Although it also happens with quite inane comments so I suspect it’s more about how their IT systems are managed and where data is being stored if a server risks going down.
Day in day out I meet people who play the system that they want to pay out for them. Worse than this, they have a huge sense of entitlement and will cop a major strop when things do not go their way much as I see that systems are also underfunded and let people down. There’s a case for some notion of duty, not just what you can get from the state. It’s that whole “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” point. I like that idea. A lot of schools promote public service. It’s a good thing I think. With all that said I still don’t think it’s a priority and it’s a weird thing to bring up now. The issues are immigration, the NHS, the economy and housing.
What's worse: an uninformed vote, or no vote at all (apathy)? If high voter turnout promotes legitimacy, but the voters are uninformed, then how legitimate is the government?
