There are only three essential Elvis movies, they're all from 1957-8. From the difficult remainder of his screen career I would single out four as definitely worth seeing - Flaming Star, Wild In The Country, the strange and misleadingly named The Trouble With Girls and his last one Change Of Habit. The rest are a mixture of well-done silly stuff (GI Blues, Blue Hawaii, Viva Las Vegas, Stay Away Joe, Speedway), poorly-executed silly stuff (nearly everything else), 1 x "failed experiment" (Charro) and 2 x "nice soundtrack, pity about the film" (Tickle Me and Live A Little)
Kids today dont know or understand how amazing the music of the 50's and 60's was. There was no special affects, auto tune. THis song is a great example of Elvis' command of his voice and just frickin rock..Your reactions to this song are cute.
@@leeharcus7001 That's how you look it. For me Jailhouse Rock and King Creole are the best, though Love me tender must not do under. With Love me Tender Elvis was seen as the next James Dean
Of Elvis' movies, I think, that 'King Creole" is the best with "Jailhouse Rock" a close second. Third is "GI Blues", then "Viva Las Vegas". The others are entertaining and worth seeing but kind of generic.
My absolute favorite Elvis movie. He was so freaking cool. I wish Blue Hawaii had never came out...it was so successful that they never changed the pattern and he didn't get to stretch as an actor. Elvis was, for a long time, the highest paid actor in Hollywood!!!! Watch King Creole and/or Jailhouse Rock.
Absolutely I agree King Creole Jailhouse Rock and I'd like to Wild in the country and it's a comedy I like Follow that dream and another because I also liked Ann-Margret and Elvis together I like Viva Las Vegas
Hey all, Elvis was a good actor. He could do anything he put his mind to. Fact is, he had terrible scripts. Yes, Hollywood used him for his image; sad...
King Creole is one of my Favorite movies and he and the whole cast is Wonderful in it. Such a good movie! Probably my favorite soundtrack of all his movies too.
King Creole IS a great movie to react to. You reacted to a couple songs from Jailhouse Rock, including the title track. All but one of hos movies featured Elvis singing in the story line. His last feature film which was titled "CHARRO!" Featured NO singing at all, except the title song over the opening titles. The song was sung by Elvis, but once the movie and the action started, no singing. It was the type of role Elvis always wabted to play. Straight acting, real dramatic role. In that movie, he played a cowboy...an outlaw gone straight. He has a beard in that movie too. They're ALL GREAT movies, but if you wanna react to Elvis' movies, here are what many think are the best ones. This is no particular order: Love Me Tender (1956) Loving You (1957) Jailhouse Rock (1957) King Creole (1958) G.I. Blues (1960) Blue Hawaii (1961) Viva Las Vegas (1964) Change of Habit (1969) CHARRO! (1969) Those are not NEARLY all of his movies. He made 31 feature films and 2 Concert documenteries in the 70's. The movies I listed are generally regarded as his best ones, though us die hard Elvis fans like them ALL.
You need to watch Flaming Star, and Charro, and Love Me Tender, and Wild In the Country. These are some of my favorites and a lot of other people's too!
ELVIS WAS ACTUALLY CAUGHT UP IN THE MOB. KING CREOLE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES. "CHARRO" IS ALSO VERY GOOD, AND SO IS "LOVE ME TENDER". HE WAS IN AROUND 37 MOVIES, AND I LOVED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. IN FACT I HAVE 5 RECORDED ON MY T.V. NOW! IT DIDN'T MATTER TO ME, ELVIS COULD DO NO WRONG! I LOVED THE GUY.
50s early 60s Elvis at his best Elvis in King Creole great acting performance early Elvis definitely when he was at his best jailhouse Rock flaming star wild in the country those movies just as good along with kid Galahad definitely a good actor when given the right script
Trivia India: the film was great because of Elvis -- and most importantly it was directed by Michael Curtiz (kur-tease) -- famous for one of the biggest classic films in history -- "Casablanca" with Humphrey Bogart & Ingrid Bergman. The story was based on the novel A Stone for Danny Fisher -- by famous, successful author Harold Robbins. Your expressions are priceless. Good job.
Elvis had his ups and downs, but this was his best movie and the fact that they shot it in black & white at a time when his name could easily have commanded a color budget says a lot about it as a piece of art. If you want a couple of more highlights, check out "Hard Headed Woman" and "Crawfish" on YT.
They called him Elvis the pelvis grandmother told me stories about him... How would a watch him or .. Listen to his voice .. Her and her friends would pass out
The most handsome man i have ever seen to be honest... picture perfect. hey can you play crimson and clover / blackheart . It shows a close up of joan jett up close with no microphone .. theres a few up but this is the best version. You will be glad , i promise.
This movie was a lot more than what you saw I recommend it and get the black and white version because that's where the magic is and King Creole it's not about a freelancer. It is a character role Elvis is playing about the struggles in a young family in New Orleans and once you see it I would like you to react to all the songs in the movie and if you could mention what you thought of the movie on your next reaction thank you Simone
Elvis received his draft notice in December 1957 and was inducted into the Army in March 1958. After basic training, he served in Germany. His service in Germany was thirteen years AFTER World War II ended.
You can bet some of those guitar close-ups were really of Scotty Moore's hands - in the longer shots Elvis' famously unsteady rhythm work is visible. (They take care to keep his fretting hand just out of view).
Your a beauty Spiritual Angel gorgeous face and just adore u sister from Heaven! Your sister brethren, with love My Gods given name is Nicole Susan Victory 4 the People For us We are winning ! Heaven on Earth is possible Thank u ! Elvis my Hero
I remember when he was on Ed Sullivan show the censors would only allow him to be filmed from the waist up. Back then the moves he had weren't allowed on tv...
Interesting as to what reasons people have to give this the thumbs down. I wonder if it is totally music related or are they due to unfounded rumours of his views and actions that still exist in some people's minds.
Your reaction is you seem surprised with Elvis in his younger years and very energetic. If you want to watch a full length Elvis movie, you must watch Roustabout. Elvis himself said it was the best picture he ever made. The other movie would be Viva Las Vegas. In my opinion, the two best movies Elvis made. All of his movies were entertaining but these two stand out.
India if you're going to watch any movie King Creole is highly recommended that was his best acting then another movie he did wild in the country more acting ability there just like in King Creole and all the songs from King Creole if you could upload them from the movie clip it's wonderful black and white very artistic like

There are those who feel that Elvis was drafted into the Army to help tamp down the rise of rock & roll music in the late 50's. This, along with the loss of Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper in a plane crash set back R&R for several years. If you want to watch a movie about R&R you should watch The Beatles "A Hard Days Night - a classic!
