@@purplespyro814 probably looking for easier suits to make so I'm thinking you weren't picked on their list. Probably for the best tbh. People say it's very risky "hit/miss". If you're paying a high price, it's best to go with someone stable
did you check your spam/junk mail? I had a weird experience like that getting a quote from madefuryou and I miraculously found my quote in the spam folder a few days later (thank god)
Lemonbrat also uses a certain kind of clay for their eyes and teeth. My friend purchased a premade from them with these features at a con a few years ago, and the eyes and teeth are now YELLOW. She emailed them what to do about it, got no response. Then at a con, she brought the suit and asked them wtf it was and how to fix it. They told her, "There is no way to fix that because its an older thing we used to use. But for $100 we can replace the eyes and teeth with our newer material that won't yellow." After 15 minutes with an old toothbrush and some hydrogen peroxide it was completely fine. What a fucking scam of a business, they should be ashamed of their quality and customer service.
@@mindfulpawsitivity fursuits do shed. Because there's sometimes loose fur from when it was being put together. A good gentle brush and a good gentle cold wash and air dry while brushing as it dries will fix it. But don't wash it or brush it constantly because you'll lose more fur that wau
@@mindfulpawsitivity I don't want to subtract from the uploader's video, but I thought I should end with this, to this day, Lemonbrat have never uploaded a single picture of my suit to there own social media or websites, and my suit is the only Lemonbrat suit that never got a "Lemonbrat Certified" tag with it. There obviously ashamed of their own work... I dunno what else to say. I'll be saving for a new suit it will take a while but I will get there :)
LemonBrat is not a maker I'd ever recommend to anybody. I've had friends talk about their issues with it. Like the body suit being baggy, seams ripping quickly, markings being changed without permission. For the price people pay, their suits should be much better quality. If someone out there is looking to get a fursuit from them, I highly suggest saving your money and finding another maker.
Wow. How clever of Google to do that. Makes it absolutely worth it almost necessary to pay them to control their search results on you if you do business in any fandom. I'm not defending this case, but that sounds like it would effect many naive craft makers who get 1 poor review. This video has a lot of views so many people were directed here
Ya I was thinking about it but then I wanted to look in to them and I retoght now I'm looking for a different maker and I have the idea of misgiv maker half suit or just a parshal
@@invertedelbows2322Check Fluvvbusters on Instagram. There's more than enough evidence of their poor quality. Including metal in the heads, dangerous amounts of polyfil in the heads, rabbit poop in that polyfil and horrible seams.
@@BearBrews polyfil is not more dangerous than foam. But yes, metal is terrible if it's in a suit just for shits and giggle like some pieces looked in some pictures
Wait...they wanted you to pay them to fix THEIR mistakes on your suit? thats really unfair and very poorly on their part. Maybe those weren't accidental mistakes perhaps they did it on purpose just to make the buyers to send it back to get it 'Fixed' and get more money.
It's wild to me that they'd do such a thing. My maker said that if anything wasn't right, they'd take care of it free of charge because they wanted me to be happy with their work. Thankfully, my suit needed zero edits, and it was a moot point. But to charge for repairs and corrections? That's absurd.
I mentioned a missing earring to my maker and she immediately told me she'd fix it and pay for the (expensive) shipping. I could do just fine without it, but she insisted. That was right after I got my fursuit two months BEFORE expected. She recognizes that it's her job and she takes it seriously. I just wish everyone was like that.
@@fluffyfetlocks Pretty sure that inside America, it could be an easy lawsuit as well. Also, since it's inside the goddamn _reference sheet_ that the commissioner originally sent (and the commissioner paid thousands of dollars for this suit), I'm pretty sure that they can get pretty darn heavily sued.
Had the EXACT same experience around the same time as you - you may have seen my beware. I should make a video response. No progress images or nothing my suit was a diaster. They threw the suit together in 30 days before the deadline.
I was going to include a pinned comment on this video to mention your beware, because this video was made a couple weeks before your situation on Twitter sparked traction. If I filmed the video just two weeks later, you probably would’ve seen your fursuit in this video. I’ll admit, you had it 10x worse than I did. I hope things get better for you. :c
@@KittyKaijuWorks thanks everyone for your support. It was a hard time and I'm humbled by everyone's kindness. I love you all so much. I can't belive to this day I'm still getting abuse from Lemonbrats white knights. I had to start a new twitter as well and have lost all my followers.
LemonBrat is honestly a hit or miss. It depends on who is working on your suit. There’s about 5 people (that I can remember) working at their location and they all do different things. Their quality and communication is also affected by this. Sometimes, you have to pester them about progress photos, which really sucks when you’re putting a large sum of money on something that you really have no control on the construction of. Their website is also garbage that needs some serious work. There’s no recent suit examples, a lot of their information is false, and their prices need changed. Sorry for this small, probably incoherent rant, but LemonBrat needs to step up their game. (Can’t really say anything on recent construction since my suit is almost 2 years old and holding up great).
