i think dragonic's "Player's soul trapped in a ghast" is right, because at 7:17, you may notice that the ghast tear is nearly shaped like a player's body that was shapeshifted and shrunk as a tear, so the soul of the player could be trapped in tears that ghasts drop.
By the way the reason why "Johnny" and the wither don't attack ghasts is definitely so that they don't drift into a very inconvenient place going after a ghast or end up killing themselves trying. It's probably just a game mechanic feature that doesn't have to do with lore, but this is a very interesting interpretation if it was for lore purposes
@@sboy2044 no idea i didn't mention it in my comment but if they don't it's the same idea. UPDATE: zoglins don't attack ghasts. they attack everything except creepers (so the creeper doesn't blow them up), ghasts (theory applies), and other zoglins

In creative mode I once spawned a ghast in a bunch of webs, and summoned a wither. The wither shot the ghast with a wither skull, then the ghast got angry. The ghast got so angry that it killed the wither! The wither was at full health before it attacked the ghast!
This is my theory on why Ghasts can fly: Ghasts could either be extremely light or hollow inside. This might explain the low HP. With this hollow/light body, Ghasts inhale hot Nether air, and make it even hotter using it’s fiery breath. Since Hot air rises, the air inside Ghasts lifts them up. They can then fly down by exhaling that hot air. They can do this in in other dimensions, too. It just requires more effort to make the air hot.

It can also be respawned with crystals, which may suggest the Dragon is not natural. In retrogaming's video on endermen, he suggested that the endermen built the obsidion towers all around with crystals on top of them (resembling an end portal) in attempt to reach a new dimension. They then spawned the enderdragon by accident. This does align with that. I personally don't think the enderdragon is natural because it requires complex items like crystals to survive, also notice how they were made to be easily breakable, probably as a failsafe (and obsidion needs lava to spawn naturally, which doesn't fit in the cold and desolate end dimension.) After the wither, they saw the nether star, souls combined together (origin of the Vex?) And knew the power they had made, so they tried more souls together, created another mob in the nether, mass killed it (The fossils in the nether come from this unknown mob.) And probably harvested something powerful that could be added in a future update. Then they moved onto the next mob: the warden. They made them to guard the strongholds, but probably killed some too. This is where they got the materials for the end portal (The designs look similar) and they went in, colonised the place, made the enderdragon, and got stuck there. The enderdragon was finally too much for them to handle. Proof is that this was probably the first time ghast years were used instead of soul sand or nether stars. I love how there's cats in the Ghast's head. 😄 and you also forgot about Gilded Blackstone as an ore. But amazing theory. 👍 maybe another reason they're sad is because the Nether isn't their home and maybe they came from the Overworld but somehow got trapped in the harsh dimension and now they're sad about it and miss their original home. Edit: Gilded Blackstone isn't an ore.
Idea. What's the notch apple. It's a mystery cuz they give you regeneration fire protection and extra hearts. They olso can't be find on the nether so they don't have soul power.
they actually can be found in the nether, in ruined portal chests! that actually explains that they went through the portal and buried it somewhere in the overworld, so i think they have soul power or something similar
My theory of why the wither and the ghast tear is related: One thing i know is that the wither grabs as many souls as it can to power them, when the wither is killed, it drops the wither's heart, full of souls, like the soul theory for ghast tears.
*ghasts have my thinking face...* *SERIOUSLY every time I'm thinking people are just coming to me like "are you ok?"* *like yes I'm okay! I'm not having Vietnam flashbacks or anything I'm just chilling with my thoughts bro !*
I'm pretty sure Johnnys don't attack ghasts as a reference to the shining, Jack (or Johnny) was killing to impress the ghosts of the overlook. The ghasts are a collection of spirits, so Johnny doesn't want to kill the ghosts he's trying to impress.
After watching the video, the story behind the Ghast is really sad if you think of it Almost feel sorry for all the Ghasts I’ve shot after it when it shoots me with a fireball
Actually it’s confirmed in the mobiestary that they aren’t actually sad, it’s a trick for you to get closer so they can shoot you with a fireball Edit: also, ghast are definitely NOT robots. They look nothing like the guardian, which is quite obviously a robot, and they ghast has no redstone, that’s just body part and the thing that look lik mechanical things is just the fireball making process the ghast uses.
