Now this was a short video! 😱 But I like the idea. Why buy when you can build it yourself? 😁
And don‘t bother about your jokes. They make me smile. So you brightend up the life of at least one person in the world. 😉Thank you for that!
Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Thanks! Apparently there's a few of us around with strange senses of humor, after all. 😄
Appreciate you taking the time to share this wisdom have a blessed day
Thanks, Tim. I appreciate it! 😄
Dan, I like the things that you do, and they always leave a smile on my mug.
John
Thanks! That's nice! 😄
Whatever you do, don't give up the jokes, man!
That's half the charm of the channel because it's what make you uniquely you! 👍
And cheers for that awesome theft of a product, I mean adoption of a product... 👌
2 guesses what all your followers will be making... 😎
😂😂bwahahahahaha😂😂
Thanks! Sometimes I have to remind myself to bring the funny, and then it usually comes pretty easily. This one was a stretch, but since the video was so short, I went with it anyway. But I'm glad you like the humor, so I'll make sure to keep it up, 😄
Great little tip. Thanks.
Thanks, and you're quite welcome! 😄
Awesome little build
Thanks! 😄
"OH! It's _very_ sucky!"

😂I had forgotten about that scene. ua-cam.com/video/wUE98jNK9iQ/v-deo.html Very funny!
This is a great idea and I appreciate you sharing this with us.
Thanks, and you're quite welcome! 😄
Love the daft humour. Keep it up!
LOL thanks. That's the perfect word for me - "daft". 😄
Nice job! I love cheap and functional
Thanks! Me too. 😄
Love it have application for it right now. Thx Dan
Awesome! 😄
Cool idea. Thanks.
Thanks! 😄
Great Idea... thanks for sharing
Thanks, and you're welcome! 😄
Nice tip, thanks for sharing
Thanks, and you're quite welcome! 😄
I haven't tought about this before but you inspire me now! great idea man!
Glad I could inspire you! 😄Thanks.
simple good and beneficial
Thanks! 😄
pretty awesome actually
Thanks! I like it. 😄
great idea
Thanks! 😄
Thanks for sharing
You're quite welcome! 😄
Thats a great build. The jokes didn’t suck either!
😂That's really good! And thanks. 😄
innovative ideas cheers Dan. I like your sense of humour, when i tell jokes like that at work the younger kids go dad joke :-)
Thanks, and LOL. It's totally a dad joke, although I'm not sure I ever understood the distinction. 😄
Nice!
I made one pretty much like yours but it kept clogging up!
I made another one out of an old/used CPAP hose which has about a 3/4" ID. It still clogs up but not as much as the 1/2" ID hose!
Hey, that's an interesting idea. I have a bunch of old CPAP hoses. I'll have to remember that for future projects. Thanks! 😄
A simple, but good idea. 🇬🇧
Thanks! 😄
Great minds think alike, I made the same pvc and tubing setup to cleanout the lint channel on my dryer. Now I can show my GF and show her it has a new job it can do and please allow it to live..
😂We all know who runs the show, right?
@@TheNewbieWoodworker indeed...
liked have to make one thanks
Thanks, and you're quite welcome! 😄
I use something similar to clean the inside of the dryer filter
That's a great idea! Thanks. 😄
I like it
I'm glad! 😄
I do the same thing. See something cool and make it myself. The MicroJig is a good example. Simple to make and it'll save you nearly $60.
How did you make it? Did you make it using someone else's design, or your own? If your own, do you have any pictures?
@@TheNewbieWoodworker I just copied the design from a pucture of it. I used t tracks for the front and back and a mouse pad for the grippy bottom. I can take pics but I'm not on any social media where I can post them. There are videos of other people making it though. The cool thing about is it can be custom to your liking and be repared easily if damaged.
@@basanistes359 Sounds cool. If you feel like send me some pics, go to my website and click the "Menu", and you can email me from there. thenewbiewoodworker.com. (I don't like posting my email address here, for obvious reasons.)
Very nice! I've ghetto-rigged something similar in the past a couple times with a straw and duct tape. Yours looks much nicer, and probably took way less time to build. 😂😂😂😂
LOL. I hate to say it, but if mine looks nicer, that doesn't say much for yours. 😂Thanks for the comment. 😄
Thank you for sharing this. I need to make one of these. Would be nice to figure out a way to add a little brush, or wand to the end. More heat - molded PVC? I will keep my eyes peeled for possibilities.
