Thanks so much for this video. I've never seen anyone show all of these different fabrics and how to cut them on the Scan n Cut with the rotary blade. Very informative!
Great demo. I'm more convinced than ever that the rotary blade will greatly advance my felt art creations. Thank you for sharing your time, talent and inspiration.
I was diagnoised with lupus right before the pandemic. I have issues with my hands and using this to cut quitting and pattern pieces has been a great help. I also have a cricut maker 3 the brother dx330 is definetly more geared towards fabric and textiles. I also like to use it to cut stickers that i have printed. The scan n cut will scan the sheet and then select to cut around the printed images. Way easier than the cricut because of the scan feature. I make a lot of small sewing projects like totes, wallets, change purses, small bags. Scanning the pattern peices and then having them cut out of the fabric or light lether is also awesome. As long as the pieces are under the 12x24 you are good to go.
Fellow lupie here, I love using the sdx to save my hands.
Thank you. Amazing results on the SNC especially just using the Standard mat without the fabric sheet. I ordered a Rotary blade &
Fabric mat and now feel inspired to try them.
thank you for this tutorial. I have the blade, still in the box. wasn't sure what to use it for.
Thanks for the helpful video on the different fabrics and stabilizers.
This is great! Learned a lot. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Michelle this helps a bit. I have had my DX330 almost a year now and still have not use it!
Hi. That’s a great tutorial, thanks. My sdx came with the rotary blade but any idea if I need to register it ? And how to get the patterns which are coming with the kit if the blade was included with the machine? Thanks again for sharing this tutorial.
Great video. Would loved to have seen how you clean the mats.
Why does no one ever use the low tack mat? Its frustrating as the Brother website says to use the rotary blade with the low tack mat for most fabrics…
Great demo! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Nice video Michelle
Great video. I have two questions, which models use the rotary blade and for other blades, I have extra blades from my ScanNCut 650W will they work with the scanncut? Thank you in advance! 🐾🐾
I was under the impression that it could also be used in the SDX 125e or any of the SDX machines. I have the SDX 125e so I just purchased the rotary blade!
My scan and cut sdx325 did not come with a rotary blade, I had to buy the rotary blade kit extra. I bought this scan and cut last Christmas.
rotary blade did not come with my sdx325
How are you cleaning your mats? Thank you.
How do you clean your mat?
My SDX 325 didn’t come with a rotary blade
My machine, which is a sdx325, takes 7 minutes to cut out a tiny little leaf, with the rotary blade. Is that normal? Do I need to change something to make it go faster?
It's totally normal. It takes roughly about 3 to 4 times longer to cut. It's wonderful to have it for things that are relativley hard or problematic to cut. Things I can cut easily, like quilt cotton, I cut with my fabric blade. (Michelle)
what do you use to clean the mat? Do you use baby wipes or something like it?
I have the SDX 325 and I was told it didn't come with the auto blade so I purchased one. I wonder if I have it and just didn't know what it looked like and all. My SnC is mostly in the box cuz I couldn't figure out how to use without stuff being pulled up from mat. thank you for all this info. gonna view it again.
The sdx325 comes with the auto blade, but I am pretty sure it doesn't come with the rotary blade that has autoblade technology. The sdx330d does come with the rotary blade.

Would you recommend the rotary blade for Kraftex and for cork fabric? Thanks!
Yes! I have, however, cut cork perfectly with my black cartrige auto blade.
How do you clean the mat after cutting???
Totally Awesome. You can buy it from the dollar store. Spray it on and then wipe off. Don't let it sit on the mat too long.
