Well it would have to be. Because if you were 100% clear you would go blind. So in reality the quirk just makes them in usable to everyone but them self.
if she could make clothes and body armour from her dna why not make idk lets say AN INVISIBLE KNIFE? she would be totally unstoppable if she doesn't cut herself trying to pick the damn thing up
The thing is, she could be very good at stealth operations where she can sneak up on opponents and knock them out without people realizing who is there. She can also infiltrate places and buildings without people realizing she was there. Strength wise, its not that great, but utility is leagues above most students. Her major downside is the fact she's so bubbly, happy-go-lucky, and loud that she gives herself away so easily. That and the fact that she is probably not strong enough to knock out people with one punch. What she needs to do is train in martial arts techniques (ojiro i'm looking at you) or even knock-out techniques to help improve her stealth ops and to learn to keep her mouth shut at very important moments (I'm looking at you Match 2 of 1Avs1B)
yea, seeing that how She wasn't even able to knockout that manga dude on the last episode, I think she should get a tazer/chloroform support gear. She doesn't have a competitive personality and since the light of character development never shines on her, she never improves.

You can balance it out by making it so she can only make stuff invisible when touching it, and making it only last for a certain amount of time. It'd be in-line with other quirks in the series too, since they often require and are limited by some type of stamina.

She could’ve stolen or redirect a students ray/lightbeem to attack and destroy the robots she could have also momentarily stop the robot by shining and then attack it I guess.
Since no one else said it... I believe the author explained that the robots had hidden off-switches so that stealth-focused heroes would have a chance to pass the exam. But yeah the fact that brainwash dude didn't get a chance and invisible girl did will always be a head-scratcher.
My favorite theory is that's she's actually an adult villain using her quirk to pretend to be a teenager. I mean for all we know she might be a short 30-year-old using a fake ID.

Apparently in Team Up Missions you see a brief reflection of her face at the end of the chapter where she's teamed up with Ojiro so there's that at least.
Ever heard of Phantom Limb? Where people who have lost an appendage can still subconsciously feel as though that limb was still there. I feel like it’s a similar concept to that and being blind. She’s used to it and even though she can’t see her own body she can still grasp where she is in relation to everything around her. A blind person has no depth perception but can still tell how far away their hand is from something or even their own face.
Even if Horikoshi is weirdly motivated to keep her naked it seems like a missed opportunity to not use the Lemillion suit technology to allow some cool support items. Like give her Hatsume's net gun but the material is meshed with her DNA to make what she captures invisible! This has limitless potential to set up traps or use villains as human shields.
I feel that Toru Hagakure might have some other capabilities with her quick since it involves bending light though her body as well as light she comes in contact with. But I also think this could also extend to something also associated with light and that's heat. Such as Aoyama's Naval Laser is most likely make of plasma so it should also produce a lot of heat so considering Toru can bend it with her body or hands then she can also disburse the heat that comes with it. So does that mean she can also redirect fire from Todoroki since fire, or the flame, is considered a form of plasma and a source of light. Also in Season 5 Episode 25 in the dorms during class 1-A's potluck, Toru makes the hot bowl invisible and Ojiro says "Hiding the best bites huh?" meaning she can turn other things she's close to invisible too. I feel she can utilize this ability to make a team mate she's close to invisible as well or possibly turn her close or maybe capture items invisible too. I wouldn't be surprised if she can focus the light around her and compress it into a laser herself. Also I have one question regarding her quirk. If every part of her is invisible, meaning light will pass through or around her, then how can she see? I mean you need light to enter the eye and reflect back in order to see so why is it we can't see floating eyeballs as well. She must be wearing some kind of special contacts or something.
In response to about 3:00 in, I don’t see how Deku got last place in the first test Aizawa gave when she exist in there. Literally nothing of her abilities allow her to have a greater advantage over the other kids. Deku at least got one great stat for the baseball throw. How did he come behind her??? It’s actually frustrating to think about.
I genuinely think Toru's real quirk is Light Manipulation, and her constant being invisible is a byproduct of it. We've had it explained that people can re-submit their quirk names to the Hero Commission when and if they should ever come to a realization of how it actually works, so this must be a common enough occurrence for them to have that system in place. Plus, we've seen her manipulate light multiple times, notable examples being Aoyama's Navel Laser and he Warp Refraction super move. Honestly this thought started out as a crackhead theory I made as a joke a while ago but the more I've thought about it, the more it makes sense.

