    Wow what an entertaining movie from start to finish!! After watching this movie I did some research on Charles Manson and had no idea his cult was responsible for unaliving an actress, let alone a pregnant actress! Rest in peace to Sharon Tate, her child and the other victims. It definitely felt like the scenes with Margot Robbie in the cinema were a nice tribute to Sharon Tate. I understood that her house was the target in the movie, but I bet all of you who knew what happened in real life sat in suspense at that scene! It was highly satisfying seeing the cultists be beat and burned at the end instead of seeing the real tragedy. Interesting choice to change what happened, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and more facts about this movie!

    The film sort of is a "fairytale" in the sense that it rewrites history. In reality, Sharon Tate (Robbie) and everyone else in her house were brutally murdered that night. The movie gives them the justice they unfortunately weren't able to get.

    In real life those Manson people killed an 8 months pregnant Sharon Tate and the others at that house that night. Manson planned the murders, but didn't take part. Like some of his other "History" movies, he gives us the endings we emotionally want to see in terrible real life events.

    Here is a bit of background. In the last scene when Sharon Tate has invited Rick Dalton up to the house she is wearing a #17 Dallas Cowboys football jersey. Sharon Tate was from Dallas, and at the time Don Meredith was the quarterback for the Cowboys. He wore number 17.

    Margot Robbie's character was there as a red herring because people familiar with Manson know that Sharon Tate was murdered in a very gruesome manner. We were anticipating that but it was detailed by the alternative events of the film.

    This is a great movie, my favorite scene (outside of the attack at the end) is the scene where Rick returns to his trailer after blowing his lines. Such a great scene, and DiCaprio is an incredible actor. DiCaprio and Pitt have excellent chemistry, and I'd love to see them work together again some day.

    I should say first, you're one of my favorite reaction channels and this was great. I know you said that you thought Manson would be a bigger part of the story, but I think that kinda makes sense. When you think about it his whole thing was like "well, me, PERSONALLY, I didn't do anything..."
    He was the puppet master manipulating a bunch of cult followers geeked out on LSD to kill a bunch of people. So it kinda makes sense to me that Tarantino would have him making moves completely off camera.
    And as far as the title goes, you mentioned it not quite being a fairy tale in the classic sense of the word, but I think the title starts with "Once upon a time..." because that's the telltale sign that he's about to rewrite a significant historical event. He also did it in Inglorious Basterds. The beginning of the film starts with "once upon a time... in Nazi occupied France"... then he kills Hitler in the movie. Lol. In this movie the actual TITLE has "once upon a Time" in it so you know he's about to change some shit around like "No, Sharon Tate WASN'T brutally murdered because the killers accidentally ran into the wrong stuntman in the house next door..." lol. I love it. Also I should mention, you're one of my favorite reaction channels right now. Love what you do. Please keep it up.

    Great reaction like always, I love this movie... When Tarantino pulls the ripcord and it goes bananas, it is just so much fun. And Its alternate ending to real-life events is meant to be controversial, but for me, it’s a vision of how everything should have happened if the world was fair or, indeed, a fairy tale… in Hollywood. There some fun-facts about this movie, screen legend Burt Reynolds was originally cast for the role of George Spahn, but passed away at 82 before he could film his scenes. However, he was still able to leave his own mark on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood by suggesting Bruce Lee’s (Mike Moh) remark that Cliff Booth is “kinda pretty for a stunt guy.” Burt Reynolds is not the only actor who helped created some memorable moments from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, such as Booth's profane pep talk to Rick Dalton (a Brad Pitt ad-lib inspired by a real-life experience of his) or the latter character's Lancer mistake and subsequent, and completely improvised, trailer freakout, both of which were Leonardo DiCaprio's suggestions. Practical Effects Were Used To Recreate 1969 Los Angeles, Quentin Tarantino opted against using CGI for the authentic, Oscar-winning recreation of Los Angeles circa 1969 in this movie, claiming that even if the audience did not notice the difference. One effect from this movie that was, surprisingly, also practical is Rick Dalton's flamethrower from The 14 Fists of McCluskey, for which a hesitant Leonardo DiCaprio actually set actors on fire. It took some convincing from co-stunt coordinators Zoe Bell and Robert Alonzo, the latter of which let DiCaprio set him on fire first, before the actor felt comfortable making "fried sauerkraut" out of the stunt crew. Rick Dalton’s MAD Caricature Became The Real Cover Art For The Magazine’s Final Issue.
    Bruce Lee’s Daughter Was Unimpressed With The Depiction Of Her Father. Shannon Lee, the daughter of Lee, described her father's depiction in the movie to The Wrap as "an arrogant asshole who was full of hot air." Despite attempts to defend the portrayal from Mike Moh, who plays the kung fu movie legend in the film. Margot Robbie’s performance brought Sharon Tate’s sister to tears, Sharing Nina Tooley's sentiment over the movie is Debra Tate, the sister of tragic starlet Sharon Tate, who initially condemned the film upon its mere announcement until Quentin Tarantino personally reached out to her about his intentions. Tarantino has a personal connection to another Los Angeles cinema that receives mention in this movie, specifically when Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring (Emile Hirsch) discuss an adult movie premiere taking place at a nearby theater. The theater in question is the Eros, known today as The New Beverly and owned by Quentin Tarantino. Keep up the amazing work.

