The point of Mighty Car Mods is not "bolt on exactly what I have or like what I like". It's just saying "personalize your car so that it makes you happy, here's what I did and how I did it". Are you saying you don't want him to be happy? I'm sure your comment didn't help any.

Since when was modding a Honda automatically rice? Especially it being the s2000, one of the best cars ever made by Honda. Even if you don't like what Moog is doing, as a car enthusiast, you should at least respect the fact that he modified the car to fit his own personality rather than leaving it stock. If you don't like what Moog is doing to his car, maybe you should get off your ass and do something with your car that is somehow "better" than what Moog is doing with his car, rather than complaining about HIS video on HIS UA-cam channel.

Hear hear!! Words of truth. Love the build so far can't wait to see the bumper all painted and finished, the wheels looks awesome and lowered it looks mean. Only quirk I had was the front tire fitment, backs are good but the front looks off size wise.

Honestly it sucks seeing Moog work on his s2000 without Marty or not getting as much help as Marty. Moog helped Marty with gramps ever since the project started and now when Moog needs help with his s2000 he doesn't want to ... Coming from the MCM forum and a youtube channel that preaches about equality on all builds and no descrimination between cars, you really see the irony.

Marty is right, a good sound system is a big thing and goes along way. This would be one of my first mods to any car. Enhances the experience of driving your car and chilling in your car.
I'm so confused someone please help me.. Moog just Removed Alpine Type-R series speakers and tweeters from the S2000, they are upwards of $200 USD for a pair and sound heaps better than the Pioneer speakers they just bought. Why on earth wouldn't they check to see if the existing speakers worked after a wiring adjustment? Mighty Car Mods

The next thing this car gets has to be a supercharger, it would be new and would compliment VTEC better than a turbo would.
And they are cheaper to acquire if we dont count with the parts required to mount them, but it requires less overall work and its easier to install.

Exactly, why not just install what was there nicely rather than fitting rubbish, maybe they were busted, didnt look it though. Also drilling and screwing straight into door metal is poor. Should have made an adapter. Mtx amp is probably better than the junk picked up from super cheap too.

you binned an MTX audio amp with Alpine Type Rs for a shit cheap JVC and pioneer speakers... are you insane?
Assuming you guys know. If you lower or raise any vehicle with rubber bushes you NEED to undo every rubber bushed pivoting point and re tighten them with the suspension slack taken up. ie when sitting static on the ground. Otherwise your bushes are going to flog out way prematurely.

Yeah I noticed that, they were installed poorly, but that was a legit Alpine stereo system.

S2K's are really fantastic platforms, you really can't screw one up, no matter what you do to it.. I haven't driven the AP2's, I know they bumped the displacement, but my only beef is that even in 1st WOT in the AP1 I feel like I can get a cup of java before redline hits. So much noise, so little accel, I think a civic is faster.
Though I guess Moog fixed that with spray, haha. Good 'ol nitrous, fixes everything.

William McCarthy Yeah, I noticed the big gap too, haha. I hope he doesn't boost it tbh. I mean it's obviously the most efficient way to pull power, but boosting a car on stock internals is common as dog shit...I mean that's not to say it's not awesome, and it's like the best bang for your buck, but I've just seen it so many times, even on the show we saw Marty with his.

Brutal. Everything was going good until you wrapped those rpf1s in shit tires and installed a fast and furious front bumper.....not sure if this is a joke or not
Kinforest KF550 tires are not that bad. They are probably the best you can get for what they cost. The front bumper, well... If it was not for that assymmetrical air scoop it would look good after painting. I'll wait for when it's finished to evaluate the final result ;)

Moog Marty I'm a huge mighty car mods fan from California I have a 00 mustang v6 manual I took off the muffler its extra weight not needed and now it sound like a v8 sport car. I've been looking online to see if that reduces my HP some say yes some say no I just want to know if I should put it back on for for a few more hp . thank you mates and Moog nice Honda, VTEC is popular here unlike cars like the blue turd or gramps but gramps is a beast.
Back in the day, like 2011, I had a 2001 S2000. I bought it with a scorched piston and it needed a engine rebuild. I ended up using a Honda K24 Crankshaft and stroked it to 2.4 L with K1 rods and Wiseco Pistons, which gave about 300hp at the flywheel, with stock ecu. It was a Blast, I also had a Vortech supercharger which was awesome but always gave me troubles with Belt alignment and properly went through 6-8 belts until I sorted everything out. You guys should turbo the S2000

