As a French enthusiast of this sport, it saddens me to see such behavior on the court and such "spontaneous" comments. This video is entirely against Gaultier, whose deplorable attitude summarizes the paradox of this sport: an incredible debauchery of energy framed by 19th century rules. With technology and a little common sense, it's high time to drastically change judgement rules (the referee has to be both a surveyor, psychologist and polytechnician in the fraction of a second before his decision) and to impose a behavior charter, like in other racket sports. Then we can talk about Olympism.

Watched this game live, wasn't happy with the way the players conducted themselves on court at times. Turned into a scrappy let-fest affair which wasn't enjoyable to watch

My only issue with this tournament is the Court used in the earlier rounds is so poor from a spectators point of view the court looks old fashioned and does nothing to promote the sport for new spectators. I have the same issue with the Court used in the Qatar Classic very hard to see the ball when near the front of the court these, the powers that be need to address things like this if Squash is to stand a chance at being an Olympic sport.

Strange match. It's not uncommon to see an expressive Gaultier, but this looked like a stubborn and assertive Gaultier. What happened to the sporting behavior? I know it's the final, I know there's a lot at stake and if there is injustice, please be heard, but this is over the top...
It's quite illuminating to contrast the behavior of the likes of Willstrop, Ashour, Nicol, with the petulant and unsportsmanlike behavior of these two. They need to go back to school and learn how real champions behave.
This match not yet posted on passquashtv for full replay to subscribers. Come on guys, you can do better than this. I capitulated and watched these highlights; what's the point of subscribing?
Even more disappointing is that the quality of the UA-cam roundup is HD, whereas the paid-for replays that we pay for are not ??! - Come on - that's just cheap and will ultimately lose subscribers!
Hi guys, The delay is due to not having the time to upload 3GB of footage before taking the overnight flight back home, where a slow internet connection is now killing me!With regards to HD, this is upscaled SD (not true HD). The current STV platform cannot do HD. A new platform is in development which will do HD and work on all devices. I cannot wait for it as it will make the full match replaces available instantly!

CoreDaveP We were hoping soon, but there have been many new developments and options which have made the selection process harder. We'll have a press release when we are confident when it can be launched.
If you actually watch the whole events slowly and know anything. Gaultier overacts but is actually in the right. Both big events are due to Elshorbagy misreading where the ball was going. It looks bad on Gaultier untill you watch it in slow motion and understand the biology of the tendons and applied to the force impact and body balancing. Elshorbagy 2 big misreads! Had to push off of Gaultier on the second one to get to the ball.

I don't like to watch matches like this when players do their best to perjudice squash reputation.
I donnot understand why squash is still being a pay per view sport with no any other chance and options for enjoying full matches.
It is urgent to promote new watching and streaming facilities!
Farfán Michoacán Yes but until a big sponsor can cover the cost, we cannot make it free. Making it free without a sponsor is an expensive risk. We are moving forwards with the new platform to improve many aspects including cost. Worth noting that in UK, premiership football is not free as it is on subscription sports channels - even though there is so much money!

I think it's ok to have to pay. The guys on tour make nothing and the sport needs the support of it's fans. My friend and training partner has a kid has been number one in North America for five plus years and he deserves every cent he's been paid. NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB are all not free either……..
+SquashTv I know what you mean. However soccer in UK was first promoted and spreaded all over for free before making it a pay per view sport.
I hope there could be a sponsor soon. It is such a great sport and it is a shame to wath World class tournaments with no one but staff and couching Team presential audience
andrew braff I don't agree. The business in sports come when the game is spreaded, not before. If we wish squash to become popular, recognized and olympic it has to be so...popular and not PPV event. No everywhere is Germany, London or Harvard.
Gaultier at his worst
terrible display from gaultier, both as a no 1 with so many errors and mistakes and with his whining. This is the exact reason this sport has not entered the olympics yet. All this bickering does not do the sport any good, and that exaggerated push summed it up.
It's because of (the lack of) TV revenue, if anything drama would make it more of a spectacle.