If you're not sitting through the whole movie in suspense and with a sense of impending dread - if you're not recognizing all the characters, and who they were in real life - it's a total waste of time. What a shame, she's a great reactor, but as I'm watching this reaction I started to realize, "Uh-oh....nobody told her that she needs to know what happened that night." But of course, that's the story of the dopey 21st century, ain't it Mauricio?) Just saw The Poseidon Adventure again over the pandemic, then I saw two or three great reactions for it. Talk about a movie that didn't need remaking. You actually fell for that lazy coloring book of a movie? The movie that was made for doofuses who never leave the shallow end of the pool? You just let them market any old horseshit they can fob off on you, don't ya! Hilarious. Hey Mauricio, why don't you value originality and creativity? Seriously, I'm dying to know! Why do you accept mediocrity? Why do you let them laugh at you, all the way to the bank? I mean you can just hear them sniffing coke and saying "I know.....we'll remake The Poseidon Adventure! It'll be easy now, and these idiots won't know the difference!" Isn't that around the same time they were remaking stuff like "Carrie" and "Psycho"? lol. Mauricio, you wouldn't know what a "really good movie" looks like if your life depended on it, who are you kidding. If it doesn't have a man in it jumping around in a cape and a mask, or holding a light saber, you think you're watching an art film. 🤣

  • @TTM9691
    @TTM9691 2 місяці тому

    Oh no! I'm broken-hearted you didn't know the backstory about what you were watching because without that, the movie makes no sense whatsoever. There's absolutely no suspense or drama or sense of dread throughout it because we are assuming the worst. 90% of the characters in the movie are based on real people, all the locations, right down to all those neon signs, they're iconic places from 60's L.A. Great reaction, though, considering. But without knowing about Sharon Tate, the Manson Family and what happened that night, the movie means nothing. PS: Hullaballoo was a 60s rock & roll show, just bands and singers doing their latest records, sometimes with dancers behind them. "Shindig", "Hullaballoo", "Shivaree", "Where The Action Is", you'd see all the British Invasion bands, the Motown singers, etc etc.....and sometimes Hollywood stars promoting some crappy record they'd cut! That short little bit of him singing "Green Door" is freaking hilarious if you've ever seen old Hullaballoo clips, and know the history of actors making cheesy records. (There is a compilation of hilarious examples of such recordings, called "Golden Throats". William Shatner singing Mr. Tambourine Man, stuff like that). The fact he's singing "Green Door" is an even more-hilarious, super arcane/obscure in-joke that I can't even really explain. If you know, then you know!)

    • @TTM9691
      @TTM9691 2 місяці тому

      Wrong. There are TONS of things that aren't accurate in this movie, but that scene ain't one of 'em. That's exactly how child actors speak, in ANY time period. Watch everything from interviews with Mickey Rooney or Jackie Coogan in the 30s to Tatum O'Neal or Jodie Foster in the mid-70s. Or Peter Billingsly in the early 80s, etc etc. (Billingsilly is a good example). And in the late 60s? Even moreso! They don't want to have babysit on movie sets. That scene with the kid is one of the most realistic and most interesting parts of the movie.....it just goes sailing over your head because you don't know what you're watching. Who are you kidding? You're a couch potato in Nowheresville, USA, right?; you've never once worked on a movie set, never worked with child actors (who are ALWAYS precocious). (If you have to look that word up, then there's your answer why that scene is over your head). Let me explain what Tarantino is doing there, so that you can enjoy the practical effect that is happening right in front of your eyes, that you're too stupid to notice. Those are long takes. What he's trying to do is basically equal Tatum O'Neal in "Paper Moon", where she has these long takes with tons of dialog. Those scenes are what won her the Oscar. He has a big picture of Tatum O'Neal from that movie on his screening room wall. Everything with Tarantino is about referencing something else. That scene is totally "Paper Moon". PS: More specifically: kids in the 60s spoke like adults, plain and simple; I can prove it a million times over.
