Hey Ralph, Thanks for the video man. I checked my Mantis for these caps & it has them on both sides, at both points front & back _BUT_ It is just hanging there, not even recessed in its position on the right side of the spring one, front AND back... Just shocking quality assurance there.
I have one of these and mine is ok. However these are not as self lubricating as they could be and massively benefit from an application of moly grease. Also advise silicone grease on the outside of the rubber insert and more moly paste at the ends of each spring and a general clean to get rid of loose paint. Ps, does your suspension bottom out and hit the mudguards? If so, cut the guard in half. No more strikes and you can run the suspension softer with more travel!
I also greased the whole thing when i reassembled it but I think i know why they didnt do it -> you could accidentally grease the screws on the sides and then they would easily get loose.
Very helpful vid, ralf. Pls. Make a video of how to remove that bent red metal thing that holds the wheel to the scooter. It's hard to remove. I just want to clean the parts underneath that spring. Thanks much.
Same problem on mine, i had the brake lights fail, and the back stem is wobbling. Please check your back motor axel bolts also, mine was loose, i mean i could move the wheel in and out of the brackets by 2 mm.
How'd you fix the loose motor axle? Was it missing washers or anything? How long ago did you purchase your mantis, I heard Kaabo has fixed a lot of issues since the first reviews.
@@harrys7557 Hello Harry, i have "fixed it kinda" by putting in 2 extra washer plates to fill out the moving gap, we are talking about a 2-3 mm movement but still enough to give it stabilization problems during high speed turning. I was probably one of the first ones in EU to buy it, i know in fact they have fixed alot by now. So yes the new ones should be much better at the small details...
The bolts and every screw should be checked anyway from time to time. On some Mantis and screws there is screw glue to fix the screws and on some there is none... 😕 But still screws WILL get loose and you have to check.
i don't understand which part you are saying. might be a good idea if you show it on camera since you disassemble the arm. we need to know what it looks like. i was thinking of the washer or the lock...???
Nice explaination! But tbh I do think this is terrible for something that costs around 1500 dollars. Sure it's not the absolute top of the line but it's still that high amount of money that you should expect great quality and build. Do Kaabo know of this issue?
Maybe my new video will give you some hints on how to solve your problem with the noisy steering stem. "Kaabo Mantis - causes and fix of stem wobble" (ua-cam.com/video/mZR9HzbSiSY/v-deo.html)
ralf halbknapp thanks!! It’s very helpful. I managed to set the stem, I also added some grease and secured the stem really tight. Now I need to get the polymer thing for the suspension to carry my 85kg weight properly :)
Hmm.. so it looks like the suspension doesn’t have standard mounting ? So I probably can’t install air shocks like I wanted .. maybe I’m wrong though? Let me know if you think you can install something like a fox or dnm rear air shock if u have time to investigate, thank you

thank you for uploading so many helpful videos on Mantis. I like my 2020 pro version (black) with minimotors display. One thing, after say 200km I made so far I've noticed the back wheel is not 100% centered. When I put the deck on a box, and dry run the back engine, I can see the wheel is not centered there is some little movement, and causes vibration.. also little noise from hydraulic disc brake i gues when they are warmed up and the disc lightly touches the break every 180 degrees of the wheel move. Any idea if I can center it somehow? Front one seems centered well, the scooter does not go into vibration when I put front one to max speed, back one, when I put the scooter on a chair or paper box, kind of vibrates a little. I recorded a little movie : drive.google.com/open?id=1tGt085xz1V2RKMgrGinAuKh69XR-3bUB
Hi Paul :) First thing to check is if your Motor and rim moves up and down or only the tire on the wheel. Most of the time the motor is ok but the tire is not perfectly centered. If this is the case you have to deflate the tire until it is very soft, try to align it better and inflate again a little and see if it is now better. If so inflate to the desired pressure. Brake disc is a different topic, most brake discs are bent somehow and there is a special tool to bend it back. You buy a brake disc alignment tool (Amazon or a bike store) and bend the disc so it is straight. Regarding vibration that may still be left after the wheel and tire spin in a nearly perfect circle you can use small adhesive weights used for tire balancing (1x 10g on the opposite of the valve should do the trick.
ralf halbknapp thanks I think I will ask the service to try to fix it based on your comment.. it’s not a big deal but rather unexpected on a scooter with 200km made on city bike paths, quite gently :)
I have a similar issue with my Kaabo Mantis Pro, The front rim is moving slightly up and down...I can see the Break Disc slightly moving up and down as my tire rotates, any suggestions on how to fix this ? Can post a video if needed, any help would be greatly appreciated...
Is this Scooter good for ~105kg person? I've seen Xiaomi scooters dealing with 125kg on rough terrain and this Mantis looks much more sturdy and is more powerful, so should be ok, right?
The frame has no problem supporting 105kg, it will be the suspension that will feel soft and bottom out from time to time. So you will find it comfortable but sometimes a bit less direct and unstable at high speeds or corners.
Would be nice to see a photo of the brass cap.
Thanks so much for taking the time to show this potential issue. My Mantis is due later this week and I will give it a preflight inspection.
how's the Mantis going?

@@redsai666 may i know what kind a washer is that? if u dont mind to share it ev0luti0n888@yahoo.com
Before you ride. You should always check the bolts
in English it’s called washers, which are used before you put a bolt on
I am talking about slide bearings with a flange, this is not a simple washer even if the flange part alone may look like it ;-)
