Marius, lovely to see you at work keeping the commitment. As I pick up here and there things that I would have approached in a different way, I cannot but delight myself in enjoying diversity which sits within the borders of temae-decency. Nothing more beautiful that to see the same thing done the same way but in another way because each one of us is a unique world of emotions, understanding and reactions, This series is for students, for people who do not have access to the insight of the temae. This is the purpose. The thumbs up / thumbs down is an error of approach for such a video. All should be thumbs up with the imminent understanding of the intention of the video. You have realised that calm, that rhythm that let lets one float on the beauty of the moment. Great work! Gabriel

What type of kimono should a male student of urasenke have. E.g what fabric or formality

I’m assuming that you are asking about the very first kimono to get. I’m of the opinion that having almost any kimono is way better than having none.
When I got my first kimono in 2003 I was recommended to get a single layer wool kimono. This kimono has served me well for many years. It is sturdy enough to be used for regular okeiko and combined with a wool hakama is ok for most events. A single layer wool kimono is by most people considered to be a good all year choice, maybe with the exception of the warmest month.
Last year I got a washable polyester kimono that I’m very happy with. The fabric was a bit more expensive than wool. I think it looks much nicer than a wool kimono, and the lined version I got is very comfortable to have on. I think there is a lot of variation in poly fabrics so it might be harder to find comparable quality.
In summary, I would look for something in natural color like blue, grey or green. I would avoid light colors. I would also look for something that can be used for most of the year in my location. For me that is single layer wool or lined polyester.
      Did that answer your question?
