    After A LOT of research on what my first boat will be I've finally decided on this one. I'm also going to add the rudder. Your walk through on this video and your video on the best upgrade to a kayak definitely helped in my decision making. Thanks a ton. Now I just have to decide on the color, really like that winter camo.

    Out of all the walkthroughs I've seen here on UA-cam, yours is possibly the most in depth. You literally went through every inch of the kayak. I've been up in the air on getting one of these until watching this. So thank you!

    Back at you again. Am waiting on my 12.5 V2 ( June 20-25). I have to admit, had I gotten $1200 from the government, (unknowingly got claimed as a dependent @ 60+ yrs old), I would have gotten the vibe shearwater 12.5. Tons more of boat.
    I've had my eye on the V2 for months, getting it and not looking back. You're one of a couple people who made up my mind. Am sure I'll love it. Thanks again.

      Yes. Flat calm with me paddling I've hit 3-4mph. I have been in the mouth of Chesapeake bay with this. Rollers and large boat wake was not an issue. Hatches are cam locked with seals and stay very dry. I have punched and fully submerged mine briefly with no worries.

  • @fishermanclay5559
    @fishermanclay5559 3 роки тому

    Would you buy bare bones Lure V2 for the price or buy Moken V2 and use extra cash to upgrade the rails and sonar? ... Honestly feeling this kayak just as much as the Lure V2 but THE PRICE leaves room to buy more to upgrade it. So really it would be just as good if not better than Lure V2 after rudder and sonar... Or whatever we chose... Right!? Man, I'm picky and just want my second kayak to be one I'll have for a long time. I would appreciate your word on the matter. Thanks for the video and your time sir.

    • @WAEofFishing
      @WAEofFishing  3 роки тому

      I would do moken. The lure seat is amazing but heavy. I say rig up the moken to the gills because in the long run it's more versatile. Take it all off and you have a river boat, load it up and you have a tournament rig. The lure is almost unusable without a rudder so add $200 to base price. You asked for my opinion....I just don't think the stability is worth the trade offs.🤷🏾‍♂️

      @WAEofFishing  4 роки тому

      Yes, but you do need good balance. I have a video where I was standing and fishing topwater out of it. If stability is that hi on the list you may want to look at a feelfree lure

  • @bryand2978
    @bryand2978 4 роки тому

    Would you go with the lure 11.5 or this? I know the lure has the gravity seat and wider stance for stability for casting. What's your thoughts? I know you have the v1 moken and i watched your 2 year review.

    • @WAEofFishing
      @WAEofFishing  4 роки тому +1

      totally depends on use case. The gravity seat is probably the best on the market honestly. But only if maneuverability, speed and tight quarters are not an issue. There is no simple answer to this. I have a Bonafide SS127 and a Moken....I would not take the SS127 on a river run if I have the choice between the two. It would work, sure but the Moken is way more nimble. Use case is everything.

  • @sonhan5214

    • @WAEofFishing

      i love my SS127, but honestly for me... the Moken is my ROCK. It is just so much more versatile. current, portaging, speed, rough water, customizable. I really really still love my Moken. Mokens are made with LPDE...low density polyethylene plastic. This makes the kayak not as durable and rigid as HDPE...high density polyethylene. Kayak brands like Perception uses HDPE. If you plan to tool around a lake and take it easy, LDPE is fine. But if you are gonna torture your yak, like we do, go with HDPE. Also understand that LDPE has less sun resistance than HDPE.

      I have a bad back also! Lmbo. I haven't paddled the boat yet but I will in a couple of months. I wonder if it was a cost thing or weight thing that drove the decision. With it's price point, I'm willing to bet it was cost.

    • @CaptainBax
      @CaptainBax 5 років тому

      @@WAEofFishing It could be but these Kayaks are made in Bangkok to keep costs down anyway. If it cost a few extra dollars at the start to give you a comfortable seat, I'm sure most new Kayak buyers would justify paying a little more. Here in Australia FeelFree are charging $500 for an aftermarket Gravity Seat and then hit you up for another $70 to get the High Back option, $570 would get you a nice recliner. If that wasn't bad enough FeelFree don't even make a Gravity Seat for the Moken, whether that be new or old model, so even if you could afford if and wanted to upgrade, it's not an option.

      @@WAEofFishing It certainly is a lot of money considering what it is, I wonder what metal it's made of. Now if it's stainless steel then OK but if it is just some sort of plastic wrapped or powder coated steel or worse still tin, then I think the public is getting ripped off. www.feelfreegearaust.com.au/collections/feelfree-kayaks-parts-accessories?page=2 (Page 1 has the high back price on it). I bought a Moken 12.5 earlier this week and looking back knowing what I know now I would of bought a Lure and if I had the money maybe the new Dorado. Please don't get me wrong I like most of the other features and the built in wheel is a real winner to me. On the earlier Model Lures you could fit an electric motor down through where they have the sounder pod nowadays with a slight Mod. ua-cam.com/video/wdchh-MVNKg/v-deo.html . Just wished they would think of people who don't have so much money to spend but could easily do a quick Mod. or have some sort disability or maybe aren't as fit or as strong as your average 18-35 yr old guy but want to get more enjoyment out of their Kayak and make life a little easier for themselves.