Her quirk give her the abilities of a frog so he wouldn’t be able to erase it from her. The same with Toru’s Warp refraction. He needs to see the peoples eyes to use his quirk but if she’s invisible then he won’t be able to erase the Warp Refraction either.
Hagakure can also make anything she wears sparkle. She showed this ability during the musical performance. It doesn't affect her body or hair, just her clothes.
Very important question: Does Toru have a shadow? In theory she shouldnt, but when showing her hero name you can clearly see the shadows of her fingers on the paper? Can she controll it? Isnt it an incredible weakness? Or is it a mistake by the animators?
I’m going to call it now: I think she would be able to grant somebody else her invisibility for a certain amount of time/for a limited distance, and she becomes visible when she does it. I know, not likely, but that’s my prediction
Aside from being invisible, because some of her classmate have Quirk improvement, I hope in the next season she will discover that she can turn off her invisibility so we can saw her face 😔then I hope she can learn to turn someone or object into invisible like her just by touching them.
Here’s the thing. We don’t know how far into the electromagnetic spectrum her invisibility extends. It’s never been discussed or tested. During the USJ attack, Aizawa wondered if a villain had a radio-wave power that disabled the cell phones. The security system was based on infrared light. Notice a pattern? Two technologies based on electromagnetic energy were disabled. If Hagakure’s invisibility extended into the infrared and radio wave spectrum, should could have done a refraction of these energies, messing with cell phone transmission and infrared sensors. I believe this is the reason she and her quirk have never been officially introduced in the manga - her quirk is not Invisibility. It is Energy Refraction. (Yes, she was introduced in the opening episode of the Season 5 of the anime, but they couldn’t avoid it since they did a reintroduction for all the other Class 1-A students. It was OVA.)
This was actually mentioned specifically for Mirio's quirk but when invisible it would imply that light is also going through Hagakure's retinas. So either her retinas produce minor visual distortions which would be detectable, or she's blind. Or if we're really stretching, the light that's consumed by the retinas is replaced by light redirected from elsewhere. But a possible explanation for the effect of invisibility is taking advantage of the same principles of lenticular lenses i.e. bending the light around the person. And I think that Hagakure could've gotten a lot of rescue points by scouting and relaying positions. This is questionable as they didn't know about this exam formatting factor beforehand, but it's plausible due to her personality and the possibility to vulture off any kills. In the end Aoyama and Hagakure may end up being a godly combo due to Hagakure basically being able to redirect his laser output to any point at will, making him an omnidirectional laser autocannon. Anyways, too much speculation, but thank you for indulging me if you've read all this.

I think she could make her clothing invisible, but she wanted to be noticed so she only worked on ways to be seen which is the reason she came up with her new ability in pursuit of becoming visible.
Um so if Toru can control where light goes, do you think that if she somehow trains her quirk so she could be seen because all things we see is made by light, when we see an apple it's red right that's because the apple absorb all the colors of light except red and that red light reflects to our eyes and we see that the apple is red... She’s been shown to be able to make other stuff invisible and refract light as a flash bang, combine those and you have a character that can turn the environment into a invisible maze where an attack can come from anywhere either as a painful blinding attack or a physical attack where she sneaks up on ya, she could even make use of invisible weapons if she brings them with her, she could be really awesome if they let her develop a bit more
This reminded me of one Moomins episode were we have this invisible girl. She became visible just when she was angry at moomin papa. It was different scenario in comics but the cause was suppressed emotions that she was afraid to show up.
At this point, with quirks like rewind, new order and foresight I'm willing to believe invisibility does not follow the laws of physics to the letter and Tohru is both able to see despite reflacting light and somehow able to see herself despite being invisible.
I remember someone saying that the robots the students had to defeat had on-off buttons somewhere on them. So she might have passed the test by turning them off since you didn't need to destroy the robots to get the points. But take this with a grain of salt since i'm not sure if this is even correct
From what I know, the robots actually had a button that shuts them down so since Tooru is invisible she can sneak up, find the button, and shut them down...so long as she doesn't get her points taken first.

