Its not the breather spout but rather the front coolant drain . There are two coolant drains on the 3mz engine . Thats the front one you are asking about, The other is in the rear of the engine. A 10mm wrench or socket is used to slacken the nut. Very useful when draining the coolant system. The transmission breather is a rubber hose with a spiral protective sleeve and comes up from the transmission near where the lower radiator hose connects to the thermostat inlet tube.
@@DIYLifeSkills Raw gasoline smell. I suspect it is fuel injector o-rings but I just can't get time to look at it because my life is in hordes-of-chaos right now-and has been for the past eight months.
I have already had this problem which was actually caused without my knowledge by a sufficiently clever buyer. The engine became defective, so he tried to lower the price by 50%. Of course, I didn't accept and found the problem the next day.
I knew the history of this car from the time when they bought this is and carmax was offering $1700, so I gave him $2,000. I thought about keeping it but decide to flip it for $4600 price since we don’t drive that much these days and we had 2 other car already.
Someone in Highlander forum thought it was engine coolant drain valve. I haven’t confirmed this though. I didn’t know engines had coolant drain, I only knew of drain outlet from radiator. So I need to check it out.
Their operation is pretty much like the radiator petcock. You don't have to remove them fully. Just loosen the 10mm bolt suffieciently for the coolant to flow out. A hose of maybe a 1/4 or 3/8 inch inner diameter ( forgot which ) will fit on the nipples. Dont forget to tighten when done with draining.

Makes sense. Thanks.

HEY!
My flooding condition problems started also when I did valve cover gaskets and spark plug tubes on my 1999 Toyota Solara 3.0 V6 1mz-fe!
What do you mean by flooding condition?

Thanks for the video dang pcv valve glad you got it fixed
Yeah, that was a lucky find. Thx

@@jocelynguenard8572 So you bought or not? That’s potentially easy fix if they discounted 50%
What was the option that got these wheels?

Limited trim
Oops, spoke too soon, I’m not sure what trim those wheels are from
@@jamespyle8348 Yeah I have a Limited. These must be some obscure dealer option that was only offered at a few dealers because they're extremely rare.
@@jamespyle8348 This was a pretty basic V6 trim with no special options.
Good video thank you man
That's the bank 2 engine coolant drain valve. There's another one above the front right wheel for bank 1.
I figured it had to be coolant drain because I smelled coolant.
That's engine block coolant drain cock.
Yup that makes sense.
That's a breather spout for the transmission i do believe... My 1nz fe engine has the same