I bought a 15$ mask from them at a booth that said one size fits all and it was so uncomfortable and small. Glad I didn't buy something more expensive :(
Well that's not good enough, if they're a well known company and have multiple employees those employees should be working to the same standard like how most professional companies work
I actually almost got a Lemonbrat fursuit as my fursuit (luckily I didn't , I got a kemono suit since Im a weeb :V ) but then I saw a few experiances online where people have had either bad experiances with Lemonbrat and one person even had their suit poorly made. Some of them are cute looking but I notice a lot of them look a bit squished or wrinkled. I did the same thing you did in the beginning where I looked up cute fursuits and saw lemonbrat was one of them. And then I saw suits from people like K-line and a few other kemono suit fursuiters. (though the person I ended up buying a kemonosuit from was a kind of beginner maker from california named Kawaiimonofurs and they did amazing , highly recommend them if you like Kemono styled fursuits.) The suit costed me around 1.1k and took only 3 months I litterally had no idea Lemonbrat's stuff was THIS EXPENSIVE until I heard this video o _ O
I'll definitely have to look into that! Also, taking back my last comment because I realize I'm dumb, hey, you're that really nice artist on Twitter! Not just someone who got art from you. Which is what I initially thought but oh well
I hear so many mixed reviews about them. Here's my experience: Keep in mind that mine was a premade! This highly affects my process ( if anyone doesn't know this already ) I bought Malachi at a local convention in 2017. This was before their large price markup. Overall, I only paid $1050 for the head, paws, armsleeves and tail. To me, this was ( and still is ) a very reasonable price for a partial of his quality. I later added $150 ( I think ) for indoor feetpaws. The mixed up his toe color, which ended up being white but was supposed to be beige. Although I was dissatisfied with this at first, I ended up growing fond of the little bit of white on his toesies. Malachi is in fantastic condition. After almost 3 years of continuous wear and tear, he still has no issues. All of his seams are intact, and his paws have no holes. One of his horns is a bit loose, but this is honestly probably from me picking him up by the horn when he was newer to me, and I was unaware how they would come loose. I've only had a single stitch pop on his face, and it was only a couple of minutes of repair. The same package partial from them ( including a head, hands, armsleeves and tail ) runs for about $1,500 as a premade, now. Am I happy with my purchases from them? Absolutely! Would I return with their price increase? Probably not. Malachi was created in the "Gen 2" Lemonbrat style. From what I've heard, the time that they were making these ( in 2017 when I bought from them ) was the "golden age" for buying from lemonbrat. At that point in time, their quality was still what was expected, at a more than reasonable price. Unfortunately, folks that wanted a suit like mine at the same cost missed their chance. With price raises and changes in staff, there's just too many variables that have changed for me to recommend them with confidence. I'll probably wear Malachi actively for another 8 to 10 years before it's necessary to retire him! I feel like I got incredibly lucky, right down to timing. Wow. That was a book. Thanks for reading!
@@Hothhorn I couldn't have said it better. I wasn't following a script, so I couldn't really word everything properly, and I apologize about that, The3dCarrot. c: Any fursuit business has potential. Lemonbrat could become the next DHC or Mischief Makers if their company takes their next step in the right direction.
Wait why would they charge you for fursuit repairs, when they are the ones who got it wrong? It would be like sending a suit without ears then requesting more money to add ears which should have already been on the suit. That is madness!
They charged you for their defective workmanship?! Holy, I'd never do that nor should any maker within a reasonable timeframe. It sounds pretty scammy. There should be a warranty on direct sales of these things. I'd want customers to be happy, not sighing in disbelief.
I cringed during this whole video because I also had a bad experience with them. Here's mine if y'all are interested: I got a $400 hoodie from them because the person I wanted to com was booked until the next year. While I don't hate it, I wish I had waited. Would have been way cheaper, probably better customer support, and better construction. The way they sewed it gives me such anxiety because they sewed the fabric on top of each other instead of to each other on the markings. I understand if they did it to prevent seams on the markings, but I would rather have more noticeable seams and know that my hoodie won't fall apart than less noticeable seams and always worry about it. They also advertised a 2-month turn around on their custom hoodies. Then after sending them $400 and not hearing back from them for the entire 2 months, I had to hound them down for a reply. I FINALLY got in contact with them through facebook messenger. They were never on live chat on their website, never replied to my emails, one of their phone numbers was outdated and the other always went to voicemail. They then told me that their hoodies actually have a 4-month turnaround, which I assume they only said because they hadn't even started my hoodie and needed to cover their butts because a month later they started sending me progress pics and 2 months later I finally had my hoodie. They also almost overcharged me. They quoted me for a hoodie with long sleeves, then kept that price, but on their website, you have to state that you want the sleeves and it adds more money. So I had to get my price fixed. Had I not noticed it I would have had to pay extra for something I was already paying for. For a $400 hoodie, I would have expected it to be amazing, but honestly, the quality is pretty low. The marking stitching isn't the most secure. Also, my character has horns that slope over his head and they sewed his ears underneath the horns?? I asked them if the ears were free in the progress pics because I thought it was weird that they were squished down there, they said it was just the placement in the pics. Luckily, I know how to sew and I fixed it myself. The wings on the hoodie also have a hole in the top where you can see the white material they used inside, and some of the edges weren't sewn properly. Overall, I hated every moment of comming Lemonbrat and I haven't recommended them to anyone who asks about my hoodie. I could have made it myself, but at the time I was HELLA busy with school and working on my fursuit on top of it. Save yourself the trouble and find someone better who will respect your time and money.
Dude, they were selling premade mini partials at this year's Anthrocon Dealer's Den and they were all priced at 5600usd, including the character rights. The quality was appealing..
