The Source Audio Artifakt Lo-Fi Elements is your one stop shop for audio manipulation whether you’re looking to warp, filter, degrade or delay.
7 engines shares an intuitive control set composed of a Bandwidth section, Modulation, master Filter and Destruct and Vary knobs that change function with each modes. The modes include Radio static and filtering, Tape effects and modulation, µVerb with multiple diffused delay lines, Bit Crush for classic video game sounds and sample rate modulation, a Ladder filter much like the Moog MF-101, and a comprehensive Vinyl mode that crackles, pops and warps plus a Glitch engine that spits back your audio at various pitches and intervals but with an envelope to let your dynamics control the chaos!
This latest One Series offering takes a huge leap forward with much more control on the outside. Although you can still connect to Source Audio's powerful Neuro App for all your needs, Artifakt invites you to just plug in and explore thanks to 12 presets all loaded up from the factory.
Artifakt Lo-Fi elements still has with stereo ins/outs, mini MIDI jacks and Source audio’s famous control port for expression and much more. For full details check out SourceAudio.net

There's something funny about a high-tech device recreating the imperfections of low-tech devices that were supposed to be eliminated by high-tech. Love these sounds.
Funny but kinda sad at this point too. There's always been trends that come along just to "disrupt" things; often started by frustrated "creators" trying to come up with something original. This why blues, disco and doo-wop will always have revivals; sometimes with new names. This is like cubism and abstract expressionism in painting.
I'm totally expecting a black and white TV trend to pop up any minute now.
I'm a big fan of SA but I'll confess to some disappointment that this unveiling wasn't something more interesting to me. I already have a broken tube screamer, a 70's no-name phaser, and some patch cords that give me all the lo-fi I need.
I was hoping for a pedal that uses AI to perfectly master my mixes to acceptable modern perfection.
Then I'd get one of these to put after that. And then I'll play the blues.
I know! We guitarists paying top dollar to make our guitars sound broken or shitty hahaha (I have spent about six hundred on Generation Losses)
The Kilobyte, with its karaoke chip delay, is my goto, for most leads, and quite a few rhythms.
I remember it being promoted as a LoFi delay, but it’s much closer to a Echoplex tape delay, aged just right, to me.
I like Source Audio’s digital pedals, and how they can be interchangeable, with one another.
I’d love to have this Artifakt, but I recently got the Raster 2, and I’ve just finally figured out how to use a lot of its different features, within songs, both stereo and mono, as well as running the Kilobyte into it, for a nice dual delay sound.

Then don’t use them to make sounds from the past.
Make something different. Use it in a way that doesn’t make sense at first, and work backwards.
I’m not even talking about this particular pedal, but any and all of them.
This has some cool things, especially for someone recording on a budget, using it in traditional ways.
It also has a lot of interesting features, that someone with imagination could use to make something different.
Think about how people loved ripped jeans. As soon as imperfections are overcome, we emulate them to feel we have control over them, and can use them as we wish.
If anyone could demonstrate the full capabilities of this pedal, I knew Andy would! It's likely to be a niche product but no doubt a lot of thought went into developing it. Great demo Andy.
It feels like a niche product- but the reality is, this kind of effect is becoming more and more common- I'm hearing a lot of ppl using them. I like it, but it's not cheap- and I'm not sure I like it that much.
Sounds like early Beatles demos
Why did I watch this? I KNEW Andy was going to make me feel like I HAVE TO HAVE this pedal. RIP, my bank account
Always.
I want this yesterday
Salesman of the year.
The use of Black for that “radio” tone was… incredibly perfect.
My thoughts exactly
"Damn, i think one of my cables has gone bad. Oh no, wait, it's the pedal i spent actual money on."
"I mean, what's next? People sabotaging their own gear to get some sort of distortion out of it? That's just wrong! We don't want wrong sounds!"
Lol 😂
@@AzathothsAlarmClock I think I got it. If you think I didn't, explain it to me nice and slowly with no big words.
