Thank you for the clear instructions. I had to replace my switch and it only took a couple minutes after seeing how.
I was worried that I would run out of gas on my way home last week since the fuel door unlock button is on the same module, but luckily that button worked and I was able to fill the tank.

Hi. My DIM/climate zone is dark and highbeams wont stay on + when i lock the car my orange/hazard lights wont blink. You think this switch could be the problem too?

Just picked up a 2007 s60R. There is no illumination coming from behind the gauges. Would the cause possibly be the dimmer switch?

It's nice to hear you so calm when you're struggling as hell to get that flashright right while still trying to point and film the details in a very tight spot. Nice instructions. Don't you need to disconnect the battery before you replace that switch ?

Hi, no need to undo the battery for this switch unit, it is not part of the canbus network so it won't trigger the SRS message. Thanks for the kind words

@@Peppermint1 do you have any idea how to clear SRS airbag red logo on dash? We removed seats unplugged wiring reinstalled and the warning won’t get cleared away any idea?

    • @Peppermint1

@@suitealek Did the light come on after disconnecting the seats ? May look again closely at the seat connectors. This red light means there is a fault somewhere in the SRS system, which means one or more airbags will not deploy in a crash

@@Peppermint1 yes, after seats disconnected to install new fuel pump system.
Should we disconnect all wiring to seats again? Did I overlook a connection? Any insights welcome!

@@suitealek We must disconnect the battery 10 minutes before unplugging a seat connector - since the seat has a wire for the side airbag in the seat side bolster. Try to have a second look at those large connectors in front of the seat, I think I have videos for at least one type, depending of the year. Make sure the connection is 'closed' properly and that there are no pins that may have got bent. If all checks fine, you may want to have someone with Vida or a performant aftermarket code reader trying to clear the SRS code and light

Welcome. It is true filming is not always easy - working with a single hand, sometimes I wish I had someone to film all these videos while I work. Cheers

Not needed for this small repair. Only when removing parts such as the radio, climate control unit, instrument cluster or computer modules

@@nadaproblem806 could this unit result in me not being able to adjust my low beams electrically? they are stuck in a low position, even if i adjust the white screws on the headlights themselves

@@oskarjennische2490 this unit controls, high, low and fog functions as well as the dimmer. if your talking about adjustments directing the beams this has no effect. that should be strictly mechanical from the adjusting screws on the headlight unit itself.

do you how many lights are in that unit?

No, but usually the backlight on these units are tiny SMD leds which are usually not user replaceable

That may work, but notice the metal tabs can be stuck and difficult to release (the one in this video took some convincing).
