We need more Edd China and he needs to be back on our screens
He did all the work really made the show. To me Mike ruined it. Then stabbed in back for a random mechanic. Edd you rule
One tool that the camera guy should use, a microfiber cloth
I tried cleaning my screen first haha.
My screen is so dirty I didn't notice
First tool $30k
If you're suggesting that for the lens, NO!!!!
*THANK YOU!!* I just spent 2 minutes with lense cleaner & a microfibre cloth & NOTHING. I thought it was just me that noticed it.
Imagine a tool showing event.. Ed and May come with a vast array of tools and Clarkson shows up with a Hammer.. :D
And Richard Hammond merely stands next to them, falls over and bursts into flames!😂
A lighter maybe
Yes please

It's all fun and games 'till you bring Guy Martin into the picture. ''I have ten 30 mil spanners mate'' sorta thing.
Edd China, James May and Guy Martin need a show. Someone make it happen.
Edd really knows his stuff and Guy is real enthusiast. I think they would lock May in a cupboard, then go off to do their own separate projects.
Leave James may out of it.
Cut Captain Slow out, Martin & China would make a brilliant team.
I can see it now...Edd, James & Guy's Need for Greasy Reassembling... :D
The hair person on that show would have there work cut out💇🤔
Looks good Ed. Love your videos.Keep the great shows up always looking forward to them.
It's always great to hear from Edd.
Would love to see Edd and Fuzz do a restoration of an old bus or something big, maybe for a charity or just to sell on or whatever. Would be great seeing 2 very likeable characters tackle something on a big scale.
I've been looking for 5 Shaftesbury Avenue for ages. Now I now why I could not find it; its on your wall!!
This many years and he still gets so excited talking about his tools! It's true what they say, men don't grow up their toys just get more expensive lol
I do agree about the waterjet cutter. Bit expensive but so great.
I got access to one at school and its is use about 80% of the time by a whole host of people cutting all kinds of things. From thin sheet metal to 5cm thick aluminium and even garden tiles
I'm glad they let you keep the Shaftesbury Avenue road sign!
"Top Man" really enjoyed watching you on Wheeler Dealers, so talented.
Great Video! Love the content! Now we just need a double video with James May
many thanks Edd China learned a lot from you🤗😘🥰😍
Edd we really need to see more of you mate !
I just finished reading your book Edd. I really enjoyed it. It makes Wheeler Dealers seem like a short interlude before allowing you to continue following your creativity. Give it a few years and WD will be just a distant memory. All the best - Tony Hillyard
Just love Edd.... Miss him on TV.
I love that you've invited Edd Chine to Drivetribe.
I bloody love Edd China!!!
He’s like a world of car knowledge. Was gutted he wasn’t at Fully Charged Live this year. Briefly spoke with him at last years event.
Thanks Edd for being a teacher for all of us. It’s hard to keep people’s attention and you do it naturally. Many of us know as much as you do but it’s always nice to get a passionate persons spin on different things.
You may not have realised it but you have touched on what your next project show will be and that is building new vehicles like electric or hydraulic or what ever propulsion method you can think of. Also solar wind powered homes, buildings etc. “A tech living show”. I think the car thing has been done every which way now so time to leave that behind in your history.
Yes, Edd, I bought the book (& enjoyed it).
a full one hour of edd stripping down an engine, im sold
Edd was the reason I watched the other show he was on.
Yeah, Mike was a useless dealer and proper cringey "Ed's put in 90 hours work on on this car in the big expensive workshop, we've made a whopping profit of £300"
I hope edd makes a video of his , and his favourite early 1900’s cars and engines
名車再生!他の人になってから寂しかった~エドさん大好き💕
Bugger, now I need to buy a 3D scanner. Awesome bit of kit.
Glad to see you’ve still got the Shaftsbury Avenue sign edd!
Another use for those rubber gloves i found was when i had a Renault alliance that didn’t like wet weather. Moisture always got into the distributor and made driving an adventure. With zero money i ended up cutting the finger tips off of one rubber glove and had coil and spark plug wires coming through the finger holes. A piece of wire held the wrist part tight around the distributor shaft. No more problems.
Edd could narrate a documentary on grass growing, and I still could watch it.
Edd and James May should do a mini-series together!
Great geeky video Edd !! :)
Love seeing Edd on Camera again.
Welding magnets for the very corroded but epic Amphicar. :D
My favourite thing Edd did was the WD logo on the ratrod F150's side window. The way he got the rust on the glass to form the WD logo... Genius! 👌
Edd China, Mat watson, Jeremy clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond should make a show together. My favourite presenters.
