right now, Netflix has in fact removed Age of Resistance from their service. and Jim Henson Studios is now collaborating with Shout! Factory Entertainment. This is great news for the future of the series
Some channel out there has got to pick this up. This show inspired a whole new generation. It was great to see animation using real objects, linked with some CGI. I was lucky to be a kid when the original came to screen, I loved it. when I told my neices about the series they gave it a watch and their reaction to it was amazing. They loved the art of it and the realism of the puppets when compared to CGI animation. In my humble opinion this was one of the best programmes on the tv that I've seen for years. I’m just hoping they’ll able to do something along the lines of moving to another service as I feel it’s the best alternative right now.
Yeah, It would likely be best to just move it to another streaming service, like Hulu or something. Though I do stand by what I said, I can see why people wouldn't want animated DC.
Netflix canceled this show and I immediately canceled my subscription and pirated a bunch of Netflix shows I'm not even going to watch, just to seed them 24/7 so other people can plunder Netflix too. They clearly can't be trusted with money and decision making, so I wanted to do my part and help ensure they get less of both going forward. Seems others have followed suit as well.
I’m so disappointed that there won’t be a second series. I first saw the film in '85 when I was 4 and watched it over and over and it’s been my favourite ever since. It inspired me to take up art as a hobby because I loved drawing the characters, and even now as I turn 40 it’s still a huge influence on my artwork. The amount of work that went into the show, you can tell it was a work of love and it would be a shame if it were to go to waste.

I wouldn't mind if Disney+ picks up Age of Resistance or a continuation of the show set within Thra given that they already have _Earth to Ned_ another Jim Henson Co. Show on the Disney+ service. I know this is asking too much, but the show and the setting of Thra does seem to fit well with Disney and the Disney+ originals on the service if it gets continued however it will largely come down to whether the Jim Henson Company and especially Disney are interested in continuing the show and having it aired on Disney+, cause the latter Company is mainly interested on The Muppets as well as the many different Marvel & Star Wars projects for the service and while Disney has done expensive projects such as The Mandalorian and the forthcoming MCU Disney+ series (WandaVision, Falcon & the Winter Soldier, Loki, etc.) none of them compare to the very expensive cost of "Age of Resistance". I used to like Disney until the earl 90's but I hope they will not get a hold of the Dark Crystal, I mean it's enough for me that they ruined marvel and star wars. Avengers Endgame was really ENDGAME.

It's heartbreaking not to get another season but the show would have been even more heartbreaking. The current idea is a new fraggle rock show but on thra. Each episode will be it's own story. And it will begin on the great conjunction after the movie at which giant aliens and the beast from krill show up affecting everything in profound ways and instigating all kinds of quests.. No skeksi and very little crystal apart from the ones krulls villain uses. Like the Sega Saturn game astal which shares the dark crystal style.
I think based off listening to your points in the video, the people that worked on this were fans of the world themselves. When you think about a fandom would be the best people to write a comic, run a franchise, stuff like that. But this, this was actually that unicorn production that were a niche group, but hot damn do we love our franchise.
I had never heard of Brian freod until the age of resistance came out now that I know it was him who designed the art style as welln as a lot of D&D illustration I liked. I would like to see more of their work realized in puppets. If it were the baby from labarynth presents the world of thra would audiences like it I think the age of resistance proves that they would.
With the writing and actor strikes going on, there will be some changes and power shifts. Maybe this would be a good time to get some interest stirred up. If the interwebs see there's recently a spike in Dark Krystal activity. #What about The Dark Krystal or something like that. Disney worked out something to get the Netflix Marvel shows. I get that the Marvel connection was a big part of it. But what the heck, we could show the other franchises the children of Thra (us included) did not go quietly into the night? 😎💪

