Assembled my Rad Power 6 Plus today, and just wanted to affirm all of Pop's tips here. All helpful. I picked up a torque wrench that measures NM pressure, (which was handy, since the manual often had recommended tightness amounts for the various parts).

The wife and I assembled our Rad Rover 6 Plus today. All we used was the tools provided and the assembly went well.

How did you do it without a torque wrench Allen bits and crows fit bit?

The RadRover is heavy so it's difficult to pedal without assistance for very long. See my videos on battery performance for more, and thanks for watching.

Is it safe to ride if you don’t torque the screws?

If you're using the Allen wrenches provided with the bike, tighten the fasteners snugly. Then, recheck them after your first ride to gain confidence in your work.

I took your advice and was able to set up my bike sufficiently. Had a nice ride but the weather is crap today so I’ll check the screws in a few days when the weather gets nicer. I’m glad I went this route instead of paying $250 for a shop to assemble it for me.! Thanks! I have a better understanding of the bicycle now, and having no prior experience as a cyclist that helped tremendously! Also been hands-on through the assembly process I read the entire manual, which I don’t know if I would’ve if I would’ve had a shop put together! Thanks!

Also, I have the new Radater Trail bike model, not the 6, similar assembly, a bit different but I love it!

I trying to make up my mind on rad 6 purchase . I too am 76 and out of shape I want to use bike to commute to part time job 4 1/2 mi away from house.

RadPower has smaller, lighter models made for commuting that may fit the bill better. The Rover's size may make storage at work a consideration.

If youve paid thousands for a bike, theres no reason to mot shell out a few bucks for the right tools.

No argument here - I have tons of tools.
But when your bike box arrives, you have what you need.