Listen, when you make a 3000 dollar suit, you don't just "forget" stuff or do "mistakes". When you do a mistake, you repair it ASAP so that the final product is accepted. I think that them not sending any progress photos shows a lack of professionalism. This entire story just sounds like a sloppy, negligent maker.
this is so disappointing hearing from lemon brat, ik a lot of people dont like how they run things, including how its multiple people all with different styles or tastes, honestly just hearing this is really really reaaaaaally disappointing and should be shared out more. I want a Kigu from these guys but now Im even worried about JUST a kigu
they were my dream maker until i looked into them further. almost spend 5.3k on my dream full suit (complete with a large tail and wings so it would’ve been a lot) and i’m glad i looked into it, i’m still looking to get a partial made since a full suit isn’t in my budget anymore but idk who i want to make it. maybe elk dragon but idk lol
They are actually just about done with my new fursuit, and they have definitely improved. I have a video talking about an update that they gave me, and (hopefully) next month, I will be doing a revised video. c:
aw damn, they were actually one of the first makers i wanted to commission. sucks that you had that experience, but i'm glad that your friend could help save your suit!
I would recommend buying a premade from them if you wish to buy from them at all! I would also recommend buying it a con ( LB started popping up at a relatively unknown con in my area, so they're probably around some of your local cons too! ) Buying a premade in person from them is a much more enjoyable experience than the hassle of commissions from them. Plus, you don't have to pay the shipping fees, and can look at it in detail in person before you even decide to buy it!
Dang, and thought my experience with Lemonbrat was bad. Took them 8 months to make mine and get WIPs but at least the suit was done right and they didn't charged me for the small modifications I asked for when I saw the pictures.
@@fredericbrasseur7399 I get that but it doesnt matter. Plans can change. People dont realize just because theres mutiple people working on a suit doesnt mean people dont get sick or have other life issues. Making a suit is expensive and hard VERY hard. Even with experience.
Personally, I was about to get a fursuit from Lemonbrat, but after watching this I am switching to either the Phoenix Nest or MultiColorBark. Thank you for the info!!
I was very close to getting a partial from them, then I found several stories like yours... They got me to rethink just long enough to find out SkyeHighStudios was open, and now I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Yikes! I'm glad I decided not to get a kigu from them. It sucks they went downhill, their suits are really cute. Also, its BS how they charged you for repairs, most makers have a warranty on them.
Eh I received mine today. It feels like the kigu/pj team is completely different from that if the fursuit team cuz it looks good, they made edits I needed etc. Then everyone I know who gets a fursuit from them goes through hell and back before finally getting the suit Not shilling or whatever, just something I’ve noticed
It is major bs. My warranty is 60 days from receiving the suit, and I will fix anything that is a mistake or defect of manufacturing or materials. If a stripe starts coming undone on your first outing, or the zipper I used was defective and breaks, that's all on me.
im so glad i saw this. i just ordered at 7,000 dollar fursuit from them. I just cancelled the order. probally gonna save up to 10K to get a good fursuit from a better maker.Thank you for making this video
I did get a suit recently from them, and while I can say that my suit looks and functions totally amazing at the moment (close to 3 months with no problems so far), I can agree with many sentiments in this video. First off, I got a quote from them for $3800, I thought that this price was alright from the apparent quality that was showed from the suits on their website. I saw similar top suit maker names had similar prices. After waiting a bit to grow more and mature, I reached back out to them with no problems, all fine and dandy. I made sure to ask a lot of questions to make sure I knew what I was getting and to create a paper trail. Once they created the private listing, i noticed that they did make a mistake, but they fixed it after i requested, which was nice for them to admit it. For my DTD, I made sure to not only double check that my DTD was sufficient, I also made measurements with a ruler to make sure they can compare the two types of measurements. Extra work yes, but I felt that it was needed to make sure that nothing was messed up (after all, I had a strict deadline that had to be met otherwise I wouldn't be able to take my suit with me to an important trip. Keep this in mind). They did start pretty early with work on the body suit and purchasing materials, but left everything else behind until a few weeks before the deadline. I only messaged them once in between purchasing materials and first progress pictures, but that span was *1.5 months*, way longer then it should have been. I should have known at this point that something was going to be wrong, but I was still on the high of my first fursuit coming to fruition. When the time came to ship, they realized they got a part wrong and had to redo them *a week before the hard deadline.* At the very least, they fixed the part within a day and upgraded shipping, which was better then expected (no extra cost to me!). Luckily when my suit shipped, I was home with my parents so I could get the package signed (21 year old requirement was odd). Everything was fine apart from the fan when it arrived; the wires must not have carried enough signal to power the fan on. Whatever, the battery still worked. When I asked for a replacement fan though (keep in mind that I asked for a new one 2 days before the trip), and after the whole 2 week trip plus another week to settle down, they still haven't shipped it out (for the excuse of a bad supply + waiting for a new shipment). I got it promptly 3 days after I asked and I haven't talked to them since. That reminds me though, I did send a new updated reference sheet to them (before I paid them to make sure the details were lined up), and only now I realize I need to send the head back to them because they forgot an integral part of the suit entirely, the hair. I shall email them as soon as I'm done writing this mess and get it resolved. Hopefully it will be the last time I need to contact them. Even though they did a great job overall, its like gambling on what is going to be messed up unless you play it super safe. Even though I specified the hair twice, they still missed it for whatever reason (it was pretty clear in the reference sheet and the extra details I have them). Overall, I had a great experience with them apart from the rushed suit (that still came out great somehow), missing details (the hair), and their lack of consistency when emailing me. My take is a 7.5/10. Its vital to know my experience and compare it to others to show how much variability they show in terms of quality and preparation. It's something that they not only sorely lack, but inversely doubled down on their efforts. My recommendation though? I would look into other options unless you are willing to put in extra work to protect yourself like I did. Even then you still need to follow up after the suit is made to ensure that you got what you paid for, which I didn't (just by a small margin though). Please request a hard deadline as well, as not to end up like Zaros and others. TL:DR: Read it. I didn't write all of this so you can just skimp out on important information about them.
