This whole thing is frustrating because from the outside it makes you think rah we ended well last season let’s go and push on. Maybe this way to do business is good but in sports you don’t really have the ability to think such long term because things change normally within 3 years. We have a good squad I think but overtaking Arsenal and city is just not realistic but I do believe the 2 and 4 spot for Europe is up for grabs . I just hope we get Enzo to install his ideas and we hit the ground running . There is opportunity for us to capitalize on things if we go about it the right way
both United and Liverpool are in transition. Who knows what Spurs are doing. Villa will have a busy season. Chelsea is very good positioned for a good season.

Because they helped us by paying 37.5m for Maatsen, Maatsen at most goes for 30. Also this helps in building an understanding between the clubs because we helped them when they needed it.

I don’t even know what to say about this football club anymore. How about David Washington and Dujuan Richards? Ain’t they good anymore? What is the pathway for this young guys to develop?
We talk about these moves not being worth it due to the options we have in our current squad.. but to me, this was the case last year as well. I believe the key is depth.. were signing profiles that are comparable to our current team for depth. Making "lateral moves" makes sense to me if we're trying to compete across tournaments now and going forward, it makes logical sense to pursue financially friendly players to fill these gaps while we continue to rebuild.. and yes i say rebuild because were just not at the level yet. Just my thoughts

I can only assume that the Clearlake board are broadly satisfied with the first team as it stands, and expect the players who weren’t available last season to make the difference that gets us to top 4.

Whether you’re inspired or not, do you really think that with key players staying fit, like Nkunku and Reece, we can’t get UCL football next season? Palmer, Madueke and Jackson more experienced, fitter players, a system that might suit the likes of Sterling and Enzo better. I think this doom and gloom perspective is a bit over the top. We only finished 5pts off of fourth with a depleted squad for most of the season. And that was with us still dropping points we shouldn’t have dropped (e.g. Burnley, Sheffield etc.). What you think? Do you not have faith in the talent we already have?

You can't predict with certainty that a great young player/wonderkid will develop into a great player in his 20s and 30s. Anyone whos watched football long enough knows this. And Chelsea more than most should. Gael Kakuta, Charly Musonda, Nat Chalobah, Lucas Piazon, Kennedy, Izzie Brown, Micheal Woods, Islam Feruz, Lewis Baker were all wonderkids outa the academy or who we spent money on but never became the great players we expected them to be. For every Messi who carried their wonderkid status forward there are 5-10 others who didn't. So I wouldn't recommend spending big on potential. Id rather spend big on a 20 something year with 1st team minutes who is able to integrate into first team now (and has the potential yo improve) than. 16/17 year old "wonderkid" who we hope get's better a breaks into the 1st tram in 2 years. He may not!

Niinii I believe the vision is the blueprint of Brighton x 1000 I.e. investing a lot more money. Send the talents on loan, and keep some at the club who they believe can challenge in training or need the exposure. Sell players over 23 should another club come in, promote players within who are next in line (Sell for 50mil +, promote a 10mil + talent = 40m +/- profit). It is very risky to be successful as we were doing something similar with cobham. But the next new shiny toy was always prioritised. Leaving many talent to be sold at the cheap and contracts running out. But the talent was most definitely there. You are also promoting talents that may not have winning mentality (potentially, not helping the success of the hunt for trophies but lining the pockets of the business men). Winning mentality is what you get purchasing certain established players. It is an experiment that I’m excited to watch, as my emotions change daily. Makes you feel alive.

Chelsea will still be an elite place to go and learn as a young player. Ultimately its up to you to work and hope you have the required talent, then you will have a career - at Chelsea or somewhere else.

Nini these new owners are teaching us patience. Osihimen and olise are both injury prone . Chelsea had a crazy injury list last season. In fact when were trying to get olise he had a hamstring injury. We don't want to win the league one season and then can't defend it the next.

I’m not a fan when I hear people say 4th 5th option players. It’s not how it works trust it’s not lol sometimes the option 1 you think probably option 3 but because option one at the time didn’t want to chat or felt they had other options they wanted to explore and maybe didn’t pan out then we speak to them. Also these journos don’t know everything I doubt they do the transfer market is so volatile that things change way too fast and by the time you hear news is 1 week stale. Sometimes I would rank players based on the news dropped.

Pursuing players for months and not eventually signing them is nothing new, Liverpool chased Lavia for months last season and didn't sign him eventually, we chased players like Aguero, Robinho, Neymar, etc under Roman Abramovich and didn't sign them, why is this failure to sign Olise suddenly such a big deal, this new owners since they came in always signed their targets up until now, and only failed to secure Olise for very understandable reasons. Again clubs doing everything legal to balance their books is not such a bad thing, BlueCo and working on their multi club model and so I'm sure they have a plan for all these players they're signing, always whining and complaining about every failed move or for every transfer is honestly not necessary.