This type vacuum tube, we can afford to have lurking around! (My spouse has a vacuum tube collection. I caught the comment below. :) )
😄
I guess the vacuum tube collection is miniscule compared to my scrap wood piles. (Although we both generate scrap wood, I am the one who hangs on to it so I admit guilt.)
@@rwind656 😂
I was expecting a cathode a plate and grid, and a heater element, you really got screwed, that vacuum tube not going to do what you expect it to do. You are right that Vacuum Tube Sucks. 🤣
I *so* wanted to work in some jokes about that, but the truth is most people have no idea what vacuum tubes are anymore. And I couldn't come up with any jokes, either. So I'm glad you understand the potential, anyway. 😄
Very clever, I did not notice the price they wanted for the one on eBay but I would bet yours was cheaper.
Thanks. It's hard to say what's cheaper. Since I already had all the parts, then obviously it was cheaper for me.
Love your jokes (and info)! KUTGW. If you do not have a 3D printer yet, then I think you would love the possibilities it gives the maker in you ...
Thanks. And although I'd love a 3D printer, I know I'd never find time to make videos again, I'd be so immersed in it. 😄
Wow I can use this. And I have everything.
LOL. There's no such thing as having everything! 😂
@@TheNewbieWoodworker True. But I have all the parts you show. I could make 50 of them. But I only need one. LOL
@@Vman7757 👍
Great saving tip Dan. Man I would like to meet up sometime just to pick your brain.
Thanks, and I'm guessing you'd be disappointed. 😛What general area do you live in? And feel free to shoot me an email with questions or just to chat. You can email me from my website - just click "Menu" and email me from there. (I don't like to post my email address here.)
@@TheNewbieWoodworker I live in La Habra
@@lonewolfcry I live in Placentia. We might be able to arrange something.
LOL, I've done this before at work, didn't think much of it at the the time, hey works right? 👍
Yep - I'm all about "does it work?". 😄
Might it be better if you placed a bit of silicone around the tube and the plastic connector?
I don't feel or hear any air leaking, so I don't think so. I could be wrong, but this seems to work OK without it.
If it ain't broke...
@@David_Powell ...then keep fiddling with it until it breaks right? 😂
Hi Dan, I agree with the others, don't give up joking...
And it is abit late to ask something but I hope you'l see my question. I have a Bosch GAS35AFC (don't know the name in states), a powerful one. But when input end is too small (like your small sucker) it alarms. How to solve this problem? Is the alarm not important? Do you experance the same problem?
Couldn't give up joking if I wanted to. Jokes are my life, or... my life is a joke, something like that. 🙄
Interesting about your vac. No, mine doesn't alarm. One option is something like this: www.rockler.com/dust-right-reg-shop-vacuum-handle. If you look at the picture, the blue "collar" or whatever you call it covers a big slot, and you can turn it one way to gradually close the slot, and the other way to gradually open it up. This would let you adjust it until the alarm stops - in fact, that's probably what it's designed for. I'm not sure I linked the exact right one for the size of your pipes, so double-check that. I have one of these and I love it.
You could also just cut a hole or slot in the PVC to accomplish basically the same thing. Hope that helps!
The Newbie Woodworker he could drill a series of holes in the pvc tube to let the right amount of air in to silence the alarm. He can use his holding hand to cover some of the holes or uncover some to achieve the proper balance of air being received by the vacuum machine depending on what’s being sucked up at the business end.
@@tonywu6612 Thanks, that's a good idea. You could also use pieces of duct tape to cover some of the holes, as needed.
I wish I had seen this and you other stuff on pvc, before I spend a small fortune at rockler. So much of that doesn't fit anything.
I totally get that. I got lucky when I started working on my dust collection a while ago - I figured out right away that you can mold PVC. I don't remember if I saw it in videos (probably), or I figured it out myself, but it saves a lot of headache, that's for sure!
And thanks for mentioning it! I was hoping that little section would help someone. 😄
It really does suck!
Is that better than blowing hot air? 😂
That image at 00:34 looks like you’re reviewing something that might get you demonitized.
Why do you say that? I'm not saying you're wrong, and I totally appreciate that you're looking out for me. 👍But why would a shot of a Rockler page get me demonetised?
@@TheNewbieWoodworker I expect chef_pc is referring to the fact your invention looks rather like it could be misused in a p*rno. Lol
@@ksp1278 LOL, and wow, I'll never unsee that. 😳😂
@@TheNewbieWoodworker I must confess, I thought the same thing. Another distraction you don't need while working with power tools. LOL
@@jim9637 😂The funny thing is, I'm usually the one noticing things like that. So it's pretty funny to be on the receiving end, so to speak. 🙄