If you're careful to do your research, there are a lot of smaller makers who will deliver a better product for almost half the price of lemonbrat. Just make sure to not trust a price that is too good to be true, and reverse image search is your friend. I have heard horror stories of scammers on instagram and amino posing as fursuit makers with other people's examples, taking deposits, and disappearing. If the person is legit with previous customers and preferably their own website, feel free to ask their customers for their experiences with the maker. Some people won't respond, but others will be happy to talk to you! It can be a lot of work to find a good quality, trustworthy smaller maker whose style suits you, but it can be done.
Beetlecat does amazing stuff. I can definitely recommend them. And they are good with issues. I had an issue with a head and they made a new one. Highly recommended.
I am probably going to commission for a partial w/ sleeves, and this is one of the only buyer beware I’ve seen for them. They were the makers who introduced me to fursuting, and I will always love them for that.
So sorry you had to deal with this, Its a shame people think this kind of customer service is acceptable. Its a shame what fame can do to a once trustworthy company! However I am very glad your spreading awareness about this, overall your suit looks amazing, despite the shit you had to go through. Overall, great video! I can tell you put a lot of love into your videos, which sadly, can be a bit rare these days. (Sorry if my writing is a bit sloppy, im a young fur, so I hope I am not coming off as annoying, Heh!)
My goal is to become a fursuit maker. Professional level communication, progress photos upon request, and ONLY ONE COMMISSION AT A TIME. I want to be the maker the world needs. And I would never let this happen.
I'll add my experience with them in here too. Keep in mind this was 2015 so some details are a little fuzzy. I paid $500 up front to get my character made into a kigurumi by them, since I'm just wearing kigus at cons half the time anyways. I got the quote and paid it off early that year and got no word from them until March when I was driving down to TFF. They sent me the finished pics from SOMEONE ELSE'S commission, and when I told them this, they said they'd get back to me soon and that my stuff was being worked on. I don't hear back from them until either June or July. I thought the navy markings on the kigu looked dark, even black, and the person emailing me said "no it's navy it just looks dark". On top of that, they didn't really show off any of the more complex markings in the photo, so I thought they were fine, and they faced the ears to the front, not the back as requested. I didn't get my kigu until August, and I didn't hear back from them at all about the minor changes I requested. They just sent me the confirmation that it was in the mail, and that was that. I opened up the box, and yep. The ears were still wrong, the markings looked like absolute garbage, the inside of the attached paws were scratchy and unpleasant, the buttons down the front were BLACK on a YELLOW stomach marking, and, worst of all, they lied about the dark color being navy. It was BLACK. I tested it against some fleece swatches I had on hand, and yeah. Black. I told them all of this, and they said to bring it to RMFC that year to give it back, and they'd start over. It was only after that and a beware I put out on them on FB that I started getting consistent, clear updates about how the NEW kigu was going. I got it less than two months later, it looked much better, and I'm just glad I didn't have to pay extra for their shoddy work. I heard from someone that the person that worked on my project that that was their first kigurumi, and they were fired after because of it? But that's probably just a rumor. Conversely, I commissioned Curlworks for a kigu the very next year. They were super communicative, have fantastic work, and finished the project in under three months! 10/10, do recommend them
Thanks for being brave enough to make a video about a popular maker! I was thinking of getting something else from them at some point, but I won't be doing that any time soon.
As an artist who sees the job as, well, a job, I find it infuriating that some artist feel entitled to delay everything and treat everyone like shit. My realistic goat suit from Coby was an absolutely blissful experience from start to end, and the quality is superb. Even got it before the 6 month limit she gave me.
One-fur-all took 1800 dollars of mine and told me two years. Now it's looking like 6 years from what I am hearing. 6 years dude. 6. Years. Got turned down by made-fur-you and several other companies because I wasn't a well known furry with a social media presence. 4,500 for my lemonbrat. Love my suit, it's adorable. Still looks great even after a hard year of wear and tear. No holes, never sheds anymore. Minor repairs. Head was a bit late, body suit a bit later. Got everything I ordered, though. My head foam was done over a single weekend, the furring done in two weeks after. It was started at about 3 months after I paid in full. I was patient with them, and I got one of the best, cutest suits they have made in a long time. They are artists. Artists are notoriously difficult to work with. Do not expect Amazon level customer support from a small company that makes wearable artwork.
I just recently got a Lemonbrat and the quality has gotten a lot better! I scrolled all the way down on the Instagram and the old suits looked lower quality and my friend had one and it was bad, but the newer ones are a lot better
Yeah, I’ve seen many YT videos on this person. She puts big chunks of metal in and does not care about hurting customers with it. They’re also very rude to customers and plays victim to almost everyone. She made a fursuit for a friend and it looks amazing! Quality was so good. She clearly doesn’t care about her customers. The stitching comes undone and she uses cheap materials, she also constantly changes her name so people didn’t know who she was, basically running away from her problems.