Brilliant Edd ..... So good you are embracing the EV future .... people listen to you as you know what you are talking about.. thanks
new drinking game. when edd says groovy we all need to drink 😂😂
@Normandie Frankia 😂😂
Hi Ed - really great to see you back.
Our legendary Australian " Barra " I6 would get you a lot of views if you did an NA to turbo conversion or even a repower for another car such as a nissan patrol y61. These Australian engines are even getting a lot of respect in the USA because factory bottom end and heads can be cheaply modified to give massive HP and torque. Worth a look any way!
Got the book and the gloves already 😎
Didn't know you had a book out. I received an Amazon gift card for my birthday, and plan on getting your book. Hope you don't mind me getting it from Amazon instead of your website. Cheers, and can't wait till you have another show on. You and any of the Grand Tour blokes would make for must watch TV, or just you alone!!!
Solid works baby... where my other engineers at?
Right here! Prefer Inventor though
JustA Norwegian Hep I do aswell. I don't get why so many people like solid works more . Whenever I design something in SW I eventually get to the point where the whole assembly starts to refuse making additional joints or even changes my older joints. Inventor just works better for me I guess.
Im a weirdo and use PTC creo.
Francisco Juan - we use aecosim
Solid works mating gang hmu
When they say that the perfect man does not exist i just think of Edd China.
Edd you are the best :)
Mine is my Leatherman Surge. It's part of my EDC.
My favourite TOOL is you, Mike brewers doing well
Not a bad selection,little high five to myself for having all them amongst the vast selection in my workshop. I would add a few of my own and in no particular order;
Fluke digital multimeter and comprehensive lead set, absolutely essential!
Sharpie marker pens, always have one to hand
Double ended screwdriver, lives in my overalls top pocket
Strong small magnets, used for so many jobs
Cordless soldering iron/ heat gun,my best friend.
The sharpie, literally one of the most useful things to live in an overall pocket! 😊
Edd is such a likeable fellow.
A shopping trolley on Yokohama A539s 😂
Even that’ll understeer in the wet! In many ways similar to a Polo G40 😄
The book is a great read. It's written in the first person and he tells the tale of the 'Casual Lofa' and more.
The (laser / Water jet) combo cutters are mind blowing
Het just learning solid works!!
There was clearly one tool he could live without!
This guy gets it 😆
Fully aware nobody asked but I’m throwing in my 2p’s worth anyhow.
1: surgeons forceps. Cheap to buy. Grip small things more securely than fingers (that’s what my misses says anyway). Fit anywhere. Just buy some. They will change your tinkering life.
2:Deep sockets over regular. Then you can get hold of them better for spinning things in or out with your fingers.
3: As many torches / lamps as possible. You can never have too much light on a job.
4: the finest toothed flex head ratchet in each size you can find. Access gets worse by the day it seems.
5: endoscope. It should be classed as cheating, it makes things that would take hours to get to visible in seconds.
You’re welcome..........
Good points sir. Pound through screwdrivers are also great for crusty old things. I bought some “aviation spanners” which are great. Really long ring ended spanner’s with no angle on the ends basically. Gives you the option to get your hands out of awkward spaces where spanner rash may occur.
i always knew ed loved a clean end
Make Edd China a weekly occurrence! Pls :-)
0:06 Done, it actually arrives tomorrow ;D
Solidworks man!
2:47 that spot on your right cheek had me checking to see if I had muck on my computer screen, but it turns out to be muck on your camera lens.
One of my favorite VW guys!
But the absolute most important of all, is the Nowegian moose-sign. 😂
My guess is the cutter is called The Bobbitt....just a hunch 😭
I know Steve Coogan is a big fan of Edd. I would love to see them 2 in tv show.
Brewer was one tool Edd didn't need.
This video was super groovey.
That 3d scanner actually seems really useful. I've got a question though, considering versions of it can scan an entire car does that mean it may be possible to use a basic version to scan say a bumper for a car so you can 3d print a replacement?
mine would be : mole grips, pneumatic finger sander & ratchet spanners.
Edd and May should do a video together
Who has the best hair?
Theresa May is looking for a new job...fingers crossed?!
Edd China is a very knowledgeable guy. James May knows some stuff, but is no expert (although compared to the other two, he's a genius).
Roy Cousins because edd is actually a real Mechanic and May is a glorified groupie. Big fan of both
Edd, Please upload to your personal UA-cam channel. We'd love to see regular content from you, even if it's just you tinkering in your garage. You have a massive fanbase and it'd be awesome to watch some of the things you get up to in your own time.
Edd should join the Drivetribe team full time!
