Monster trout - Canel Fishing the Mackenzie Region New Zealand

While filming some new product for Shimano we took the family along to give them a taste of a different part of New Zealand and some fresh water fishing.

The hydro canals in the Mackenzie is truely a special part of the world and massive thanks to Nicor and Cassie for taking the time to guide us in this area, trip of a life time!

What time of year was this? I've been there a few times and only caught the one fish (pretty average size too). I'm guessing you use different techniques at different times of the year.
