Love the hat!..took me a few tries until I understood how it works..however, it does not come out to the same size as yours...I used size 4 crochet hook with comparable yarn...my hat would have taken alot more rows to get the hat shape...so frustrating 😑!!!
it also depends on your crochet tension, everyone has different tension, yours might be tighter than mine that's why yours took more rows, so sorry that's been frustrating to you

I need to make it 8inch in circumference and length 3inches how many stitches ahoul i start it with