I know this is asking too much, but the show and the setting does seem to fit on Disney+ originals if it gets continued however it will largely come down to whether the Jim Henson Company and especially Disney are interested in continuing the show and have it aired on Disney+, cause the latter Company is interested mainly on The Muppets as well as the many different Marvel & Star Wars projects for the service and while Disney has done expensive projects such as The Mandalorian and the forthcoming MCU Disney+ series (WandaVision, Falcon & the Winter Soldier, Loki, etc.) none of them compare to the very expensive cost of "Age of Resistance".
Disney would suck the darkness out of the series! No thanks
@@justsomeokami8867 Agree to Disagree but Seriously?!? Just FYI The Dark Crystal film and its series are PG, and Disney has done PG/PG-13 fare that do get dark as shown in The Black Cauldron, Return to Oz, the first Pirates of the Caribbean film and some of its later films, the 2016 Jungle Book film, the Star Wars series, some of the MCU films and let's not forget some of Disney's earlier animated films like Snow White, Pinocchio, and Fantasia also had scenes that were also dark and frightening.
Ernesto Chacon i dunno, lately they’ve had more hits than misses with those damn reboots of theirs. It seems they’ve allowed mandalorian to have a nice blend of special effects but I can still easily see them making jim hension add in way too much cgi in a live action background.
I wonder if / when, someone will pick this franchise up, it could in theory be made into an anime
Season 2 was supposed to lead up to the movie season 3 was supposed to be about how the world was revived.
Perfection takes time if they wait another several years that's just how really great art is sometimes.
love the show, i love how it shows so much Truth about the society we're living in.. Manifesting season 2
Now wait until the next revival in 2050...
You've got your microphone muted :0
I cancelled my sub to Netflix over this, especially after the Cuties travesty.
The London crew isn't going anywhere.
If they are able to make another show it may eventually lead to a continuation of the premium Netflix series.
I'm absolutely furious!!! I hope someone else picks it up. I'll sub in a heartbeat
The only way they could tell the story is through the comics
Dark crystal and stranger things are the only reason I have Netflix
But Seladon just became a good guy!!!
3 years later, not a fucking word about any continuation 😑
Like why it was cancel. I always loved the dark crystal. Its a amazing and unique shows. Nothing like it of its kinds.
I'm so sad
With the writing and actor strikes going on, there will be some changes and power shifts. Maybe this would be a good time to get some interest stirred up. If the interwebs see there's recently a spike in Dark Krystal activity. #What about The Dark Krystal or something like that. Disney worked out something to get the Netflix Marvel shows. I get that the Marvel connection was a big part of it. But what the heck, we could show the other franchises the children of Thra (us included) did not go quietly into the night? 😎💪
2020 worst year!!
This and beastars manga ending 😑
Bad bad decision netflix !!!
Netflix has seasons of seasons of trashy shows like riverdale but doesn't renew a masterpiece like Dark Crystal. A Company of Idiots...
Hi, thank you for all your videos on Dark Crystal Age of Resistance !! I hope and I would like believe, that we can help to finance a season 2 !! We are many to support this univers ! If we are between 10 000 and 500 000 peoples to give just 10 euros/dollar, we can reunite 100 000 or 5 000 000 euros/dollars to participate to finance the 2nd season ! To give money to Jim Henson Company ! Than, they could have looking a other production box for help them ! Or ask to Netflix ! I hope sincerely we can help together ! :)
Hope Amazon Video or HBO Max picks it up! Disney...? HBO would be perfect, cause it's kinda the "Game of Thrones" of puppet story telling.
we can
😭
Would you watch a show called "the world of thra."
Definately!
Can henson go somewhere else?
Damn, this is so disappointing.
either HBO/AMAZON picks it up or they restart years later but it's animated like it was originally intended for the series
In terms of which streaming service will get the show I would like for Disney+ to pick it up or do a continuation series of Age of Resistance given that they already have _Earth to Ned_ another Jim Henson Co. Show on the Disney+ service.
I know this is asking too much, but the show and the setting of Thra does seem to fit well with Disney and the Disney+ originals, however it will largely come down to whether the Jim Henson Company and especially Disney are interested in continuing the show and have this aired on Disney+, cause the latter Company is interested mainly on The Muppets as well as the many different Marvel & Star Wars projects for the service and while Disney has done expensive projects such as The Mandalorian and the forthcoming MCU Disney+ series (WandaVision, Falcon & the Winter Soldier, Loki, etc.) none of them compare to the very expensive cost of "Age of Resistance".
@@EChacon I keep hearing Disney has screwed henson repeatedly and Disney plus would probably be the worse case scenario.
@@smoogles.5534 But that happened back in 1989/1990 when Eisner was around, besides Disney and The Jim Henson Company had some recent collaborations with, not exclusive ones but mutual ones such as _"Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day"_ in 2014 and recently to _Earth to Ned_ which is airing on Disney+ so their relationship right now is well....mutual so to speak, even if Disney currently is more interested with The Muppets as their main Puppet related entertainment and seem to focus more on the Marvel and Star Wars projects.
Seriously, you keep "jumping the gun" on everything. :/
Can't hear you, can you please check your mic?
Season 2 and 3 please. This needs 3 seasons. Bring it back netflix.
The Darkening has happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just bought the beast book I hope they bring it back. Big sad.
Anyone wanna help me bring a minecraft server of Dark Crystal to life?
