thanks for your video. I do have the Böker Quadro CPM but really like the mono and the pureness about it. It really is all you need as you stated already the blade has got a perfect shape for hunters purposes unless you want to hunt a boar with a knife ;). Thanks Rick

Funk Cologist thanks for the feedback! I would really like to handle a Quadro. I almost bought the trio but they sold out at the store I purchased from. I did some more searching and found the mono which I didn’t think was available anywhere at knifecenter. It took forever to arrive though. I’m going to make a leather pocket slip in the next little bit if work slows down because of all this virus panic.

Do you know if Boker still makes a Stockman 9885 model? I have one that I traded something for while a Boy Scout. I've had it for over 62 years. I's still in good shape and I still use it.

I don’t know if they still make that model but I will look into it. That’s a very special knife you have there!

It looks like they do still offer it. I see it listed on a few knife retailers sites but the model number is now 117474BK. Is this the same knife?

The only thing better than cruwear in my opinion is maxamet. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I haven’t tried maxamet yet but I would really like to

Cruwear is a lot easier to sharpen!

@@vonWeizhacker69 100% true. I hope I never have to sharpen Maxamet. In truth, my cruwear blades get a lot more use. Then M390, then D2. These are my 4 faves.

@@doctoruttley Yeah, I have a Manix in maxamet and usage is/was great. It was my EDC for almost 6 months before it really needed sharpening. I just was not able to produce any kind of edge with my lansky. I have the normal and the diamond stones. No chance...maybe I am doing something wrong...

    • @doctoruttley

@@vonWeizhacker69 I don’t think so. I’ve seen videos where the Maxamet just eats through belt sanders and stone wheels. I have a fancy Japanese diamond stone. Actually a coarse one and a finer one. That’s what I’ll try when the time comes. I use it for cardboard breakdown about once per month. Hopefully I can get a few years out of it before I have to sharpen. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
