Ghost Of The Blues. QRS 2691. J. Lawrence Cook. Year: June 1924 [RP]

This is one of the top most treasured rolls I own out of almost 800 rolls, and I treasure many of them. It is the only copy I've ever seen.
I acquired this roll by means of a trade from a new friend and someone I admire a lot. He was willing to share something he had with a complete stranger. The world would be nearly perfect if we all had his generosity. - Thank you.
I posted this song many months ago, but I wanted to post a new and better recording of it today.
J. Lawrence Cook was only 25 years old when he arranged this magnificent roll. From my count, it was one of his first 60 rolls. He would later go on to arrange nearly 20,000 rolls over 50 years!! No one else has even come close to that. It is believed his very first roll produced at QRS was "Dying with the Blues" in 1921.

J. Lawrence Cook was born this day, July 14 - 125 years ago - in 1899. Birthplace, Athens, Tennessee.