There is glow squids irl. Usually creatures glow in real life when they live in places where there is no light, so they evolve to get bioluminated bodies.
Theory: Glow squids are just a normal squids, but there is this unknown person (might be the evil ancient builder?) That try to do some experiment with glowstone dust and squids, so they try to do some experiment and try to combined those together, the person actually made it, They actually not rlly "glow" because, the person failed to make it glow, but its kinda glow, but don't produce light, so the unknown person don't know what to do with it so they just put it in the ocean and let it "glow"
The Ghast is so depressed looking because: No one wants to 'hang' with a fire-breathing ghost. It's never once managed to eat an ice cream without melting it before it even got close to its mouth. It can't get over the fact that Peter Capaldi is really leaving Doctor Who (searched this bad boi up)
I actually have a theory that cats and ghasts are actually connected, I haven't completely ironed out the holes in the theory but it kind of goes as follows: Ghasts are connected to cats. I say this because they are connected in multiple ways. Cats are usually said to have 9 lives which is coincidently how many legs/tentacles ghasts have. They also make a cat like noise when idle, this has been proved even by C418 saying he took his cat's angry noise as the sound file for ghasts. There is also a song that only plays in the nether called Ballad of cats, which also may confirm that ghasts are actually cats after they die. Even there names are similar, ghast just sounds like a combination of ghost cat. Also the fact that ghasts drop gunpowder might also be a nod to creepers being scared of cats. Again I don't quite know if its a solid theory but there are definitely a lot of similarities between the 2. I might make a video about sometime but idk (Edit) The fact that there is also an achievement called AN UNEASY ALLIANCE when you bring a ghast out of the nether and kill it which definitely seems like it might be hinting that ghasts were once an overworld creature but I'm really only scratching the surface here.
I have a theory on why wither skeletons exist. It's based off this theory. If the soul got pushed into the ghast, what happened to their body? What i think is, when they died, their body got burned up by the intense heat of the nether. The bodies were picked up and brought back to life. But without a soul, they couldn't feel anything. They were told to protect the nether fortresses while they were gone. They did as they were told and they protect them. Their creators never came back and they've been guarding them ever since.
Okay you might think I’m crazy for saying this but I think a guest was created by a octopus and a cat how a cat because when it shoots out its fireballs it kind of sounds like a dying cat and it looks like a floating octopus
Because you're not in range of him. Creeper's maximum attack distance is by directly behind/front of you. technically you're 1 block away when you're behind a glass wall.
I like this theory, but there’s something that confuses me. If all the souls that are in the Nether are players or of a human like variant, did all those beings that died die in the Nether or in the Overworld or End? If they did die all across the dimensions of Minecraft, how would bringing a ghast back to the Overworld and killing it free the soul? Wouldn’t it just end up back in the Nether if that was the case?
My theory: 1.Ghast have fireball in the stomach, so it cried cuz its hurt? And it shoots fireball to player cuz it want the fireball in its stomach to gone? 2. When we go ahead and look in Uneasy Alliance achievement we’ll see it says “Rescue a ghast from the nether, bring it safely *home* to the overworld.. and then kill it” Is ghast belongs to the over world? Was it the human soul? (Sorry if some of the thing i type is wrong, im new to minecraft btw)
LMAO! that is such a different interpretation than 99% of youtubers! I'm so used to the tortured souls thing but really it's just throwing up on u to stop stomach cramps lol LMAO
2:52 I think a strider came from a pig. Here are some reasons why. First, they look partly like a pig, except with only two legs because the top of them have little scrapes of the exact overworld pig color. Second, they can run fast on lava, saying that it was evolved from an animal that can run fast, but a pig could evolve to run fast on lava and a horse could to but that's it. Last, due to the tough conditions in the Nether, this horse-pig creature probably had to evolve to run on lava to survive.
3:37 actually if you see at the feet of striders they actually have netherite, that's why they float on lava. And for their origins ghast is barnacles, striders could be frogs and blazes are the most forgotten mob of Minecraft history, 'Tommo'
I also think that the Guardian is mechanical as well. Notice: it’s side texture is the exact same as prismarine bricks, and it drops prismarine. This show it’s probably mechanical as well because it is in a structure and protects the gold in the center as people probably wanted to stop people from stealing their gold.
