- Dennis makes his way up to British Columbia to check out a couple of Foose built trucks; a '37 Hudson Terraplane and a '49 GMC. Cool trucks to begin with, but with that respected Foose touch.
Starting with the extremely radical Terraplane, they are exceedingly rare to begin with. Not something you'd normally modify if you're luck enough to get your hands on one, but as long as you have the hands and skill of Chip Foose, you can successfully do what you will and make it look right. Refining what was there, subtle peaks have been added to the fenders and roof, that minor difference changing the truck altogether, as do the lowered headlight buckets. All of it keeping the mean-ness, much like the angry set of realistic blue flames arcing beside the fenders. Sculpted running boards with the exhaust protruding through. So very clean, yet minimal in some ways like the interior. On the extreme side is the tubbed rear, huge tires and a 900HP blown 454 engine to go with it. Amazing it even fits.
The '49 GMC is just as impressive, if a little more understated. A bit heavy on the front end to begin with, it's been given a bit of a rake and the hood pancaked a bit to lighten her up. Both the lights and the grill have been pulled back into the truck, and there are creases added to the hood to give a profile to that body line. Beautiful and deep, two tone paint accented with 3 tones of pinstripe and a comfortable interior designed to drive, this stunner really is the grocery-getter. The sculpted and contoured bed is a piece of art. Reliable, comfortable, and beautiful.
Chip Foose does good work, and nowhere is that more prevalent than here.

The 37 Hudson sound is excellent and looks over the top...
Chip Foose is THE Design God !
So good to see the more unusual cars as a basis for unique rods.
True Fire flames by the late Mike Lavalle.
Foose is cool designer. Love the cars.
The Hudson has the most amazing sound I've ever heard!
Lots of ideas for my 37 Terraplane, 2 door sedan. Awesome coverage Dennis!
Absolutely gorgeous trucks!!! I think Chip Goose is one of the top auto designers of his time. He is someone that is on my bucket list. I want to be able to meet him and be able to sit and talk with him. I know he has forgotten more things than I have learned. It would be an honor to be able to work with him. That would be my ultimate dream job. I would love to get his feedback on some of the cars that I have built.
**LOVE THESE TRUCKS**
I like the 49 even more then the first truck asmuch as u can admire the work that went into first truck the second is awsome 9

Those gauges are 1999 Camaro gauges. Easy enough to use Google images to verify it. He may have miss-heard Chip about them.
would love to have one of those.
Yeah….I guess so…….
can you just leave it copper with some sort of coating on it? or even make it bronze?
😢
RIP
Love both of these trucks. I WANT the 37 Hudson ....That should be my truck!!! If you ever want to sell that truck. Please contact me.
Don’t like the long cab or the really long ass. There’s like 5 feet after the back tire?
Ranger black
Martin Brothers build a terraplane I think it was a 36 it was a very very very beautiful truck in fact I think I like there's better than this one.
Is it Hudson powered or is that a Chevy I see under that hood.. LOL
Gauges from 79 Camaro? Looks more like 99 to me.....

No hi
definitely not 79
What a beautiful (former) Hudson, well done, ..... and then the disappointing cliche under the hood. Sigh.... COULD have been EPIC. Instead its just another swap victim...
Looks like a copy of a talbo
Now replace them engines with electric motors and see how soon quickly people become disinterested.