This is why, as a rule, as an artist I get as much information on the project as possible before beginning and then follow up with progression photos of every stage. It just saves everyone a bunch of hassel and frustration in the long run and the client ends up with what they wanted.
It's you! I saw you on fursuitreview I think. I had no idea you made videos. I ordered a custom tail (and I think ears? but those have been lost for a while now) from Lemonbrat, but this was also nearly 4 and a half years ago, back before they even really commonly made suits. My tail is ok but I'm going to be making a new one soon in order to match the warm charcoal grey fur on my head.
With lemonbrat it really depends what you say in the quote with the time they respond. I am currently getting a hoodie with the markings of my fursona and it's about $800 Australian dollars. I had said I can pay instantly and am finically prepared and got an answer the next day. The due date I put was on Christmas since I wanted to give them time. I haven't gotten it as I am still in the talking phase with them. Hopefully it's good cause the marking are really simple but who knows.
I believe that this is old but there has been alot going on talking with lemonbrade ( sorry if its spelt wrong ) and alot is in the fandom because of there very bad services
I share similar experience with Lemonbrat (I have a Lemonbrat partial that has been upgraded to a fullsuit). For everyone I speak to about Lemonbrat (who have a partial, an upgrade from partial to fullsuit, or a fullon commission), it’s a mixed experience. There are pros and cons to working with Lemonbrat but they can be summed up in a few points: Lemonbrat is a BIG company. This means: 1. Multiple seamstresses, some are more specialized, others more general. Thus, there is huge variation in actual skill and attention to detail. 2. Their manpower has to devote time/energy to fulfilling both premade partials to sell at cons, fulfilling custom commissions, and fulfilling repair/alteration orders. Limited time/energy, and with such a fast workflow (how do you think they make so many premades to sell at cons?), not as much attention/careful to detail can be made. Neither can as much attention/detail be paid to things like communication or website maintenance. 3. You will be speaking to people different than those who actually work on your fursuit. E.g. Zaros spoke with Corey, but Corey doesn’t work on suits, so he has to relay alteration orders to the people who are working on other projects too (see above, point 2). 4. There are certain mediums through which it’s better to communicate with Lemonbrat representatives. Telegram is a better choice than email because more liaisons/representatives/managers can communicate through Telegram on one-on-one basis with customers, rather than the mass email account for the company checked by one single person. 5. Their pricing is indeed very variable, depending on who you speak to, and you should not rely on their website for updated information. Similarly, information for delivery time is influenced by point 2, and also, website is out of date because of limited manpower, owing to number 2. Yes, it is very bad business practice to have such outdated information on the website, I would like to see this remedied so future customers who see their very visible website won’t be misled. 6. The 21+ request for signature is not unheard of amongst other fursuit makers, and seems a little excessive to be malicious, but the inconsistency in the same company suggests different people handled the shipping (going back to point 3). It would be nicer if you were notified beforehand, or could have made it clearer that you do not want/need the 21+ signature, and such foresight would save headache for lots of people. 7. Upcoming deadlines may result in rushed suits. Going back to point 2, lots of things to do and focus on, jobs get put on backburner a lot, so definitely please be aware that your suit may be rushed toward the end. I’d recommend people suggest deadlines, but go into any suit commission expecting those deadlines to be missed. Yeah, it’s bad business practice to ‘promise’ meeting projects by deadlines, but since deadlines a challenge for many fursuit companies to meet, regardless of their size, it’s better to be understanding and not let the disappointment get to you. Plus if the deadline is met, you’re pleasantly surprised, but if it’s not met, you’re not disappointed because you expected it to happen. Kind of a negative way of thinking about it, but it sets you up for the least disappointment in the end. Re: wrinkling in fabric (at 13;13), you have super short seal fabric (my suit has it too), so when it naturally wrinkles at joints because the fur is pushed together with movement especially on the forearms, the wrinkling shows up clear and obvious. You can brush and relax it down with the hairdryer trick if it you want, but such wrinkling is to be expected for any fur of any length, and is just especially noticeable for short pile seal fur. This is not a problem with the fursuit maker, it’s a natural issue with fur in general. The scrunching of the bodysuit is indicative of any combination of: bad DTD, bad patterning, or bad design and sewing job. In Zaros’ context of that one seamstress being fired around the same time as the work for his fursuit, there could be shoddy work done as a result of this too. We won’t ever really know what went wrong to make the bodysuit poorly fitting, but we can rule out fault of the customer if they ensure they do a good DTD. Note for anyone looking to get a fursuit done: make sure your DTD is right the first time around so you avoid needing edits in the future. Tape down to the bottom of your feet (i.e. tape a whole foot) so you get the full height, tape down to your wrists to get full length, tape up to your neck to get neck line. I highly recommend this DTD guide, but go with whatever DTD guide is suggested by the fursuit maker you’re working with: www.goldenmaw.com/howtodtd Also note for anyone who’s looking to get a fursuit, or has one or multiple suits like me: learn fursuit maintenance on your own. It will save you lots of money in repair costs, and lots of stress/anxiety at home or at cons if you can do it yourself (plus you won’t have to ask a friend/fursuit maker to do it for money/free, and you can feel accomplished having repaired your own fursuit). Overall: Lemonbrat is a big company, with lots of extremely busy employees who run a lot of different areas. This affects everything, from management, to communication, to work orders and quality consistency. The company is unfortunately not managed very well to efficiently coordinate alteration/edit work orders (hence why wait times are long for commissions or even small/moderate alterations). Further, talking to representatives is likely going to be underproductive since these representatives busy vending at cons. Lemonbrat still makes high construction quality work that will not fail (they serge their seams, it’s very durable, and the fur they use is extremely high quality). The issues Zaros raised regarding missed details, and shoddy construction may be attributed to point number 2, as well as that fired seamstress. Generally though, Lemonbrat suits are cute af and are of high construction quality. This company suffers from size issues, coordination, and communication, so be aware of this when considering Lemonbrat., and expect to have generally the same issues with any other big, busy fursuit company. Btw Zaros you might want to EQ your microphone/recording to bump up the high end so you sound less muffled. You may also want to invest in a lavalier mic to wear under the fursuit head. See you at an upcoming con!
