      That one was a little choppy because of the editing screw-ups the program made but hopefully you got the point. 😷

    butt crimps, for butt-head mistakes... LOL we all made them and make them on occasion, such is life :)
    having mixed electrical, electronics and other cabling background, quickly teaches you the value of never cutting off excess wiring, often times it can be used to fish in new wiring or repurposed for other function. I do tend to leave too much everywhere, fan folded/coiled, zip-tied and capped if likely permanently abandoned, I still learned to not snip things out fully.
    Boy is that nice when you go back days to 20+ years later and have to relocate, add wiring/circuits to previous splices, so easy to snip off close to the splice/devices and rewire still leaving lots of free length!

      I feel the opposite, stores actually need you when they call because they're going to loose money if the cooler doesn't work, VS Joe homeowner that calls Friday night at 11pm that has been having problems with his ac or heat since the middle of the week.

    Interesting, about how much further out did you have to pull on that thermostat?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 роки тому +1

      I'll have to recheck it when I go back to be positive but I would guess 4 inches out from a total depth of maybe 12 to 14 inches. I did mark the bulb when I was finished to have a reference point.

    thanks for the video Rick, cold rails are never fun, I work on a lot of taco cold rails, the unit satisfies early, I usually bypass the thermostat when they leave they shut the unit off and put the product back in the cooler, its near impossible to replace the thermostats, they run it through the foaming insulation and u need to get to the back of the unit, cut the stainless. not fun.

      I normally see these units at Pizza Hut but we do some Taco Bell equipment but I don't care to work on either ones equipment.

    I've always wanted that Fluke thermometer until I saw the price , and also, I heard that K type probes aren't necessarily that accurate, in that you supposedly have to calibrate them and then leave them plugged in and you can't take them out of the plug or switch them or anything... Have you experienced anything like that with them ? I've never heard anyone complain about it tho....

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 роки тому

      I checked each probe in ice water and labeled the probe what it came in at. I don't use cheap probes. I try to use either the fluke or the Cooper Atkins.

    I don’t like Randell cabinets. Their plastic interiors don’t hold u, so the insulation gets filled with bacteria infested garbage that cannot be cleaned out. Be careful not to break their new drain an when installing them. Cheap crap plastic.

    • @jerrywhite410
      @jerrywhite410 4 роки тому +2

      Randell prep tables are always leaking because factory can’t braze the outlet of a txv at the evaporator.

      I haven't worked on any new models. This particular system was purchased used and I would guess it was 6-8 years old.