I think the reason Johnny Vindicators don't attack Ghasts is because maybe while the evil Evokers were trying to create a Totem of Undying using the soul energy that is in the soul sand of the nether, that contains the souls of the ancient builders, they discovered the quartz machines that the Ancient Builders had created. They then thought that the souls in the soul sand belonged to the Villagers that had wronged them. So they made it so that the souls are getting trapped inside the Ghasts and that it attacks anything human on sight. The Vindicators don't attack it because they want the souls to suffer. It's also possible that the reason the advancement "Uneasy Alliance" is to bring a Ghast to the overworld is that the Evokers and Vindicators wanted to use the Ghasts as weapons to destroy the Villagers. But then they decided against it when they discovered the Ravager. I will admit there are some holes in this theory, and that the evidence I presented was about as strong as a wooden hoe against a netherite block, but still, it's a possible theory.
My theory is, that when you kill the Ghast in the overworld. Its soul is freed like you said, but then, it follows you around warning you and watching you. For Example, say you're in a cave doing some Grind-Mining. And you hear the Cranking and Low pitched noise of cave sounds. What if, that's the Ghast saying "Watch out." Because you rescued it. Now it wants to save you from the mobs like Creepers and Zombies
U know vindicators are just normal villagers with a emerald embedded in their head, right? The reason they wont attack the Ghast in Johnny mode is because they fell the pain too.
I feel like Mojang never actually made any “lore”, they just added a bunch of random things into the game then released it upon the world and hoped people would make up theories about random coincidences and then they’ll say “yes, we planned this all along!”
My theory is similar but has a different ending so my ending is the souls are later transferred to villagers but since they were stuck in the nether for years they forgot how to build.craft and talk so this is how the villagers were made
The theory becomes more compelling and disturbing when you realize the nether is basically hell. It's not just souls powering the ghasts, it's _damned_ souls. (Think about it: Rev. 19:20 mentions a lake of fire (lava ocean) burning with brimstone (i.e. sulfur, which is flammable, corresponding to netherrack.) The book of Mark also talks about the flames in hell never being quenched (netherrack will burn indefinitely until quenched by the player). Water instantly evaporates in the nether, implying extreme heat. The fact that it's a separate dimension and therefore only accessible by supernatural means fits perfectly. Also the sounds that come from nether portals sound pretty disturbing the first time you hear them, kind of like distorted supernatural howls or screams, like suffering souls. The name fits perfectly as hell is generally thought of as being way down below us, and the word "hell" is often seen as kind of taboo, so maybe "the nether" is just a euphemism for it. The game Terraria, which is obviously inspired by Minecraft, is a little more heavy-handed, calling their nether-like environment "hell" directly.)
My theory with Ghasts, is that they were so sinful or just killing anyone for no reason, when they spawned again, they spawned in hell (nether). And they cry because they can never get out, and killing is now their natural habit.
Brought a Ghast to overworld (actually was aiming my bow towards a Ghast and then it entered in the portal), still aggressive and no achievement. What now? Do i need to put a minecart so it catches her or to bring her myself by the leash?
So ... ghasts are ghosts.. The flying spirits of people to went to hell (nether) and are forced to torture newcomers, and they're sad because they're trapped in hell..
I never realized Ghasts looked sad, I was always too busy being scared to death and running away.
Oh... i knew they weree sad but same but i knew their sadd but idk why LOL

You can fire ghast tears through fishing too, which means they may have carried the tears on from squids?
I love how there's cats in the Ghast's head. 😄 and you also forgot about Gilded Blackstone as an ore. But amazing theory. 👍 maybe another reason they're sad is because the Nether isn't their home and maybe they came from the Overworld but somehow got trapped in the harsh dimension and now they're sad about it and miss their original home.
Edit: Gilded Blackstone isn't an ore.
I think the reason why Dragonic didn't add gilded blackstone is because it's basically the same as normal gold.

1:11 I like the little detail of putting a cat inside the ghast since they're original voice is from cats lol, either way really nice vid!
you: The ghast has a sound that sounds like its yelling help.
C418's cat: bruh can you stop disturbing me I'm trying to sleep
The sound a ghast makes when it dies (sounds like a last breath or wheeze) could be the soul escaping
Idea. What's the notch apple. It's a mystery cuz they give you regeneration fire protection and extra hearts. They olso can't be find on the nether so they don't have soul power.
