fun fact:Since Fox hated Futurama, they aired this episode the penultimate one, you know the one with the title:"Bender Should Not Be Allowed on Television." just to stick it up to the creators.
for more context: FOX Basically hated this show since they wanted:"The Simpsons on Space." and that they didn't have complete creative control and tried everything to ruin it, like the episode where Fry and Bender become roommates? that was Fox's idea, that's why It's the one with the least dark comedy, Also Fox changed the airing time all of the time, at first Futurama aired between the Simpsons and The X-Files, but then changed it to air Family Guy(a show which they also cancelled), and now they were stuck on tuesdays, and basically whenever the show picked up steam boom! change days, and when the staff was expecting the contract to make season 5(or at the very least know that they were getting cancelled.) FOX never warned them, so techincally Futurama wasn't even cancelled they just didn't order a new contract.
This episode is absolutely ridiculous on all levels. The premise, the cheeky jabs the writers make at themselves, and just everyone’s lines. Also just wanna thank you again for being really the only one reacting to the best cartoon ever. Always excited to watch every week.
It all depends on the intelligence of the child and its parents if the child is to understand the difference of games/movies and the real world, but if violent games would be the reason forviolence in the society at least 4/5 kids would be violent since almost all kids today play GTA/valorant and such games, I think it is rather a ventilation system for emotions My dad cursed all the time in a humoristic way and I've been cursing since I was very young, I learned early that it is not the words that are bad but the intentions can be bad, and those should be separated If there is something that probably influences kids in a negative way is when they are told that there are "bad" words but get no explanation to why the words are bad, it will cause a lot of confusion for them during the most important development years Oh right, I have to buy a lava lamp, they are so freakin out today that I need one 😂
Oh, the dilemma. Can't wait to see a grown man cry like a little girl, but I also avoided watching that episode ever again. It hurts to even think about it.
Funny enough, Bender kind of *does* have a point at the end. Turning off the TV every now and then and just spending time with your kids, or trying to, is a great idea. Sitting down with your kids to know what's going on with them. And when all else fails, taking off your belt will drive home that something is beyond unacceptable. Just don't make that your go-to punishment. People freak out way too much at the thought of whipping their kids. So long as you aren't abusing them on a daily basis, I'm 100% on board for belting a kid's ass for shaving the neighbor's cat or breaking something expensive or irreplaceable.
Hahaha yes, enjoy the laughs for now, because... the next one... 😭💔 Anyway, I found this episode especially funny cus all the problems Futurama had with Fox executives
I was exposed to a lot of fictional content as a young child- involving both violence & sexual situations- when I lacked the capacity to fully understand what was going on. The IT miniseries (rated TV-14) when I was 4 years old and Interview With A Vampire (rated R) around 8 years old come to mind as good examples. I don't think it made me violent or anything like that but I do think it was very distressing to me as a child (I remember getting hysterical when Claudia in Interview was killed, because I didn't understand she was a 60+ year old murdering vampire in the body of a little girl instead of an actual little girl) so do think it was a lapse in judgement for my parents to not restrict that kind of content. That probably applies even more to sexual situations because so much sexuality depicted in movies and on TV is so skeevy and unhealthy in its' dynamics. I'm fine with cursing though, although I think you then have to be careful to teach the child when it is and is not appropriate to use that language.

I love how Bender joins the protest group against himself. And *F* athers *A* gainst *R* ude *T* elevision? Come on, that's genius.
It inspired me to start the Make America Not Insane Again movement.
Kevin Smith joined a protest against his own movie.
What a dad joke
3:33 Not just Fry but Leela as well helping Bender get the part using his cheap trick is adorable beyond words 😂
Executive: I once put a laugh track on a sitcom that had no jokes in it."
So... Big Bang Theory, then?
Merry Christmas Eric. Love your videos. Great DBZA reference btw. 😆
One more closer, happy holidays to everyone and this is a good episode the writers must've gone nuts doing this

Look, I heard the neighbor saying they wanted a hairless cat. Nobody told me that was a separate breed. I thought I was doing them a favor.
