@@MelioraCogito Battery anything sucks in the North, I wouldn't trust it in winter. You'd have to carry a generator and fuel to charge it so you'd be better off with a snowmobile or a Bowens Diablo if you like that style.

Where is the nearest charging point? LOL That's why electric vehicles are useless . You can take plenty fuel with you if it's diesel. Can you charge electric vehicle when runs out of energy in the middle of nowhere ? You can't relay on electrical power in survival.

Is there a diesel version? I don't like the idea of lugging huge, heavy battery packs around with no way of charging them when a jerry can of diesel would last longer than several huge, heavy battery packs.

Funny thing about electronics they don't work so well in cold weather half the time not at all, they have to be warm to start with and if they are left anywhere past -32 you have a 50/50 chance of failure !
Wonder what kind of batteries they use... My electric bike with Lithium batteries loose a lot of power when it is colder then about +15c (works kind of ok if the battery is warm when you start and do not take any breaks, stop for 2 min and when you start again the juice in the batteries is gone until they get warmed up again...).

It's electric...no thanks. Get out into the middle of nowhere and the LiPo cells take a dump due to the cold and you're screwed. Stick a nice 2 stroke gas motor on it and we'll talk.
ROTAXD - in some european countries snowmobiles with combustion motors are not legal for private use. Only way for legal private use is electric.
Another company actually makes a nice little 4 stroke version. I just saw one at Hudson equipment in barneveld new york. The sane business alsp goes by Hudons snowmobile salvage, so it may be under that name. Look them up. I believe they're called a snodog not sure.

Only problem I se s its 100% electric and designed to navigate areas where electricity is non existent. Its a neat toy to play with close to home, but if its going to be a valuable tool for modern homesteaders and outdoor enthusiasts it needs to have a power supply that is easily replenished.

Possible, but solar is slow to charge, and if its cloudy even longer. I can envision many situations where waiting for batteries to recharge with solar could be very problematic. Carrying extra gas tends to have minimal impact on total payload, whereas extra batteries usually make a massive impact on total payload.
I really do like the look of this machine and I'm excited to see it's made in Canada. I wonder if they're still looking for manufacturers and distributors.

i make lithium battery banks...while this is very interesting, the range would be very short, speed is slow, and you cannot recharge lithium under 0c, so no solar panels unless batts warmed...this is interesting, but i cannot see a great product, only a limited good one, until cheap cells start happening...

@@johnathannelson6195 dont mean to disourage...36v/20a/750w motor, with 36v/25ah lifepo4 pack will give you 2 hours run time(or so), but you need to keep the cell bank in warm when charging, and do not use below -20c...it is nifty design, and i want to turn a motor i have into this, maybe for ice fishing, charge inside shack...

Но как обычно все подобные новаторские идеи, либо были задушены, либо брошены на произвол, мол сами пусть построят если кому и надо, либо тупо проданы в месте с людьми в нагрузку с их же идеями, и теперь ты видишь результат, планомерного долбоебизма и распездяйства, когда проверенные идеи (не все конечно, что то и здесь оживает, в ЧАСТНЫХ руках) получают второе дыхание за бугром в новой осовремененной обёртке, соответствуя времени и актуальности, ведь только актуальный и красиво преподнесённый товар имеет право на выживание в современном рынке, и нередко за всеми этими "новыми" идеями стоят наши бывшие соотечественники. You’re forgetting the big trucks carrying diesel generators to charge these in the field.

Using a linked system similar to in-flight refueling, the range can be extended drastically, and anything noisy or easily targeted can be a bit farther away at an FOB... Also required generators or replacement battery packs (which would most likely be the case) can be quietly airlifted by drones to locations (and discarded if need be). Things such as this means we have to keep the ideas moving into the "possibilities" and leave the idea of big diesel trucks in the here and now. There could be a few of the tracked vehicles that are loaded with battery packs or refueling attachments that travel with the mission-specific wagons, just as the F-18's have tanker versions that fly right with them into battle areas.

I would be very proud to have invented this. I could see applications for this in mining, logging, exploration, surveying, emergency rescue, firefighting, even Moon and Mars exploration. It makes sense to have a small, independent locomotion device, that is lightweight and interchangeable with many different sled or wheeled cargo or personnel transport attachments. In many cases, 4x4 vehicles are useless because of the amount of obstacles.
Years and years ago there was a snowmobile called the huskey, exact same concept (minus the remote, battery power and self guided of course)

The DeWalt cordless Mixer/Drill (DCD130T1) is twice as powerful as the corded mixers. It rips. Just a FYI. I like this concept and plan on at least utilizing my batteries with a 5000W inverter to use as a tool power supply capable of running a welder, table saw, or powerful rotary tools. Not sure what battery chemistry you are using in this unit; however, I'd be using Lithium Titanate because it has the best operating temperature range, charge, and discharge rates.
