- Driving home with my parents from my Grandma's house in Oak Park after the game, this is the joy and mayhem my Dad captured on VHS.
We are driving east on Fullerton Ave from about Austin. At certain intersections the police had everything shut down so we would take a side street to get back onto Fullerton since that's where all the action was. We were heading home to Logan Square.
Bulls Championships usually coincided with Puerto Rican Independence Day weekend, which is a big deal on the Northwest side of Chicago. This led to epic celebrations.
These two videos make me so happy.
Part 2 of 2
What a Video!!!! I have lived on Fullerton Ave all of my life. From Logan Square to Belmont Cragin. This is pure Chicago history.
Same, from Fullerton and Western to Fullerton all the way to Harlem
Our city use to go crazy during these fun times!!! The Bulls had the city going crazy
Fullerton used to get bonkers back in the 90’s. All you would hear is house music
Sacramento and Palmer. Darwin City.
belmont and scramento
Wow! Unbelievable! 1996 was one of my best years EVER!!! No cell phones! No internet! Who cares! The world was so more interactive compared to now. I was out there on Fullerton celebrating the Bulls championship, Puerto Rican parade and Father’s Day at the same time
Same. What a great time to grow up.
I wish I grew up during that time. Born in Chicago in 2003. I now live in Michigan but I miss my home. I missed out on a great time.
No cell phones? Then how was this footage recorded?
@@Christoff070 lmao how old are u? We had 📹 these back then and would record em using video cassettes
@@mjisabeast231 sarcasm lol
I remember like it was yesterday, cruising back and forth from Western to Central, Megamall, flea market on Division, glad to have lived in the best era of Chi! 🙌
Amen to that same scene on Ashland and division around same time
I remember going to the Brickyard back when the Cineplex Odeon and FUNLAND were there. Fun times.
The 90’s in the Chi as a shorty plus MJ & The Bulls dominating the league it’s was truly a wonderful time to be alive! This video gave me chills cause everything was so different back then!
Wow this is too crazy!! I was only 6 at this time but remeber this day. This is legendary
I was out there too this night. Harmless fun and celebrating. This was before protests and anarchy in 2021. Life side changed since 2000. It’s gone to hell.
You should’ve been out when the Bulls beat Portland. That was different.
I was 22 wow Good ol memories things willl never be same anymore here in Chicago
I remember driving through this, too, on Fullerton. I was 27 years old at the time. Damn I feel old, now!
Wow great memories!!! Fullerton baby Hermosa
This was awesome!! Thanks for posting! My family was the group the cops stopped from celebrating on Fullerton. LOL
Thank you for video. Thank you even more for being so culturally open to the celebration. I was out there with friends, grew up in that whole area. Might seem extreme but that's a raw celebration. Thank you for the memories.
What does race have to do with the bulls winning? I mean really. Can’t you just be human?
I remember this day....we was all so happy to get that 4th ring. The good times💯💯
Awesome thanks for uploading. I lived right around there Fullerton and Cicero. Great times and the feel of the city after this win was awesome.
I was out there on Fullerton and Central Park! My brothers were the dumb asses on top of the trucks XD
Awesome video brings back memories of those awesome celebrations! Great parents too♥️
I remember those days man I used to live on Fullerton and Drake saw everything from the third floor as a kid. No shooting no killing everyone got along sad those

I remember riding around with my uncle dad on the south side in Pilsen the best ever
I was almost afraid to see myself out on Kimball , that was so electric! we all had pride for the city together 💯 Memories of my childhood in the hood crusin and 🤐
That's crazy you have this because there wasn't a thing a cell phones with everyone recording stuff back then.
Oh yeah, that's right! I didn't even think about that when I watched the video!!! No wonder there's so few posted on here.
Jesus, I was born in 1995 sometimes I wish I was born in the 70s to experience this as an adult.
I feel you. I was born in 1996 and I missed all of the Bulls Championships as well. There's rarely this much hype in the Chicago streets.
I grew up on Central Park on Fullerton, If you have another video please upload it. When you made that left on Central Park going north it cut off, that's where we would have be standing next to the YMCA.
Humboldt park was lit...🤩🤩 . I miss those years
Thank you for the upload 🙏
Good times. I was negative 3 years old
Best era in Chicago! Fullerton and Pulaski was bananas
I remember when the Bulls were awesome I have family in Chicago I was only 6 when this happened I wish I was there at this time.
We got pulled over for having to many people in the suburban all the cop said on the big speaker how many people can you fit in a burban think there was like 20 of us great memories #CHICAGOBULLS 72-10 GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME
Only Chicagoans who live on fully find a way to rep la Isla bonita while also celebrating the bulls win. Love the city.
Keenly, in addition to horn honking and victory shouts, because it was close to the 4th of July when the Bulls won it all, some fireworks were shot in celebration too in some Chicago neiighborhoods.
Pilseners responded with a lot of fireworks in celebration (I am talking about the people of Pilsen) - and it was not yet the 4th of July. They were just celebrating a championship.
4:00 - police were called (riot police) because I think the store was looted by hooligans and overzealous Bulls fans trying to celebrate the championship as an excuse to commit disorderly and theft crimes.
Good video fullerton was lit 🔥🔥🔥
I was 4 years old at the time of this
The best years in the chi life was much simpler we was more happy and peace than with all this phones on your face, you get to enjoy your sight surrounding and we was not bored we actually enjoyed life!!
Lmfao I used to buy loose cigarettes At that gas station back in the day when I went to kelvyn park high school lol
I was 10 at the time. I remember this. My uncle doing burnouts. Awesome night.

I may not know much about history, but one thing I’m sure of is that car horns for SURE were invented at least by this night.
Wish i can.go back jamming to B96 riding around

The Puerto Rican day fest and the Bulls beating Seattle and Fathers day same weekend.
I was wondering why there were so many Puerto Rican flags.
Fullerton and kimball
Dam I was on North Ave and Rockwell
I will remember the Chicago Bulls won the championship everybody was jumping up and down
Wow it hasn't changed much
Imagine the confusion of people who don't watch basketball. Probably thought it was the start of the riot to end all riots 😭☠️☠️
Jay Contreras 😂
Id love to know where this family is now,and if that kid loves to party.
Youngsters now says will never know the 90s
More like the puerto rican parade 😂
During those years it was like one party after another. Cinco De Mayo, Bulls win another championship, Puerto Rican Parade. It was awesome.
The lady saying "calm down" needs to calm down.
The only fin balls on Fullerton!
Those were kings standing on the corner?
