My brother was lifted in one of these to Paddington Hospital, unfortunately he didn't make it, but special thanks to the crew for their amazing efforts!!
sorry for you loss, meaning no disrespect but you might want to revisit? There is no helipad at paddington hospital, not saying you're making it up, just maybe revisit and check the facts again.
I have to disagree. There was a choppy wind. Vehicles had to be cleared. Pedestrians would not obey cordon and lots of temporary barriers due to road works were of concern. I think they did a fine job
HEMSJim they always operate under Helimed. When they are on Helimed 27 Alpha, they have priority over all traffic. Returning to base is Helimed 27 Echo - they still have high priority as they need to get back to base to maybe restock drugs and go to another call and Helimed XX Zulu, which is basically like a normal helicopter priority for when they are on test maintenance flights and not emergencies
+Choob Driver (Choobdriver) Thanks very much. Here's the article: standard.co.uk/news/london/police-name-86yearold-victim-after-elephant-and-castle-crash-a3188286.html
It's either cyclist vs. lorry driver, or it's bike vs. lorry. The news has a habit of automatically exonerating drivers by not mentioning them, as if the lorry ran the bike rider over on it own, without human input.
This livery is still on the old G-EHMS. Virgin stopped sponsorship in 2012, so they repainted it. The new one G-LNDN is in the same livery. It reflects the charitable side of things now, as it has ‘support London’s Air Ambulance’ and shows more of what they do with ‘Advanced Trauma Team’

I always admire these guys for the work they do
Although I feel sorry for them HEMS cars and Medic 1 only takes the worst, most lifethreting calls.

Really good steady camera work. 10/10.
No matter what the subject, or where it is, there is always someone walking about with a paper/plastic cup of coffee in their hand !
Ahhh the gorgeous MD 902!! If you look on my profile about 6 months back I got a vid too! G-EHMS probably the same aircraft! Respect to the pilots! o7
3:57 barriers got knocked over on the right
Take off at 3:56
Nice work, but seemed a little slow. When the crew chief climbed in they should normally be airborne within a minute, unless something cropped up.
That's got to be the slowest take-off for an air ambulance ever!
+dangermouse1983 it was very windy. and lots of lose stuff on th ground to blow about
*****
there was. an old lady was dying
When not operating under the Helimed callsign, they have to wait for ATC clearance just like all other aircraft.

Good job it wasn’t an emergency - my battery would have run out !
Passengers on this bus, we are terminating at London Bridge, there is an emergency at elephant and castle.
Hi, I work for the Evening Standard. Please could we put this video on our site with a credit to you? Thanks
Yes, by all means. Could you forward a link to the piece when posted.

What is the name of the manufacturer and the model ? Please enlighten.........the pilot knows what he is doing.... 👍 video..
MD Helicopters MD902
@@elanglugito8003 thank you very much. 👍
Better off take the road ambulance, it would've made it to the hospital way faster.
Get well soon air ambulance patient.
It was a fatality
Miss this girl MD explorer
Fantástic 👍
I don't like seeing this helicopter because everytime I see it, I imagine someone is in great pain/trouble. That said, it's a lifesaver..
Hätte nicht gedacht dass in London ein 'gewöhnlicher' Rettungs-Heli soviel Aufsehen verursacht 🤓
Pilot took his time there. Surprised he didn't have a sandwich while checking the aircraft
Lol you funny dude . An yeah he did take long . Seems he was scared for that cross wind

Saw 1 on in front of my place, they went in started and he was away
i made a video today explaining why someone died here
Who would like to own a helicopter?
Happened to the virgin chopper? that was london's signature air ambulance! don't like this one
Same type of aircraft, just a different livery. Virgin no longer sponsors London's Air Ambulance but they do the same great job as always!

Rotterdam ?
Is it Prince William?
No, Prince William never flew for London Air Ambulance