I would love if she like moved the light to basically cover her inside making her get seen but she would be glowing and it would probably drain her from using it a lot
Her quirk could be so much stronger because if she can reflect light and bend it maybe her next step is to absorb light. And maybe once she absorbs light she can shot it out like a powerful laser beam. Also light creates heat so this combined with the suit idea from the video she can maybe transfer the heat from the absorbtion to her hand a have some sort of lightsaber but in her hand. Also in episode 25 of season 5 she shown turning objects invisible and that brings up more ideas. And if she could learn some martial arts from Ojiro she cold be super powerful. A martial artist shoting lasers while having lightsaber hands and being invisible.
You know if you think about it in base form Toru is stronger than Midoriya (without quirks). She scored higher than him on day 1 at UA meaning that she scored enough points to not only beat his score but also beat his ball throw. I know this was at the beginning of the school year but if she worked out like he does then she could totally kick his as in a 1v1 no quirk.
Quick fix for Her invisible problem: wear those digital mask things, or just get a specially made mask, somewhat like Deadpool’s (I know it’s CGI, but this is a world of fucking superheroes, I’m sure they could figure it out)
I think she should be blind since retina 👁 need to absorb light to register light. If light passes through her retina then her eyes don’t function. Also if her retina absorb light then she should be seen with floating eyes along side her gloves and shoes.
It has been two years since this video, so, I would like to ask will you do new videos now that we might have more information about these powers and coming to the end of the story.
Hagakure would be a great stealth fighter, especially if she had a weapon made with her DNA. It's a bit of a stretch, but she could develop the ability to manipulate the light around her body to make herself look like anyone else Also, the only good explanation for how she sees is that she passively produces an illusion for herself that looks exactly like the outside world, so she should be able to control the vision of other people too.
when I see Toru Hagakure, I cant help but think of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie character Rodney Skinner. how Rodney Skinner use face paint or something so everyone can see his face, why cant Toru Hagakure do the same.
If Aizawa used his quirk on Ojiro then he wouldn’t be able to move his tail, but would it work for Tsu? Like would she not be able to stretch out her tongue as much? Also if Aizawa used his quirk on Hagakure would she turn visible or would she just not be able to refract light (that’s one of her special moves)
So I still think there are some students who can actually see her silhouette regardless of her quirk. Don't forget that light is always passing through her, so that means anyone with an animal quirk will notice her even if she was to walk around nude. Either they notice her by the subtle shift in light or by her scent or the ability to see her through infrared, I'm sure a few students can still figure out where she is standing. Also, if her quirk is always on, can't EraserHead just turn it off or does he actually HAVE to see the person to do that instead of looking in the direction. Is she immune to that attack because he can't see her? Hmmm...
When I first watched mha I thought Toru only power was invisibility like she can only turn invisible and that’s it and I thought it was kinda useless in my opinion.

Two technologies based on electromagnetic energy were disabled. If Hagakure’s invisibility extended into the infrared and radio wave spectrum, should could have done a refraction of these energies, messing with cell phone transmission and infrared sensors.
I believe this is the reason she and her quirk have never been officially introduced in the manga - her quirk is not Invisibility. It is Energy Refraction.
(Yes, she was introduced in the opening episode of the Season 5 of the anime, but they couldn’t avoid it since they did a reintroduction for all the other Class 1-A students. It was OVA.)
An evolved form of her quirk and Mirio's whould be unstoppable
This was actually mentioned specifically for Mirio's quirk but when invisible it would imply that light is also going through Hagakure's retinas. So either her retinas produce minor visual distortions which would be detectable, or she's blind. Or if we're really stretching, the light that's consumed by the retinas is replaced by light redirected from elsewhere. But a possible explanation for the effect of invisibility is taking advantage of the same principles of lenticular lenses i.e. bending the light around the person. And I think that Hagakure could've gotten a lot of rescue points by scouting and relaying positions. This is questionable as they didn't know about this exam formatting factor beforehand, but it's plausible due to her personality and the possibility to vulture off any kills. In the end Aoyama and Hagakure may end up being a godly combo due to Hagakure basically being able to redirect his laser output to any point at will, making him an omnidirectional laser autocannon.
Anyways, too much speculation, but thank you for indulging me if you've read all this.