Thank you so much for this, I thought I was certain that Lemonbrat was going to be the company to make my suit! I will look harder for better options now
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them, dude! I feel like the majority of issues people have had with Lemonbrat are a result of saying, "I don't have a deadline." I almost made this mistake but just picked Halloween because I didn't want to end up waiting forever. This is probably the best *negative* review of these guys and gals, btw. Side note... Your finished suit looks super cute! Hopefully we'll run into each other at a convention sometime!
I am having the same situation with a fairly well-known maker. They promised to make my suit within 9-10 months, and now it's nearing three years since my down payment. No progress pics, nothing. It sucks, I feel your pain.
I almost purchased the suit you see here from lemonbrat. They were going to charge me over 4000 dollars for it, compared to the 1.7 I paid for it from a smaller maker - a suit which hasn't fallen apart to this day. I was really close to getting it, but decided it was way to expensive. I'm so glad I didn't end up getting it, otherwise I may have gotten a bad suit for twice the price of a good one.
I purchased a suit for TFF a long while back, it's been less then a year and I'm finding holes in my suit as well as the fact my ears are glued instead of sewn. It's only been worn through that convention, and ACFI. The teeth in my suit head are also wiggly, and he has been handled with extreme care. I was kindve sad that lots of details were airbrushed because it makes him extremely hard to wash, and its already fading.
Damn mate , I'm sorry to hear this unfortunate story you had . Speaking for me , I'm an artist too and I'm literally amaized on how some people has a low limits of patience , since I dont force them to pay in the end and I get paied only after the work is completely done , and completely happy with that . If someone is interested or if the youtuber itself is interested , I'll share with you my FA profile
I've had my experience with lemonbrats bought a custom hooded sweatshirt about a year ago, and nvr did receive it, and they haven't returned my emails, so ya I haven't had good experiences either.
I had asked for a quote from Lemonbrat, and the estimate was $2,900. It was a decent price considering my design was pretty detailed. But by the time they gave me the quote I had found another character I wanted to make into a suit. So I asked for a new quote and I got the price only $300 less from the other one even though this design didn't have markings. It just had 3 different shades of brown in different areas. Where as the first design had like over 30 markings going down the back and tail and more markings on the face. They charge about $50 an hour for labor, and they would save hours of work on the markings for the first design compared to the new one. I wasn't happy that it was lowered to that amount especially since they said they couldn't do it before my due date. I wasn't strict on that, so I was considering it. So, I asked them to make me a design (artistic liberty) hoping that they wouldn't make it "complex" and it would be at a good price range. I payed them $65 to make a design, which mind you was finished a week later. I payed $65 for a crappy design and the price for the suit went over $5000. I wasn't going to pay that much for a design I don't even like. So I found an adopt that had SIMPLE markings, and they said that it was to detailed for it to lower the price by much. At that point I was pissed off and went on to look for another maker. They wasted about a month or more of my time on trying to compromise a decent price. I could've found another NICE and CONSIDERATE maker by that point. But no I wasted $65 for a crappy design and my time for absolutely nothing.
I had to fix a friend's feet paws from Lemonbrat. He complained about them being uncomfortable for some reason. We pulled half a dozen three-inch-long sewing pins out of them...
This is a great list of things NOT to do as a fursuit maker. I'm terrified that my customers won't like what I make for them, so I make sure they are involved at every step and I triple check each seam/marking/sizing, etc.
this is unacceptable as a fursuit maker myself, its the makers responsibility to make sure there are no rips popping seems or wrong patterns / colours. you shouldn't of had to pay for the wrong patterns and fixes that wasn't your fault its lemonbrat's especially for a 3.5k suit. i hope everything is better and fixed for you now Zaros
First of all, I want to say that I’m so sorry you had that horrible experience from LB. Fortunately my experience has been nothing but perfect, so far. I got my quote in May 2019 I believe and set up a payment plan. I payed it off in July 2019. I only commissioned a head. I told them my deadline was at the end of February 2020. Every single email has been answered either same day or the following day. I was originally told I would start getting updates in around September and I did. I received a photo of my base and a photo of my “fursuit instructions” and was told it was about to be patterned and cut from fur. That’s all my updates so far. I also decided to add a tail and again I got fast response time and I was assured adding my tail will still meet my deadline. I have been speaking to Roman and they have been extremely nice and helpful! I will make an unboxing video when I receive everything in the mail with my full review.