All supernatural food
Imagine it's an Adam's apple from heaven.
they actually can be found in the nether, in ruined portal chests! that actually explains that they went through the portal and buried it somewhere in the overworld, so i think they have soul power or something similar
My theory of why the wither and the ghast tear is related: One thing i know is that the wither grabs as many souls as it can to power them, when the wither is killed, it drops the wither's heart, full of souls, like the soul theory for ghast tears.
*ghasts have my thinking face...*
*SERIOUSLY every time I'm thinking people are just coming to me like "are you ok?"*
*like yes I'm okay! I'm not having Vietnam flashbacks or anything I'm just chilling with my thoughts bro !*
Oof must be awful lol
@@RandomWhatzAlissa Ik it's so painful when people are just coming up to you when you are being satisfied by water flowing or cooled by a fan!
I like the tear theory, but honestly, I feel like it is just a solid tear, they have adapted a single way to cry, which is a very depressing thought.
me: shoots a ghast with a bow
ghast: drops ghast tear
ghast tear: *falls in lava*
your soul: *BURNS*
I'm pretty sure Johnnys don't attack ghasts as a reference to the shining, Jack (or Johnny) was killing to impress the ghosts of the overlook. The ghasts are a collection of spirits, so Johnny doesn't want to kill the ghosts he's trying to impress.
After watching the video, the story behind the Ghast is really sad if you think of it
Almost feel sorry for all the Ghasts I’ve shot after it when it shoots me with a fireball
Actually it’s confirmed in the mobiestary that they aren’t actually sad, it’s a trick for you to get closer so they can shoot you with a fireball
Edit: also, ghast are definitely NOT robots. They look nothing like the guardian, which is quite obviously a robot, and they ghast has no redstone, that’s just body part and the thing that look lik mechanical things is just the fireball making process the ghast uses.
Very AMAZING Theory.
Best Of LUCK w/ Other Theories, Too.
Mr. Dragonic
i was very suprised with this theory. now it makes so much sense!
Please make a detailed video on how glow squids are made. Or
Why are they glowing
There is glow squids irl. Usually creatures glow in real life when they live in places where there is no light, so they evolve to get bioluminated bodies.
@@FilipFCB ok ......but he said in the video that ancient builders made them glow
they probly had too much redstone, redstone contains uranium and also maked things light up
@@stevenorrington473 may be all were ancient mumbo jumbos & one of them still survived & has a yt channnel
Theory:
Glow squids are just a normal squids, but there is this unknown person (might be the evil ancient builder?) That try to do some experiment with glowstone dust and squids, so they try to do some experiment and try to combined those together, the person actually made it, They actually not rlly "glow" because, the person failed to make it glow, but its kinda glow, but don't produce light, so the unknown person don't know what to do with it so they just put it in the ocean and let it "glow"
I think the nether star is an opened version of the Ghast tear, since it is the same color and about the same shape in the pointy sides.
“If ghasts are robots, why would your soul be powering it?”

"'Ghast' could be a play-on-word for 'ghost'"
Actually, they're synonyms so you're even more correct.
A moment of silent for kids who tried to die on soul sand/soil and expect to be trapped ;)
Lol
The Ghast is so depressed looking because: No one wants to 'hang' with a fire-breathing ghost. It's never once managed to eat an ice cream without melting it before it even got close to its mouth. It can't get over the fact that Peter Capaldi is really leaving Doctor Who (searched this bad boi up)
New theory:
Gasts are the souls of the monsters that were the nether fosils.
Sensible
Makes more sense
I loved the interior of the ghast 😂❤️
U should do a video asking why piglins ask for gold! I would love to know
I also agree that blazes could be skeletons because the bars circling around them could be bones.
I might make a video about sometime but idk
(Edit)
The fact that there is also an achievement called AN UNEASY ALLIANCE when you bring a ghast out of the nether and kill it which definitely seems like it might be hinting that ghasts were once an overworld creature but I'm really only scratching the surface here.
Look at Ghast and after look at strider ,hmmm ,see the similarity?
The Johnny vindicator theme and the unused sound theme was VERY interesting and then I was like “I am definitely going to watch till end”
Blazes are souls trapped in metal robotic body
@internet person well yes and I also am game theory fan retro gaming now fan too
Okay you might think I’m crazy for saying this but I think a guest was created by a octopus and a cat how a cat because when it shoots out its fireballs it kind of sounds like a dying cat and it looks like a floating octopus
The Ghasts could have evolved from squids because they have something similar to gills on the sides...