I met Ed at a motor show ,,he took the time to say hello even though he was in a crowd ,,a down to earth man ,,big fan of wheeler dealers ...don’t watch them now with no Ed ...I never really liked mike that much it’s was always about Ed ....so thanks Ed for taking the time to say hello you got a fan for Life ,,,,brewers loss believe me
Embracing the electric future, well done Edd.
Ed! I dosed off half way through. But you “Tom, Dick and Harry” are legendary. Keep up the good work. (F-bbc)
Wow, I'd completely forgotten about Wheeler Dealers.
I love Edd.
😂 The captions say “I Made China”
Edd, can you tell us anything about that amazing-looking vise that you've got on your workbench? I've seen a bunch of vises, but never one like that. I tried to read the side where it looks like there are some letters, but I wasn't able to read them.
Your a genius edd
I love The Micky Mouse gloves 😂😂🤣🤣
10&13mm spaners essential tools
You forgot the windy gun that you style your hair with!..LOL!.
Top book
I saw the Electric Icecream van in the London Classic Car Show earlier this year (I think I included it on my video of the event). Is there a story behind it?
No lie about the 13mm wrench & sockets. I discovered that when I worked on a VW I had. What's with that size often not coming in sets?
Not coming in sets? Ever set in the known universe has a 13mm socket/spanner! At least in the UK universe...
I bought a socket set "metric and imperial" from Halfords(car shop in the UK) in about 1982, I've still got it complete and it has been used hundreds of times, I always make sure every socket goes back in its slot, definitely my favorite tool, the only thing that has broken is one of the plastic latches on the carry case, respect to you Halfords ;)
I have a metric adjustable spanner all I need now is the imperial one
@@bryanlatimer-davies1222 hahahah funny :)
@@bryanlatimer-davies1222 show me how you change a spark plug with it ;)
@@derek-press you mean they have to be changed ? I thought they lasted the life of the engine like the oil and filter !
@@bryanlatimer-davies1222 no I mean I was good enough to still have them all lol
That useless tool MB is no longer taking up valuable space! 😂
I love seeing what Edd uses to get a good clean end!
6:06. He doesn't like a bit of slag though!
Who else tried to clean the dust smudge right in the middle their monitor for the first 7 odd minutes of this video? My OCD went off the scale. First rule of photography/videography ... clean the lens ... LOL. Anywho, nice selection of gadgets you use there Edd 👍
When Edd started talking about the doctors and rubber gloves - I thought it was going to be a prostate exam.
More Ed please
The best tool is Edd China.
A kettle is a tool if it's in the workshop. I bet you have one for your tea?
How about that 36 MM impact socket for the VW axle nuts and generator fan???😄😄
Edd's hair dye ? I'll buy it!
Do not underestimate what Ed said about electricity. These cars are DC and currents above 30mA have an effect on the body. You short a battery cell and for sure you'll know about it.
2:24 it's actually the amps that kills you! Alot of people seem to get this wrong and just want to correct that.
Still a great video.
Stay safe people.
You need both volts and amps to kill
Considering you can't have one without the other, your correction is pointless.
@@Coxy002605 in welding you have massive Amps but only about 12 v, Where as a taser or electric fence for example gives you thousands of volts but mAmps,
Edd correct about 60V and above is required but also above about 50 mA hence power tools are 50,0,50 volts and Rcd's trip at about 30mA.
And on a conventional car where the electrical supply is capable of delivering hundreds of amps but only at 14volts you cannot get electrocuted,
But in a hybrid there is a 3 phase 200v generator it's quite possible to get fatal shock,
@@dogwalker666 yhea, ofc, but i'ts always better to check amps aswell as the volts when measuring, not just the volts and think "it's only 60 volts, no wories".
45 amps dc could still be leathal whit the "right" amps.
@@dogwalker666I was replying to Anders, sorry if that wasn't clear.
Odyssey! Best batteries ever.
I need a man like Ed..
Edd ... the whole video was ELECTRIFYING and not just the CTEC !!!!!
Edd, I’ve worked on electronic systems for over 30 years. The cardinal rule about electrical safety is to use 1 hand on the tool and do not grab a ground (earth) surface to complete a circuit or you will create a path from hand to hand across your heart. Also, the voltage is not what kills you, it’s the current. It only takes 0.1 amp of current to stop your heart.
Thank you for demonstrating your electrically safe tools. They do make a difference in safety.
5:15 i would without hesitation buy that and just mount it on my wall as art lol
One tool that's missing , that Edd really doesn't need ......................Mike Brewer !
Shaftsbury avenue sign spotted 👀
look at that vice, what a monster! Wonder what the brand it is?