A little late, but thank you SO much for warning us about this. I’m buying my first one soon, and I was definitely considering buying from Lemonbrat. (They got back to me very quickly and seemed friendly). But I guess that’s nothing compared to horrible quality
I’m just praying that they won’t take too long with my order, I could never find an affordable, good, and open suit maker that actually made full partials. Lemonbrat was the perfect maker out of the hundreds that I looked at, they were even on the news and said that a head takes only 5-10 hours, which would be the hardest part of my suit. I really don’t care how long it takes in the long run, as long as when I get it, i want it to be good
I feel like lemonbrat spends more time on their premades than their commissions since I have a lemonbrat premade which was used before I see no problem in my lemonbrat currently but my friend commissioned and her head is already falling apart
I have two fursonas; ones cute the other is ferocious. I was thinking of using Lemonbrat for the cute one once I save enough money for a suit. Thanks for the warning I'll use someone eles, I got time (college student, im not in a rush). BTW your suit is adorable, I can tell you put some time in designing it.
Thank god I'm not the only one who has had problems with lemonbrat. I got a partial from them at anthrocon. I am lucky that they never got back to me for the quote I sent in. The partial that I bought had a hole in it upon purchase, I did not realize this until I got back to my hotel room. The suit is cute, but it's extremely unpractical. And they just cant seem to make the bodysuits look like they're actually tailored to the commissioner. As someone who has dealt with the brand, and as someone who has a suit by them: I'm sorry, man.
The post office needing a parent with the same last name and address is ridiculous. I'm over 18, my mom doesn't have my last name, and that's the only parent I live with!
Same! My mom hasn’t shared my last name in over a decade, I’m an adult so it would be weird. And I typically get my packages delivered to her house. I still live with her and I’m in my early 20s
Lemonbrat responded to this video and made me a new fursuit. Be sure to check out the NEW review here! ua-cam.com/video/FPGS6MXkpE8/v-deo.html
Their commissions were open so I contacted them for a quote and they never answered me back

I had the exact same thing happen, this was 2 years ago.
Same! Never heard back and this was like 3 years ago. In the end, glad I ended up with the maker I have now.
Red Paandas you work at lemonbrat?

My suit fur is falling out after one week of suiting at a con. I'm not happy. 3640$
That's normal Camaro, once it get washed and brushed off the fur loss will reduce considerably.
Actually that’s not normal at all. A fursuit should definitely not be shedding and such after only one convention.
Yes it will shed a bit, but it shouldn’t be that much. The maker should’ve brushed it to get most loose furs out before sending it
@@mindfulpawsitivity I don't want to subtract from the uploader's video, but I thought I should end with this, to this day, Lemonbrat have never uploaded a single picture of my suit to there own social media or websites, and my suit is the only Lemonbrat suit that never got a "Lemonbrat Certified" tag with it.
The fact that they tried to charge you hundreds of dollars for mistakes they could've avoided if they just sent wips is a big yikes for me.
Litterally was about to buy a fur suit off them and then YT recommends me this video...
thanks FBI man watching ;)
Same here. They’re one of the local fur suit makers for me and I was considering buying a suit from them in the future. Glad I saw this video.
FBI’s got yo back
Wow. How clever of Google to do that. Makes it absolutely worth it almost necessary to pay them to control their search results on you if you do business in any fandom. I'm not defending this case, but that sounds like it would effect many naive craft makers who get 1 poor review. This video has a lot of views so many people were directed here

Wait...they wanted you to pay them to fix THEIR mistakes on your suit? thats really unfair and very poorly on their part. Maybe those weren't accidental mistakes perhaps they did it on purpose just to make the buyers to send it back to get it 'Fixed' and get more money.
Something something this is illegal and outside America would be easy law suit
May be illegal, but it wont stop them from trying as many don’t know the law.

They were actually a hit for me, and I'm very grateful for my luck. Almost 3 years later and no major repairs needed! Only paid $1050
I bought a 15$ mask from them at a booth that said one size fits all and it was so uncomfortable and small. Glad I didn't buy something more expensive :(
Well that's not good enough, if they're a well known company and have multiple employees those employees should be working to the same standard like how most professional companies work
Also another thing for the price they charge they shouldn't be hit and miss

I actually almost got a Lemonbrat fursuit as my fursuit (luckily I didn't , I got a kemono suit since Im a weeb :V ) but then I saw a few experiances online where people have had either bad experiances with Lemonbrat and one person even had their suit poorly made. Some of them are cute looking but I notice a lot of them look a bit squished or wrinkled.
I did the same thing you did in the beginning where I looked up cute fursuits and saw lemonbrat was one of them. And then I saw suits from people like K-line and a few other kemono suit fursuiters. (though the person I ended up buying a kemonosuit from was a kind of beginner maker from california named Kawaiimonofurs and they did amazing , highly recommend them if you like Kemono styled fursuits.)
The suit costed me around 1.1k and took only 3 months
I litterally had no idea Lemonbrat's stuff was THIS EXPENSIVE until I heard this video o _ O
"Luckily I didn't get a lemonbrat fursuit.... I got a kemono suit cause I'm a weeb" I love this part of the comment
Oh wow, only 3 months? Time to update my makers’ list lol
I'll definitely have to look into that! Also, taking back my last comment because I realize I'm dumb, hey, you're that really nice artist on Twitter! Not just someone who got art from you. Which is what I initially thought but oh well
Smol Sammich hey didn’t you make me art on fur affinity? I quit on there, don’t really use it much unless I need suit help lol.
I will defiantly keep this comment in mind
I hear so many mixed reviews about them. Here's my experience:
Keep in mind that mine was a premade! This highly affects my process ( if anyone doesn't know this already )
I bought Malachi at a local convention in 2017.

