    I really appreciate your unique approach for coaching beach vball, and emphasizing techniques for undersized players (like so many of us))))) Great stuff! I am waiting for every new video!

    It would be great to see some slow-mo videos of people hitting like this. Is that possible in a future video? Thanks!

    Notice his hip opening as the elbow starts to fold - This brings your core power into the attack instead of all arm. if you swing both arms up high together , there is little core engagement

      Agree 100%... but most coaches teach getting both arms up high quickly. 🤷🤷🤷

    The fact is, I have tried this technique, and it works well. I could control the ball better and put the ball to wherever I want. Thank you very much Coach. 🙏

      @@menehunebvb Excellent explanation, it is one of the only UA-cam channels that explains different techniques to maximize the game of those players who do not have "good" or "elite" conditions to play. The truth is that everything is very didactic, especially in what "recreational" volleyball is, everything you explain fits very well and you explain it very clearly. I try to teach it within our group of "veterans" between 45 - 50 years old to avoid using techniques that do not fit our conditions. Greetings from Uruguay

      @pabloa.89 thanks for translating! Im glad my videos are helpful! Im going to soon post some drills/exercises to help get one's body acustom to the movements required to have a low to high more circular attack. Im sure your veterans will find these to be helpful. By the way... i have been to Monte Video... great place with great people! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

      I really want to see that video, I currently live in Montevideo, the downside is that it is a little cold in winter to play beach volleyball on the beach, but luckily we can do it on closed beach courts. Did you come for work? or just on vacation?

    Could you talk about to look before the hit? 🙏🏻

  • @vballinhb
    @vballinhb 8 місяців тому +2

    I think it would be interesting to use a stopwatch and show how much time it takes to get from takeoff to max vert for different jump heights, and then pair that with the time it takes to do different arm swings. So that if we know how high we can jump, we know what our arm swing potentially should look like if we want to hit at max height

    • @menehunebvb
      @menehunebvb  8 місяців тому +1

      I agree. This would be very interesting. But different people would take different amounts of time to do the same arm swing, so even with that kind of info, you would need to experiment until you find what works in my opinion. 👍🏼

    • @vballinhb
      @vballinhb 8 місяців тому +2

      One would think. But once you get to the intermediate and up level, the differences might not be that large, and the difference might come mostly from the jump. I think it would be an interesting question to explore. Imagine if it were true - you could look at someone's jumping ability and tell them how long of an arm drawback/swing they can use

    • @LearnBeachVolleyballFast
      @LearnBeachVolleyballFast 8 місяців тому +2

      It seems to me like all armswings can be made just as quickly, as long as the player knows how to do the armswing. Many will have a very slow low elbow or cicular armswing at first if they try though.

    • @menehunebvb
      @menehunebvb  8 місяців тому +1

      @LearnBeachVolleyballFast Alex most players don't have the knowledge or coordination needed to make their arm swing way faster 🤯🤯 i agree that high level players can do it with any armswing. 👍🏼

    Hi! Thank you for different point of view on volleyball. How to switch technique from "Nike swish/BowAndArrow" to "lowdrawback/circullar swish"? I had injured my right shoulder and want to switch technique.

  • @bballinbasics

    VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: so if someone wasn’t undersized, would u say that circular arm swing can generate more power than bow and arrow?

    • @menehunebvb
      @menehunebvb  7 місяців тому

      Ive never been tall so i cant really offer any feedback on this question, but i would think so because there is a bigger arc from which to generate the power. This is probably why all the best indoor jump servers seem to use a circular arm motion.

    • @bballinbasics
      @bballinbasics 7 місяців тому

      @@menehunebvb I'm new to volleyball so apologies! But what is the trend for pro players using circular arm swings? is it becoming more common, or already common in certain countries (like Japan) more? thanks!

    great video! do you think jumping with bent elbow will decrease my vertical?

    • @menehunebvb
      @menehunebvb  2 місяці тому

      @giladw it might, but ive found that getting into the right position outweighs losing a little vertical. In other words, it's more valuable to get into the right position to hit with max overspin than it is to jump your highest.

  • @bigbadwanger
    @bigbadwanger 8 місяців тому

    Question about the elbow/hand @full drawback , golden arm position. While cocked is the hand at upward finger pointing up posture or should the hand/wrist be more flexed maybe @30 degrees.
    The reason I ask bc upon impact of the ball and imparting top spin, the hand straight finger upward seems more rigid and can lead to more popping of hit, whereas the hand/wrist slight more forward and loose seems to allow easier cupping and rolling the ball at impact since the hand is already rounded/molded .
    Both hand position facing up but one is more perpendicular straight vs other the finger is more slightly curled cupped wrist slightly bent forward - I've gotten some mishits when using golden arm hand straight as at impact sometimes my hand is still too rigid and it pops the ball vs rolling around it

    • @menehunebvb
      @menehunebvb  8 місяців тому +1

      At impact you definitely want/need your fingers leading and the hand more cupped. You can keep this cupped hand position at the end of the drawback if you want. I agree that you don't want a flat hand at impact. Lmk if this answers your question. 👍🏼

    • @menehunebvb
      @menehunebvb  8 місяців тому +1

      I also agree that in order to wrap properly over the ball, your hand cant be stiff and rigid at impact. I want the hand in a "claw" position with fingers slightly curled forward.

      @@menehunebvb Thanks as always.
      Regarding increasing hitting power and more specifically mind muscle connection.
      Are there other upper body areas for me to mentally think about or initiate with to increase spiking power. It is difficult for me to mentally connect spiking power with using my legs/shotput as power source (as you mentioned).

    • @menehunebvb
      @menehunebvb  8 місяців тому +1

      @bigbadwanger think about an explosive shoulder press movement. 👍🏼

    • @bigbadwanger
      @bigbadwanger 7 місяців тому +1

      @@menehunebvb To confirm, think explosive shoulder press => so sudden raise of dbs/bb which would then emphasize low to high contact + increased arm speed of low/high?
