What? The only two things they have in common are that they are Canadian and both bands have a female singer... after that they are nothing similar at all. Weird.. but
@@cooltechnician both epic themed female fronted metal bands... of course they don't have the same sound but that's irrelevant to my point. Now if I said they had similar sound I'd say Jinjer. Even then Jinjer is far more technical .
A pleasure to watch russian reaction, the music has no borders!!! Just one thing, for the quality of sound, take headphones when your turn videos beacuse of the reverberation. Thank you from France.
Nice! Круто! They are my favourite band together with Jinjer. The guys from Jinjer really recommend them. The singer and the guitarist are married and they are the ones who started the band, Courtney Laplante and Mike Stringer, then their friend Bill Crook join them and he is a bass player. They have a cool drummer as well a young lad Zev Rose Please react to Blessed Be next time, Both bands just don't have a bad song Awesome reaction.
@@musicalroadd I really want to suggest a song by a band and I’m sure you guys gonna enjoy it. Should I join your Patreon? Or can I send you a PayPal, perhaps?
It is also impressive that Mike (guitarist) filmed this video on his phone, the head dresses, flowers and some of the other props were donated from the recent wedding of some friends, and Courtney’s makeup (for both of her characters) was done by bassist Bill’s wife Ashley, who is an excellent make up artist. 👏🏼
This band is so weird, but I LOVE them! They can make a track like this that's heavy and aggressive, and then they can make tracks that are just as heavy in other ways.... I've never watched the video for "Constance" and not cried a little bit. Look into them a bit more... they're REALLY good!
The vocalist is called Courtney, and she is the only one singing in this song, she is also the only person in the video - with the exception of the hands around her neck, which are from the make up artist, which is the wife of their bassist. Although I don't know who exactly posed under the black gown. You can watch her do a one take vocal performance of this song too. The visuals are inspired by various horror movies, like Ring and Midsommar (which resembles the flowery cult vibes of the video - you get it when you have watched that movie). The bands guitarist is also Courtney's husband, and they were both previous in a band called "Iwrestledabearonce". Spiritbox itself is actually a very new band, but they're very quickly exploding. Holy Roller is their heaviest song, and with that quite a bit different to their other stuff. I would check out the official videos for Blessed Be, Rule of Nines, and Constance. The latter is their "heaviest" song and a tribute to Courtney's grandmother, which died last year. She wanted Courtney to sing on her funeral, but she couldn't attend that because of the lockdowns, so this song is her way to deal with her grief. The song is also named after the grandmother of the video producer, which suffers from dementia. I'll paste a comment from his father which provides further context below. Blessed Be and Rule of Nines also have a one take vocal performance, if you want to watch those too. "Constance is my mom. Today - December 4th is her birthday - she is 88. She is the nurse in the photo. She is in a long term care home and I have not seen her since early March of this year due to COVID-19. Unfortunately the press release is incorrect. Courtney’s grandmother died in 2020 and she wrote the beautiful lyrics to honor her grandmother. Dylan’s grandmother is still living and has been suffering from dementia for several years. Dylan created the video imagery to honor his grandmother and her struggles at this time in her life. Mom goes by Connie to those that know her. Today her proper name of Constance is more meaningful. Dylan from Versa Films is my son. I am thankful to Courtney and Spiritbox for having the courage to tackle a subject like this. Courtney: I am sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I am touched by the comments from everyone that has been through this. As the son, I know how it affects me - everyday seeing your mother not remember you. Counting the times she remembers your name. As parents we don't always see or realize the impact these circumstance and this disease has on the grandchildren. Dylan, Courtney and all the comments show that the pain runs deep within the families. For me it is tough to watch this video. It is harder to live with or to have lived with this in real life. Words cannot begin to describe. Thank you to everyone for their comments as hard as they were to publicly display. It's amazing Dylan. It's amazing Courtney. It's amazing Spiritbox. Constance is proud. I am proud."
I can give you a full history of the band, it’s members, previous bands they were all in, and everything. They’ve been friends of mine since they each played in their first bands (10+ years for each of the three members, Mike being the longest at about 14 years as friends). The “flower crown” parts of the video are inspired by the horror movie Midsommar. Both Courtney (vocals) and her husband Mike (guitar) are huge horror fans, and most ofctheir videos depict that. Courtney has called themselves “art metal,” because they don’t really fit into one style of metal. Songs like this and Belcarra are very much straight up metal, but then you have songs like Blessed Be or Bleach Bath which are a different style, and then Trust Fall and Constance which are yet again different stylistically. The best thing to do is to work your way through their discography from the beginning up until now. No two songs are all that similar, with the exception of the three parts of The Mara Effect, which there is a live video of Mike, Bill and Courtney performing with a session drummer.
Great reaction girls! One more subscriber to the channel. Please react to the Brazilian metal band sepultura, mainly the old stuff from them. All love and good vibes from Brazil ❤️
Hey, you should definitely check out nightwish wacken 2013 live shows and Ayreon featuring Floor Jansen from nightwish as guest singers, awesome 😎Ayreon is a progressive and symphonic metal band from Finland, thanks 😊
This song is really good, but it's one of my least favorite of theirs haha. Check out their songs, Perennial, Electric Cross, Belcarra... Hell, all their songs are 🔥 actually. Edit: They have live studio videos you can watch and see she nails the vocals on.
Awesome reaction guys. Just found you two. Love from USA!!❤
The woman in the video is the vocalist. Usually their songs have clean vocals as well. Try "Rule Of Nines" or "Blessed Be" by them.
This is my first time hearing this band, but it sounds very cool !! Excellent response. Your emotions are funny😆👍
