As an amateur collector of East West Musical Instruments jackets and pants this post especially appealed to me. Although I am not a musician myself, there's just something about the infectious magical power of a leather jacket. I am most definitely a fan of rock 'n' roll, leather, and denim.... and a bit of a rebel from time to time.

Interesting, thanks for your insights, especially regarding adoption of the black leather jacket in the era of hippies. I can only think of Jim Morrison who wore a black leather jackets before and at the beginning of the seventies, maybe Jimi Page in 68-69, but he wasn't that famous then yet.

The black leather jacket really didn't get adopted into the music scene until music kind of turn dark you've got the rise of early Punk that's where you see the iconic black leather rip Rebel jacket but it definitely got adopted into the motorcycle culture. Rock and roll was hippie first!