Haha. You crazy bastard
Andy is responsible for at least 4 or 5 of my SA pedal purchases. Looks like he will be guilty again.
Great demo, as always
Finally an alternative to the Chase bliss Generation Loss that is, at least, a bit cheaper. Great demo as always, Andy!
The MojoHand Stylus is even more reasonably priced...
Thanks for being the best! Stoked for this new offering from Source Audio, they nailed it with this format and sound.
Excellent use of Blur, sir!
Thank you! Been waiting for the right pedal to use that tune. ✌️
@@AndyDemos You nailed it. You play all my favorites. Please never quit!!!
Good catch, I always thought it grahams love letter to guided by voices
@@mikedenallo6997 I can hear that! That album had lots of 90’s American Indie influence and in turn blur influenced American bands in return. Rich era and scene
What’s the song at the very beginning of the video??
I would spend more time tweaking than playing if I had this.
Regardless, really cool pedal. It’s packed with features. Would be great for the home studio.
real talk, why is it coloured like mcdonalds fries? everyone knows fuzz is red and lo-fi pedals are blue...
Andy is the most influential guitarist for me
I came here knowing I’d probably hear You’re So Great by Blur…didn’t disappoint right out of the gate!
Man, what the fuck. Incredible.
Well, that's one weird pedal indeed ! When they're all about perfecting the sound, this one is quite the opposite....strange days indeed....strange days mama....
"just *scratching* the surface", well played sir!
That was dope! 9:30
I'm looking forward to this... nice to see you Andy
Through-zero flanging is icing on this very capable cake!
How did you know i just got my safety bonus....
I love this one. The could have made it better looking but hey. Im getting it.
Sad drunk and poorly, sleeping really late.
Faithful rendition!!!
Great Blur cover!!! Graham Coxon is so good.
The radio static is really annoying but I love everything else about this pedal !
When a pedal makes you smile, I know I'm in financial peril
Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here would sound great on that radio static setting, at least the intro 😃
Great, another reason never to go outside. Bought
ANDY YOU’RE SO GREAT AND WE LOVE YOUUUUUU
Andy good for you man...im following you brother.
Cool demo! I don’t know why, but I’ve been a little intimidated by pedals with presets … 😵💫 but this thing is a Lo-Fi Amusement Park with so many creative options and ideas on tap! It maybe one I try out.
Great demo. The pedal is amazing and so is it’s $$$! Ramen noodle eating musicians will not be lining up for a purchase! 😎🎸
It's good to see a guitarist's full body and face in a demo review. I'm not a fan of the headless guitarist vids that dominate UA-cam. First time here and appreciate the shot and editing choices that you used.
Thanks for stopping by! I’ve been showing my face since 2009 haha!
How much is this gonna go for ?
I'm in love with the new form factor, but can't help but feel like this sounds all too digital, on every setting (I realize it is, but there are plenty of digital lofi pedals that sound less digital than this--see Chroma Console), including tape and vinyl. I think it seems like a super nice experimentation device, but this one's not for me.
From my experiences, something could easily go from sounding “digital” to “warm” with just the slightest treble roll-off. The main filter can do that in an instant, although I wanted you guys to hear what the pedal was doing, so there is some trade-off. Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻
@@AndyDemos For sure! I was actually quite surprised because just about every product review I've seen by you has made me want the thing you are reviewing, as your playing, presentation, and implementation is just vastly superior to everyone else out there, but this one just came off sounding thin and artificial. Either way, thanks for all your incredible work, man! You're the GOAT.
Yup. This video made me go buy one.
Happy to help! I’m still finding new sounds with this one, do check out SA’s insta for more examples ✌️
Was able to snag one for 10% off.
You’re So Great! Perfect choice, sir.
You're so great!
Andy does it again and nails some sounds I want - gonna check this pedal out ASAP! thx Andy
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
very interesting, unique!!!
I swear I heard Eddie Vedder vocalizing around the 3:00 mark. 🤘
I have their collide pedal, and it's awesome. But if I'm going to drop 300+ on a source audio I'd get more reverb
I wasn't too excited about this until Andy recreated Pete Townshend sending his guitar through an ARP Oddyssey for Who Are You, but gets closer to its original use on Relay in 1972.
