It's June 17th 2023 , i haven't heard this tune in many many years , I'm 53 years old now, hearing this has given me goosebumps all over.....i was bang into the rave scene in the early 90's,and in the many many venues i attended.....this tune used to always lift the roof off ....Happy times , probably the best of times , i won't ever forget my time as a raver ❤
I just searched this track while watching running man. Days of the rave, hot hatches, sleepless nights with your mates and all that came with that part of my life….amazing times
Absolutely amazing atmospheric, progressive electronic rave track; it's UK release was 1992 which would have made me 13, and my big brother (aged 19 at the time) played it a lot at full volume. His indirect musical influence led me to have a lifelong affinity of The Prodigy, Utah Saints, Eurythmics, and classic 90's rave tracks, like this one.
watching The Running Man with Schwarzenegger last night and it reminded me of this song. its reason im here.. "Who Loves you and who do you love" "Its time to start running"
Went out dancing and heard this song, it's still in my head. On repeat all day today. I had this song on a mix tape, yes TAPE, with our own little house raves.
Why do people embarrass themselves by saying this sort of shit? All it proves is you ain't into the current scene any more - we get it, you're all tucked up watching "Move To The Country" or some cooking program.... Or, checking your other likes, being a homophobe.
This track brings back so many memories of the early 90s LA acid house adventures. We use to listen to it on the drives to the venues and sitting in the car drinking. For those that didn't know, the "Who loves you? And who do you love?" Is a sample of Richard Dawson in The Running Man.
Just watched “The Running Man” on the telly. As soon as I heard Killian say “Who loves you, and who do you love?” I had to search this up and have a moment reminiscing from my yoof. Good times.
This was my mate at schools brother, he came round my house once when I got my first sequencer/sampler back in '92 to mentor me. Can't remember his name now! That's him right at the beginning of the video.
As a University radio DJ, I blasted the air waves as one of the southern United States first radio RAVE DJ's. Temple Of Dreams helped me seduce a generation! Without further ado.......
"who loves you and who do love?"🎶-from The Messiah's song Temple Of Dreams or wasn't that a Running Man movie reference? i don't know. i've never seen The Running Man. Either way, my wife loves me and i love her.❤️ ☮️🖖unfortunately, i am unable to remember my dreams. it's a common trait among sleep talkers & sleep walkers. weird, isn't it? "i haven't had a dream in a long time. See the luck i've had could make bad man good. 🎶"-twisted lyrics of The Smiths' song Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want This Time. 🎶🖖☮️
Samples from The Running Man (film), The Life Of Brian (even better film), and Song To The Siren (a Tim Buckley cover, as sung by The Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser). And a top rave tune to boot. LOVE THIS.
just listening to the original on Sounds of the 80s radio2, and as soon as i heard the intro, i knew i had to come listen to the old rave track to put a smile on my face this monday afternoon
I was 15 in 1992 and danced on Friday night to this song at an all ages goth club called Visage in Orlando, Florida that played "techno" at 12am until the place closed at 2am. Life was such a blast at age 15 with a 2:30am curfew :).
Heard this for the first time in decades on New York's DARE FM today - i have the single somewhere, an absolute classic, just like listening for the first time again.
Man does this song ever bring back memories! A couple of different radio stations, when I was a teenager, used to have a couple of hours, on Friday or Saturday nights, where they would play this stuff in a continuous loop for 30 minutes, mixed with other songs. The '80s and part of the 90s was the golden age for this kind of stuff. La Style, the klf and a lot of others that are more obscure, but far better than most of the stuff put out today.
omg I used to love this song in my early teens (I'm 30 now) as it was one of my big brother's favourite rave anthems. I'm watching The Running Man now and instantly recognised "Who loves you and who do you love"......"it's time to start RUNNING!". So I only just realised 5 minutes ago that Messiah sampled The Running Man - genius!! Such an awesome rave track; I might be showing my age but they don't make 'em like that anymore. Thanks to the person who posted the video and for sharing.
Remember blaring this driving on base while in the Army. My unit always knew when I was within a 1/2 mile radius, lol. Was told more than once to "turn that 🐴 💩 down!" #SORRYNOTSORRY
@fliegender Sarg honestly have no idea. Ali is a pakistani who had a hard time being in the band from what I recall him saying almost 24 years ago. Haven't seen him since. He is based out of London. Wish him the best!
First time I heard this in a long time. Sent tingles down my neck and back and put the biggest smile on my face. My god, those days and raves were so fuckin awesome.
Bring back the 90's. The birth of dance music, the legendary days, JX, C+C music factory, The KLF, The Shamen, Scooter and so much more. I was 16 in 92 BTW.
I had this on cassette recorded from radio in the early 90s. The Running Man was on tonight which reminded me, so I had to check out who it was by. 'It's time to start running' on ytube did the trick. The same tape coincidentally had the song 'Arnie and the Terminators - I'll Be Back'. lol
Jim Moore yeah that'll be it. I stand corrected in my spelling, it was 'Arnee and the Terminaters'. It was a radio 1 creation so that's where it was probably recorded from. It got to number 5 in 1991 according to wiki, lol
this was epic for its time. I remember when Annie Nightingale (late night Radio1 DJ) started playing this. cracking album also. I agree with not replacing the rave sceen of the early 90's. great time. made my hair stand up ... before it fell out!
Real dance/party music. Not the angry/insult ridden garbage in gansta rap and other non senses. You hear this song and you want to dance and have fun. the other only inspire violence.
@@itsyboultbee4939I was trying to find out who was in the video, you’re super pretty! I’ve just found this song and have been watching on repeat. Wasn’t even born yet til a few years later. Featuring an absolutely wonderful sample of 'Song To The Siren' by This Mortal Coil. This record is brilliant.
Your profile pic is also brilliant!!

This is one of those tunes that shaped this music back then in the early days. A beast of a track.
So true, this and Utah Saints 'Something Good.'