Ooooor maybe the original invisble girl already got her wish granted, and we're seeing some random villain who took her place after being granted the quirk that was removed from the original invisible girl. I mean we really have no way to determine her appearance or age in the series, so unless UA gave her a DNA test...
Why can't Tooru just ask Mr.Aizowa to use his quirk on her to take her power away for a few minutes to see how she looks like

Her quirk is mutant type. So he’s not able to erase it from her since her quirk affects her body. For example Tenya has engines in his legs and Aizawa wouldn’t be able to erase the quirk because it’s part of his body. The same with Asui. Her quirk give her the abilities of a frog so he wouldn’t be able to erase it from her. The same with Toru’s Warp refraction. He needs to see the peoples eyes to use his quirk but if she’s invisible then he won’t be able to erase the Warp Refraction either.
I think she could make her clothing invisible, but she wanted to be noticed so she only worked on ways to be seen which is the reason she came up with her new ability in pursuit of becoming visible.
Um so if Toru can control where light goes, do you think that if she somehow trains her quirk so she could be seen because all things we see is made by light, when we see an apple it's red right that's because the apple absorb all the colors of light except red and that red light reflects to our eyes and we see that the apple is red...
So what if Toru could do something similar.

She’s been shown to be able to make other stuff invisible and refract light as a flash bang, combine those and you have a character that can turn the environment into a invisible maze where an attack can come from anywhere either as a painful blinding attack or a physical attack where she sneaks up on ya, she could even make use of invisible weapons if she brings them with her, she could be really awesome if they let her develop a bit more
She can bend and control light so if she learns it really she could turn visible 😅

This reminded me of one Moomins episode were we have this invisible girl. She became visible just when she was angry at moomin papa. It was different scenario in comics but the cause was suppressed emotions that she was afraid to show up.
At least we can see her expressions and still don't know what she looks like
At this point, with quirks like rewind, new order and foresight I'm willing to believe invisibility does not follow the laws of physics to the letter and Tohru is both able to see despite reflacting light and somehow able to see herself despite being invisible.

I remember someone saying that the robots the students had to defeat had on-off buttons somewhere on them. So she might have passed the test by turning them off since you didn't need to destroy the robots to get the points. But take this with a grain of salt since i'm not sure if this is even correct
From what I know, the robots actually had a button that shuts them down so since Tooru is invisible she can sneak up, find the button, and shut them down...so long as she doesn't get her points taken first.

Her quirk could be so much stronger because if she can reflect light and bend it maybe her next step is to absorb light. And maybe once she absorbs light she can shot it out like a powerful laser beam. Also light creates heat so this combined with the suit idea from the video she can maybe transfer the heat from the absorbtion to her hand a have some sort of lightsaber but in her hand. Also in episode 25 of season 5 she shown turning objects invisible and that brings up more ideas. And if she could learn some martial arts from Ojiro she cold be super powerful. A martial artist shoting lasers while having lightsaber hands and being invisible.

You know if you think about it in base form Toru is stronger than Midoriya (without quirks). She scored higher than him on day 1 at UA meaning that she scored enough points to not only beat his score but also beat his ball throw.
I know this was at the beginning of the school year but if she worked out like he does then she could totally kick his as in a 1v1 no quirk.

She could just wear makeup all over her body if she wanted to appear visible, it’d take a while to apply, but it’s not impossible.

I think she should be blind since retina 👁 need to absorb light to register light. If light passes through her retina then her eyes don’t function. Also if her retina absorb light then she should be seen with floating eyes along side her gloves and shoes.
It has been two years since this video, so, I would like to ask will you do new videos now that we might have more information about these powers and coming to the end of the story.
Hagakure would be a great stealth fighter, especially if she had a weapon made with her DNA. It's a bit of a stretch, but she could develop the ability to manipulate the light around her body to make herself look like anyone else Also, the only good explanation for how she sees is that she passively produces an illusion for herself that looks exactly like the outside world, so she should be able to control the vision of other people too.

If Aizawa used his quirk on Ojiro then he wouldn’t be able to move his tail, but would it work for Tsu? Like would she not be able to stretch out her tongue as much? Also if Aizawa used his quirk on Hagakure would she turn visible or would she just not be able to refract light (that’s one of her special moves)

So I still think there are some students who can actually see her silhouette
regardless of her quirk. Don't forget that light is always passing through her,
so that means anyone with an animal quirk will notice her even if she was
to walk around nude. Either they notice her by the subtle shift in light or by her
scent or the ability to see her through infrared, I'm sure a few students can still figure out
where she is standing.
Also, if her quirk is always on, can't EraserHead just turn it off or does he actually HAVE