Wait why would they charge you for fursuit repairs, when they are the ones who got it wrong? It would be like sending a suit without ears then requesting more money to add ears which should have already been on the suit. That is madness!

Me: hm I’d love to get a suit from Lemonbrat
Yt recommendations:
Me: huh. Okay never mind.
Here's mine if y'all are interested:
I got a $400 hoodie from them because the person I wanted to com was booked until the next year.
This entire story just sounds like a sloppy, negligent maker.

if you find a really good maker you could get three fursuits with that money my guy.
I didn't write all of this so you can just skimp out on important information about them.
jeez I was cleaning and doing my chores for a fursuit made by them.
Definitely look through reviews from customers that commissioned your desired maker! It’ll save your tail
Literally buy fursuits from anyone but. Lemonbrat is good at kigus and stuff, the fursuits have frequent customer service issues and delays
HA! whats that like?,i clean my room(the living room) do my chores AND GET NOTHING
Ok now I am commissioning Phoenixnest or beetlecat xd
Beetlecat does amazing stuff. I can definitely recommend them. And they are good with issues. I had an issue with a head and they made a new one. Highly recommended.
i want elk dragon...
@@Jewel_Man_Kisser I plan to commission Elkdragon and BeautyOfTheBass in the future...I *REALLY* want a BOtB suit of my sona

Lemon brat fursuits are very hit or miss sadly is the reason I will never commission them
I am probably going to commission for a partial w/ sleeves, and this is one of the only buyer beware I’ve seen for them.
Even got it before the 6 month limit she gave me.
saw this in recommended and hugs sorry to hear you gone through that
One-fur-all took 1800 dollars of mine and told me two years.
I’ve never done business with them, I’ve only heard the name. I’m sorry for the nightmare you went through. Your fursuit really is adorable.
I was actually considering buying a fursuit from Lemonbrat but then this showed up in my recommendations. Thanks for making this video!
This is why, as a rule, as an artist I get as much information on the project as possible before beginning and then follow up with progression photos of every stage. It just saves everyone a bunch of hassel and frustration in the long run and the client ends up with what they wanted.
I was planning to get a head but thanks for a heads up! I tried commissioning them once and they never answered
Oh, My friend works for them ;-; I'm sorry to hear that though!
I have a suit from LemonBrat and had no troubles and its in good condition. I’m sorry though for the experience you had with them
Time to plan on getting a thunderhowl studios suit uwu
I believe that this is old but there has been alot going on talking with lemonbrade ( sorry if its spelt wrong ) and alot is in the fandom because of there very bad services
Dude its literally in the title on the maker's name. You shouldnt have an excuse if its right there!
@@krysta_kittydog7975 bruh maybe they cant read it dont be such a douche
I was really interested in them after falling in love with their design... wow I had no idea how many problems people have had with them
I share similar experience with Lemonbrat (I have a Lemonbrat partial that has been upgraded to a fullsuit). For everyone I speak to about Lemonbrat (who have a partial, an upgrade from partial to fullsuit, or a fullon commission), it’s a mixed experience. There are pros and cons to working with Lemonbrat but they can be summed up in a few points:
Lemonbrat is a BIG company. This means:
I highly recommend this DTD guide, but go with whatever DTD guide is suggested by the fursuit maker you’re working with: www.goldenmaw.com/howtodtd
Also note for anyone who’s looking to get a fursuit, or has one or multiple suits like me: learn fursuit maintenance on your own.
*one of my favorite ppl now. Making the fandom aware of sketchie makers.
+1 sub
Thank you! My friend was going to get his suit done buy lemonbrat but he didn't after he saw this video, u just saved him a load of money
9:45 dude I feel so bad for you! God that's so stressful 😓
I wouldn’t even have gone that far for repairs honestly...the mailing back and forth...ughh so glad I didn’t commission them for a kigu.
No joke, was looking through their website on my phone while watching UA-cam on my laptop. This video popped as soon as I set my phone down!
Love your vids
Senpai, noticed me :O
In the words of Full Band from Ace Combat 7: "It's all about what you know"
I've had my experience with lemonbrats bought a custom hooded sweatshirt about a year ago, and nvr did receive it, and they haven't returned my emails, so ya I haven't had good experiences either.
One of my friends owns a lemon suit. I was actually thinking about saving up to get one. Thanks for making this video, I may change my mind :)
I have a lemonbrat fursuit and I’m very happy with it!
Well, good for you! I’m glad that you are satisfied with your fursuit
Wow I can’t believe they put u through all of that hell, I send hugz
I've been seeing more and more of this from people that have dealt with lemonbrat, which sucks because i really wanted a Kigu from them
Do another one of those blueberry suit videos
Oh geez- I was considering getting a partial from them 0-0 Thanks for the warning
That’s so horrible, it definitely feels like a scam, I’m sorry you had this experience
Thanks for this video. Now I know who NOT to order from!!! I will share this around to my friends so they are aware.
damn, i would expect more high quality for $3,000 + but thank you for making this video, i definitely dont want to commission them anytime soon XD
Thank you for this!!!! 💛✨Me and other furs will make sure to keep this in mind!!!
Im glad I didn't order from them yet and then I saw this changed my mind... 😅
Wow-
Thanks for the warning! I was going to commission lemonbrat but now that I watched this then nvm
There was a furry ad on this video... idk why but it's amazing
