How to Prep Banana Bread

- Recipe:
3-4 overripe bananas
1 3/4 c gluten free flour
1/4c-1/2 c of sugar. sometimes I add maple syrup 1-2 tbs when I do less sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
*if you want a more moist bread, sometimes I add 1/4 c yogurt

@@andresua7193 No! I am more an Orange fan but do know that 70s show (who doesn't?) I grew up in the 90s, though and am always reluctant to see the interpretations. I may watch just for the cameos, tho!!!
@@stella448 I loved that 70’s show as a kid (i’m only 21) and honestly, the adaption is really good! Surprisingly still funny with a bit of that old nostalgia. though i feel the emphasis on smoking was a bit larger this time around (so far)
The fact that people are now tuning in to her channel makes me happy. She's consistently post even though she doesn't get alot of views and now with the remake/reboot I hope more tune in

It's definitely one of those fun, forgiving recipes where being a little off with the measurements (because of the helpers) is no big deal!
One of the best things you can do for your kids is teach them to cook. And teaching them to make banana bread is just great.

Back in 2006 when my mom showed me how to make banana bread, I always loved how much people loved it and how easy my mom made it. So I've always been happy to make it for everybody I know. So far, I've showed my nieces how to make it and I still make it on the regular to this day :)

Hi Laura - I would use baking powder in addition to the baking soda to get more lift. Baking soda is activated by acids, and you have basically no acid in the recipe (a tiny bit from the butter, but no lemon juice or similar), so the baking soda won't do much for lift. Baking powder is baking soda with included heat-activated acid, so a nice rise will happen during cooking. So in my BB, I use 3/4 tsp baking soda + 1/4 tsp baking powder. I often use veg oil instead of butter - I think that also helps lift because it isn't so stiff like saturated butter. Also 50/50 brown sugar. My batter starts out more like thick pancake batter. Oh, and I also make a similar Zucchini bread - it's less sweet than banana bread, so I feel better about eating a toasted slice for breakfast (often with butter, peanut butter, or preserves). Thanks for sharing all your insights.

Nice! It's been a while. It turns out that I made banana bread for the first time just the other day. From a recipe in a recent Sunday New York Times magazine. Brown sugar instead of white sugar and here's a good suggestion . . . . two tablespoons of miso. It makes it even more umami.

I am such a huge fan of that 70s show you were so awesome on it I also love banana bread as well if they were to make a. Season 2 of that 90s show would you go back and do a couple episodes in season two if they make it and asked you to come back what was it like being back with Topher Grace after all these years it must of very emotional for you I watched all 10 episodes of that 90 show it was awesome I loved it so much hello from Canada 🇨🇦

I usually replace the butter with apple sauce and sometimes ad in a little oat flour. And I too always cut my sugar. Especially because my kids do not need it lol
