Whilst I'm not a fan of the rig (I prefer Junk Rig myself), that's a simple, solid and well thought out setup. Well done! I remember being impressed with the simplicity of jiffy reefing back when I first learned to sail on a friend's Hartley TS16.. nice to see it again here.
Incredible - Perfect timing for me as I start back on my Contessa 26' refit.- Kyntire is really looking great!! Thank you so much for taking the time to publish.
Yes, thanks for posting! I just subscribed to both of you (in case Ronald starts to upload videos as well). Last year we bought a contessa 26. It is my first sailboat and I want to take better care of her (she is in need of a facelift but has very good bones). Your videos are inspiring! Thanks
Nothing beats a new suit of sails and they look great. Same jiffy reefing on my 26 but with a blue line for the first and red for the second reef for easier ID in fast moving situations
Congratulations Ron with an (almost) finished project , I am in awe about the quality of your workmanship and your patience and tenacity to complete the job. In the mean time I learned a lot. I am in the process of buying an Contessa 26 but she is not near in such a new state as is yours.
I love the videos. I've watched them all. I've had an interest in the Contessa 26 for quite a while, for all the reasons you've outlined. I've never owned a sailboat but I'm ready now - I think. Can you give an overall cost of materials so far? I love the modifications you've made. I'd feel quite confident taking her on an extended trip. Great work.
Thanks for the positive feedback! I haven’t honestly kept track of expenditures, and a lot of materials I had on hand from other boats and projects. If I had to guess, I’d say I’d spent maybe 5-6 thousand on refit costs over the last four years.
@@EpoxyAndButylTape Thanks. It helps to have a figure to start with. I was going to allow a $10K budget for material when I find the right boat. Still looking. Thanks again.
Very happy. For the quality and features on the sails compared to the price, it was an excellent deal. They did make a few minor errors, but nothing that would keep me from using them again.
The boat looks great, thanks for sharing
Be safe and good sailing 🌞⛵
We enjoyed all of your videos. They helped us a lot, and still do, with our boat project. Thanks and happy sailing.
Love all the detail in these videos. Thanks for posting!

Thanks Ron. Glad to hear you’re back to refitting your CO26.

Thanks, I bought her as a stripped out project boat and she has come a long way. My name’s not Ron btw.
@@EpoxyAndButylTape thanks sorry for the error of your name
@@rob56gru no worries.
In the U.K. we usually tie the reefing pennants round the boom with a bowline rather than putting all the strain on an eye only just thought.

Hello , how happy are you with the sailmaker?
Thanks
