@@AceeSoul don't get me wrong, I'm sure a refresh would bring a ton of newer tech to the table, some features I do wish I had, but not deal breakers for me. It would be interesting to see a second version of the Studio and what all it could be, but as for now I'm good with my Studio Gen 1.
NI has done AMAZING things with the introduction of clips, growing patterns, etc etc - really bringing it to a fully capable idea catching DAW for creators. I have a Maschine MK3 and KK s series mk2. When the time comes I will get the newer hardware to support and be part of the evolution of the NI ecosystem

Hopefully all of the expansions and play series get better UI scaling and the ability to stem out a sample like Studio One 7 has that way we don't have to rely on Serato anymore
Mk1 and mk2 are 10-15yrs old. You did good to get support that long. If they didnt add realtime timestretch to the sampler i got a mk3 for sale. Its just ridiculous at this point.
For those considering upgrading from Maschine models that won't support version 3.0, it would be helpful if Native Instruments could clarify whether they plan to release a MK4 in the near future. I’m open to upgrading from my Maschine MK2, but I’d prefer to avoid buying the MK3 now only to find out a MK4 is about to be released.

i've used Maschine software since the first version (Yup). Just imagine if after digital tablets came out, and artists started using them to do their artwork, someone decided "we need to cancel out paint brushes".. and after VSTs "cancel and remove guitars, and pianos".. they did not cancel drum kits after drum machines and samplers came out.. BUT live drummers felt the heat. There was a fat elephant in the room called COMPETITION. and real drummers were not as needed as before. When NI canceled out usage of 32 BIt stuff, its like they snatched paint brushes out my paint studio, and was dictating what colors i could use.. they've done this sh!t before.. like Apple, it's done to help sales.. or REsales.. to get us to REbuy things we already have (in some supposed new and improved form).. we don't get to keep using our favorite creative ingredients.. What if the creative dictators were like trump controlling what a woman can do with her body.. and they went around snatching up turn tables, and vintage guitars.. saying stick to the NEW.. and MPC addicts had their old MPCs wrestled away from them.. because these manufacturers needed to sell new versions of what WE ALREADY HAVE.. you feel me.. would eliminating our choice be acceptable??? it's sales driven. NI puts out an upgrade of their software, that needs to be PAID for and then SURPRISE, other things start getting canceled out 😂🤣 "Pimping ain't easy" but they keep doing it.. it's sales driven. if they just put out their product and STILL left us with a choice, i would believe differently.. but i have a closet full of old fazed out gear.. the Mk1, Mk2 and Mikkro 1 are in that closet.. I made music with FL years ago, then I came back to music production in 2023 with Maschine, I find it very agile and fun, made a lot of tracks, I am pretty satisfied with the social recognition they received too. It's known that Maschine "haven't received" updates in 13 years, which is untrue, especially watching this video.
Either NI is coming out with a monster unit or they’re about to go fishing. It’s tied series game 7 for them. Nothing less than a maschine studio level piece will do. (Fanfare wise) Anything less than the latest mk 3 and it’s up. Try a “Ableton Move” type move, or some intermediate “till we get our thing together” release and i don’t know how they come back from that. The new “Maschine studio” or something fantastic is all I’m trying to hear. Corporations never get it.
Yep, when it drops we can watch vids and determine whether or not to upgrade. I really like 2 as shown in this video. They really had lots of great updates throughout the years which made it totally worth the upgrade
Ni need to keep in mind a sizeable group of users arn't bothered about an expanded set of features on MK3 software as use it purely as VST within another DAW. Thus take advantage of the sampling, effects processing and pad distribution options within the software only. So the critical part is whether new expansions released next year will still work in some software going forwards that doesn't require always worrying about the age of controller you are using to just trigger them. If the aim is to force everyone over time to upgrade their conrtollers just to play the sounds, then seeing we all have a mass of expansions anyway, plus other options, that might be the time to call it a day and stick with what you have. Seeing this discontinuation idea will keep slowly rolling.

Glad you like the MPC. 👍 I have tried both and can tell you Maschine is much more powerful (particularly because of its plugin selection) while the MPC IS faster for editing sequences. You may end up missing your Maschine after a while... But it depends on how extensively you build your tracks. I have a Maschine+. It's also standalone and runs FM8, Massive, Reaktor and Kontakt patches without a computer 😎

In fact, you know that there are plugins that for more qualitative sampling inevitably have a slight but annoying delay which in other DAWs can be corrected by aligning the tracks perfectly. No it wont be. From the NI website: 'We want to let you know that Native Instruments will soon be ending software support for Maschine MK1, Maschine MK2, Maschine Mikro MK1, and Maschine Mikro MK2. (Maschine Jam, Studio, Mikro MK3, MK3 and Plus are still supported). As is often the case with older hardware, we are at a stage with these Maschine products where we can no longer guarantee repairs due to a lack of available components. As operating systems advance there are also limits to the changes we can make to new software without breaking legacy hardware integrations. Retiring these products also means we will be able to put more focus on the development of new Maschine software. You will still be able to use your Maschine hardware with Maschine 2 software, which includes Apple Silicon and VST3 support. However, from November 6, 2024 we will no longer be maintaining this hardware and cannot guarantee that it will be supported by future versions of your computer’s operating system. It will also not be compatible with new updates to Maschine software.'
I’m late to the game, but I just bought used MK2 and S88 over the past few months. Not looking to upgrade. What concerns me are OS updates. How likely is it that an update (not an upgrade) will cause problems?
I'd always recommend waiting to update. In the past i would update and run into compatibility issues whether it be with plugins or the software itself.

I just purchased 3 and when installing and opening Maschine it still defaults to 2.18.4 I have Studio. Any thoughts on why it didn't convert to 3? Also some of the expansion artwork is missing and replaced with a grey plug icon. The product works but artwork is missing.
Dude with all due respect I’m knee deep in Maschine. I own the MK2 and allot of NI software. The negatives. NI requires allot of resources. NI is moving toward subscription based model. NI updates don’t play well together with other NI. When I was thinking about upgrading to the Maschine Plus and the MPC one plus the choice was easy, mpc.

Instead of building new more efficient streamlined programs. They lack the resources. Native instruments (maschine traktor). Are old sinking ships. That just get patched. Sent my komplete kontrol mk3 back i researched the machine and the mpc key 37 and it had on board sounds and beats i was like yep not going back to native instruments
But this goes for any of the modern beat machines that run computer software. MPC Ren too. Newer technology will always come out leaving old take behind. The original 2009 Maschine is 15 years old...that's a long time
You can’t single out Native instruments. How long did BeatThing last. I’ve had the MPC studio Silver and Black. Name me one Beat Machine that hasn’t been discontinued. That’s over 10 years old.

If the Stems Engine is like the one they offer, the stems doesn’t work like Serato. It’s very slow and nothing that you will use DJing.

Mk2 is a mk1 with rgb lights and better displays…they’re essentially the same so if 1 doesn’t work neither does the other