Well you're right about one thing. Alpine is better than Sony, Pioneer or JVC when it comes to car audio.
CDN12Guns Oh, yeah for sure, im just saying I cant believe they're downgrading from the alpine to the pioneer. But my favorite is JL since everything other than my deck my whole system is JL! As for this video it would depend on how old the footage is, since alpine has recently discontinued the type X and "replaced" it with the type R, in canada anyway, so those might have been top of the line alpine speakers!
Adrian Clayton By the looks they were/are a good set of Type R's still. Didn't seen any issue apart from the wiring (getto the crimping and she be fine) and the location of the tweeters wasn't greater, but an easy 10-15minutes or so of doing some "ear" testing for the best spot would do the trick. (based on personal preference obviously).
I have a set of Alpine SPG 17CS and although not the best, but budget wise they work brilliantly. (no distortion thus far, running 2800W amp, although I don't drive them hard normally, just pointing out they are yet to distort for me when driven hard).
The guy that "lended his time" didn't seem knowledgeable on speakers, otherwise the Type R's would be there still.
Well actually Myles said later (on the vid's fb post) that all the components of the old sound system, amp and speakers, were blown, and he tried repairing them but it didn't work out.
TheGrig200 Good to hear they weren't replacing them for a worse set up then I suppose. However they should of went and got better Speakers than they did. Although super cheap don't have a lot in audio, to be honest.
you really should wear a breather mask when working with fiber glass, grinding it releases little glass particles which you dont exactly want coating your lungs

Most people here complaining about the front bumper and the tiny stretch of the tires and calling it "rice" probably don't even know the definition of 'rice.'
I don't understand why they hate on it when (at least in my opinion) the front bumper makes the car look more aggressive and powerful. The stock front bumper looked terrible like an 'issy wissy' car. Just because it's a Honda it does not mean that it's automatically 'rice.'
Here's an example, when you watch Fast and Furious, especially the earlier ones. You appreciate the looks of the cars, and even with them installing custom front bumpers that look insane, vinyl's, etc... you don't just go and hate on the producers or call it 'rice.'
Most of you people here hate on Honda because it's like a 'trend' since Honda's are associated with dumb, thirsty, teenage pricks who are irresponsible and make their Honda's look like junk.

I really hate watching car videos and just seeing the word ricer thrown about all the time when someone takes a car from standard. It's stupid to call someone an idiot for liking the colour blue when you like the colour green so why call someone a ricer based on an opinion about aesthetics. People having a unique taste is what makes the car scene so diverse and interesting.
If someone has a slow car then they put a huge exhaust on it and claim it'll beat ferraris, go old school and tell them to meet you at a drag strip or a track or an abandoned airfield and put them in their place. The only way you can talk crap about someone else's car is if you're funding it out of your pocket, otherwise let people spend their money on anything they want as long as it doesn't endanger an innocent member of the public.

the s2000 is a will built car. great handling car. i have been tracking my car for 9 years and the only thing i had to replace was the clutch. i love it.

Everyone shouts JDM but the truth is in Japan the car scene is crazy and they do whatever the fuck they want without caring what some kids who don't even drive will say about it.

Honda people are ruining the car community, because 80% of the owners are 20 years or younger that think vtec is the greatest thing ever invented that they have to put stickers all over there car so it looks like a "race car" I'm sure a s2000 with an intake exhaust and a 75shot won't be needing aero changes of how fast it going to go. It barley runs high 13 seconds. And I don't hate imports, I hate ricers like moog, all of Marty's cars have been awesome! Like the blue turd, his Subaru wagon, his turbo mx5, and the best one the flat 6 turboed swapped gramps!

Can't say that's the cleanest of bumpers to choose from, with the chicken wire and all the different holes and such.
Really excited to see the S2000 finally getting some work done to it! Only thing i would have done differently is probably kept the alpine instead of the pioneer. I don't think it was said if the alpine speakers were bad or not though.

Wow why is everyone bitching about the tires being stretched? ok maybe they are stretched a little bit but that's not ricey, ricey would be if you stretched them too far...
People saying this stuff are just fakers, they've heard stretching is bad on a facebook post and then they go "OMG STRETCHING RICE RICE!!!" when they see cars with the tiniest of stretch of the tires...
I love that amount of stretch - any more would be stance and would just look stupid IMO.
Adam Hansen same opinion here, having slightly stretched tires supposedly stiffens up the tire giving the kind of effect you would normally get from lower profile tires ie effectively a stiffer ride so the tires can handle changes in load a bit better. People just love to take the piss out of things so much they start hating on perfectly good cars just because "lulz rice bruh"
Front tires are probably 215/45 tires, which are stock specs. This stretch is acceptable and not rice imo, but I would have put a 245/40 tire on there, because it is a 9J wide wheel. 245/40 all round also makes an S2000 corner heaps better. But hey it is Moog's car and this is still good.
Trevor Felt still, the point is its stupid going crazy at someone over a tiny bit of tire stretch, even if it is as you say because of not being able to afford exactly matching tires that is a lot better than being a ricer...

Ray DM it probably will look good with those rpf1s and ride height it will give a track car look. I don't see what's the problem with changing a bumper?
icubabe Nothing wrong with changing a bumper. A rear GT wing will balance the appearance imo.

Glad you are finally working on this.....as a Honda fanboy myself I look forward to what is coming although not sold on the tacky front bar......stock OEM body with the JDM lips is whats up....good choice in wheels though!!!