(Please dont hate me) I think you meant to say ghasts I hope this helped
@@RandomWhatzAlissa STOP THINKING! DO SOMETHING YOU ACTUALLY CAN!
Sorry I had to do that😑 But thanks I'll edit that comment...
Hi
@@ilikecatsalot4688 Yeah... Hi
9:41 why are the cats dropped as items?
i have an idea for a new video: why do creepers not explode when glass are in front of them
Because it can damage the block without any player intervention
Because you're not in range of him. Creeper's maximum attack distance is by directly behind/front of you. technically you're 1 block away when you're behind a glass wall.
I like this theory, but there’s something that confuses me. If all the souls that are in the Nether are players or of a human like variant, did all those beings that died die in the Nether or in the Overworld or End? If they did die all across the dimensions of Minecraft, how would bringing a ghast back to the Overworld and killing it free the soul? Wouldn’t it just end up back in the Nether if that was the case?
My theory on striders:they are axalotls pushed in from the over world
4:48 where did you get that list? i cant find it on the minecraft wiki
Am I the only one who thinks ghasts are cute?
i think that ghasts might be mutated glowsquids paled by the nether’s environment
and also shoot rocky fireballs
good theory
I’m starting to feel real bad for throwing ghast tears in lava or just on the ground after watching this
My theory:
1.Ghast have fireball in the stomach, so it cried cuz its hurt? And it shoots fireball to player cuz it want the fireball in its stomach to gone?
2. When we go ahead and look in Uneasy Alliance achievement we’ll see it says “Rescue a ghast from the nether, bring it safely *home* to the overworld.. and then kill it”
Is ghast belongs to the over world? Was it the human soul?
(Sorry if some of the thing i type is wrong, im new to minecraft btw)
LMAO! that is such a different interpretation than 99% of youtubers! I'm so used to the tortured souls thing but really it's just throwing up on u to stop stomach cramps lol LMAO
Dragonic, you are a legend! Well done on your channel!
Last, due to the tough conditions in the Nether, this horse-pig creature probably had to evolve to run on lava to survive.
after watching this video I now made an oath to free every ghast to the overworld
3:37 actually if you see at the feet of striders they actually have netherite, that's why they float on lava. And for their origins ghast is barnacles, striders could be frogs and blazes are the most forgotten mob of Minecraft history, 'Tommo'
A lot of lore about Minecraft makes me happy:)
I also think that the Guardian is mechanical as well. Notice: it’s side texture is the exact same as prismarine bricks, and it drops prismarine. This show it’s probably mechanical as well because it is in a structure and protects the gold in the center as people probably wanted to stop people from stealing their gold.
This is so good but I feel so bad for the ghast now that I just here’d the story of a ghast
The tears could just be the happiest of the soul leaving :(
I think the reason Johnny Vindicators don't attack Ghasts is because maybe while the evil Evokers were trying to create a Totem of Undying using the soul energy that is in the soul sand of the nether, that contains the souls of the ancient builders, they discovered the quartz machines that the Ancient Builders had created.
Ik it’s fun to add story’s to games but ya’ll put a lot of thought into this game lol
Ghasts sound so cute, yet they damage people. So Cute
U know vindicators are just normal villagers with a emerald embedded in their head, right? The reason they wont attack the Ghast in Johnny mode is because they fell the pain too.
05:43
So ghast aren’t evil?
I thought Minecraft was a game for 10+ but this makes me emotional
This is called quality content 👍
Another reason ghosts are sad:imagine being hated by the players so much.
I feel like Mojang never actually made any “lore”, they just added a bunch of random things into the game then released it upon the world and hoped people would make up theories about random coincidences and then they’ll say “yes, we planned this all along!”
I actually hope this is the case because that would be hilarious
This makes so much sense everything lines up
My theory is similar but has a different ending so my ending is the souls are later transferred to villagers but since they were stuck in the nether for years they forgot how to build.craft and talk so this is how the villagers were made
I will never see ghasts the same ever again.
Nice theory, but yes, as you said there are some holes.
I love how did u call ghast a flying marshmellow
So ... ghasts are ghosts.. The flying spirits of people to went to hell (nether) and are forced to torture newcomers, and they're sad because they're trapped in hell..
I love the thumbnail of this vid man your talented.
