Actually Monsters Inc on the PS2 was rushed because the studio who made it shut down before the movie's release and the devs had to finish it at home and a lot of content (including playing as Mike) was left out

My personal favorite will always be the original Cars: The Video Game. I have so much nostalgia for it, and I also want to highlight how cool it is that pretty much the entire cast reprised their roles from the movies for this game. To me, this game’s plot and cutscenes are the true Cars 2.

I’ve got a strange nostalgia for the Monsters Inc game (I’ve never played it) mainly because there was an ad for It on my old Toy Story 2 VHS, that made me wanna play that game so BAD!

I love how he doesn't even explain why the visuals are glitching for the toy story 3 game, I feel like it's emulated unless that's how the game actually is
The Cars 2 video game on the Wii was one of my favourite games as a kid, and looking back I can say it’s a solid tie-in racing game with a lot to offer. Say what you will about the film (I personally love it), but the game is pretty good.
WALL-E is unironically one of my favorite movies to look at games of. Flash games on the old website, the handheld stuff like the puzzle platformer for DS, and of course these console versions that are surprisingly pretty good. Nice to see people are covering stuff like this now.
My personal favourites from my childhood were Wall-E (PS2), Toy Story 3 (Wii) and Ratatouille (PS2). If you enjoyed Wall-E I recommend you try Ratatouille because it has a fun story to play through with plenty of side content/mini games and the controls are 👌
One difference in the story of the WALL-E games vs the movie is that EVE gets zapped by AUTO and WALL-E fixes her shortly after. But in the movie, WALL-E is zapped by AUTO and EVE can't fix him until the Axiom returns to Earth.
Yup. This is because the original cut of the movie had Wall-E fixing EVE, but it was changed last second. You can find the original scene online, they had it animated and everything.
@@JackamoJones They did show the original Garbage Airlock scene, but they haven't shown the scene where AUTO shocks EVE for some reason. I would love to see that scene someday.
Having parts of the movie instead of cutscenes was actually common. In disney games especially before the levels those were the cutscenes. I would assume was to cut costs
You forgot to mention the awesome split screen multiplayer on Wall-E. I don’t remember it much since it’s been a while but I vaguely remember you can play tdm on the Axiom and other maps with 2 Wall-Es holding Eves arm as their gun. It was a blast to play.

Interesting seeing this video pop up! About a month ago, I decided I'd replay "Monsters Inc: Scare Island" for the PS1. Hadn't played it since I was a kid, and I remembered it being incredibly fun. Nope! VERY VERY tedious gameplay lmao. One that still holds up, though? "Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters" man! Its a light collectathon in the style of like, Mario 64. You've got the center hub world with a bunch of themed levels extending from it. Genuinely surprising quality for a licensed game of the early 2000s.
On the note of using movie clips for cutscenes, old tie-in games used to do that all the time. I remember Chicken Little and Matrix, Path of Neo both doing this a lot.
I just went through a traumatic experience with SecuROM when I tried to back up my Wall-E for PC disk into an ISO image, and then this video pops up, and the first topic is the WALL-E Video Game. The universe can be a cruel, cruel mistress.

But I call them movie based games (Games based on the movies but aren’t really made to tie in into the movies). I swear, ever since video game companies decided to focus more on their money daddy simulators and 3rd person shooters full of microtransactions, Movie Tie-In Games are just dead.
I think a large part of it is that games are more expensive to make now. Games are held to a higher standard than they once were, and at some point it isn't worth it for movie studios such as Disney to put out these games. Unfortunate, as I love them.
This video was a trip back memory lane. 🥹 I remember how I used to play many Disney and Pixar games on the PS2, my favorites were Wall-E, Ratatouille and Tarzan Freeride, and even if they're not the same company I also loved Ice Age 2, 3 and The Bee Movie, of which you even used music from at 6:59! After I found out they ported the PS2 version of Wall-E to Steam a while ago I instantly went on, buying and finishing the game that gave me so many memories back then. Still have to start Cars and finish Bolt from my library though. 😅
Fun fact: Toy Story 3 actually is one of the reasons Disney Infinity exists. Disney Infinity uses the same engine as Toy Story 3, even on 3.0, and its evident by some characters having the same moves as the characters from that game, along with leftover files such as dialog images from Toy Story 3. They even ported over that TNT thingy as a placeable toy.
Surprisingly, there's a lot of small differences between the Wii and Xbox 360 version, due to the Wii being underpowered. I owned both the Xbox and Wii versions and never noticed these differences.