Just like the usefulness of a cup is in its emptiness, the usefulness of a radio is in its capability to receive static...
Yeah, but music has no need for usefulness. Just like you can use that empty cup as faux Percussions.
@@haxenheimer9707 Well said!
Andy you’re a genius unmatched guitarist IMO.
Wearing dirty looking clothes is becoming a thing too.
Awesome demo Andy. Some superb playing. Great pedal too. There's been some great pedals in general released recently. Look forward to the next one.
Coolest version of "Who Are you" I've heard
But as usual, Andy is making the best out of it !
Love all the WHO examples.👍
blur! love that song
What is that first song??? So familiar.
Tell Me WHO ARE YOU!!!
Pearl Jam Black ❤
Can that pedal get that one acoustic part in Metallica's "To Live is to Die"? It's got an older type of tone.
In Radio mode you would get this..
2:55 Black? 🎸
The best!
Incredible demo, per the usual, Andy!
Okay, impossible question time: You're moving to a desert island and can only bring one guitar, one pedal and one amp. What do you choose, sir??
That’s easy: LP, Plexi and Echoplex ✌️😁🌴
@@AndyDemos A Les Paul, really? Wow. I would have thought a Tele for ya.
🤔
Going solo...no more reviews for Reverb?
No, I’ve had this channel since 2017. More Reverb vids to come 👍🏻
@@AndyDemos Yikes...I wasn't aware. Nice to have more Andy than less. Keep up the stellar demos! 💫💥👌
Love the You're So Great cover. I definitely listeners to the Blur s/t album to death back in the day.
Oh and following up with Black by PJ. ❤ Like if you did the little bass *bih-dooo* bit after Andy's guitar bit 😂
way too much going on for one pedal
Source Audio makes some very high-quality pedals but this one is just dumb. Sorry Andy!
This one seems to be quite polarizing but the only limits are your imagination. I played quite a few examples where this pedal would come in handy live or in the studio. Thanks for watching!
@AndyDemos
Fair enough, Andy. There were a couple of useable tones in your demo.
Andy brother you gotta say "comprises" then the stuff, or say "composed of" then the stuff. Not supposed to say "comprised of" even though it sounds good. Love you, sorry to be that guy. Someone has to say it.
Thanks👍🏻
first ever video I dislike in 12 years looking at loys of your demos. This pedal sounds only unorganic hype (except the verb). Something like a Line6 M5 would maybe already do as good, with much more preset slots but cheaper, nope??? yup, even the bit crush sounds "flat" ; cool for synths, I think...??. Hope someone will go the opposite way with this pedal on guitar by going full experimental in the settings and playing, would be much more interesting to me :D maybe I shall?
Oh well, thanks for watching!
The chorus, delay and filter are lovely. It doesn’t just do lofi stuff by any means. Have a browse of the editor to see all it can do.
@@peterkenney9158 no they don't! this pedal sounds to "hi fi" for me :P it's calibrated for IR's and FRFR that sounds like huge PA's, like the GFI synesthesia or an SP-404. I'm not into this. And I'm not even anti-IR, I have a Poly Beebo in the stereo fx loop of my little princeton.
@@AndyDemos seen the prismatic wall today!! I'm not mad anymore! :P sorry to bother you !!
That Ladder mode is complete trash.
I mean, I know it’s all meant to kinda sound trashy … but describing that Ladder mode as Moog filter like, is a joke.
Black intro was the obvious choice for Radio mode … I remember buying an Ibanez LF7 Tone Lok pedal, years ago, to cover that song … 😊
Great demo as usual...and saved me a packet! What is it with Source Audio, all their pedals just have this flatness to their sounds?! Bought quite a few and always so disappointing. This one especially sounds bland compared to something like Ribbons, a real shame
I believe I have told you before that you have your own folder on my UA-cam saved videos list… Need I say more? Except, could I borrow some pedals?😂
